Host was friendly and very prompt in responding to messages. Cabin was very nice and amenities were as described. Beautiful area. Would definitely recommend and will go back
Nice place in a beautiful area. Check in and check out was really easy. Just be aware we didn’t have internet and had to drive miles to connect.

Thanks so much for your stay and great review!! About the internet, we definitely have it. I’m wondering if it was down during your stay. I sincerely apologize for that and if your ever in the situation again, just let us know. I would of been happy to check it out.
We only stayed one night but really could have stayed longer. Went kayaking at Pictured Rocks and explored a few waterfalls. If we stayed longer it would have been fun to kayak right there in Au Train. Campground staff were so friendly when we checked in.
Cabin was very nice and clean. There were lots of family/children friendly activities on the grounds such as swimming, kayaks, paddle boarding, tetherball, basketball court to keep everyone having fun. Lake Superior is close by for swimming or hanging out at the big lake. Will definitely stay her again.
The cabin was warm and exactly what I expected. I enjoyed staying in a historic style cottage, we have all the amenities we needed. There were several upgrades that I could see the owners are working very hard to revive this classic family resort. We’ll go back for sure!
This cabin is right on Lake AuTrain in a lovely campground/resort. The cabins are nicely spaced apart. There is great access to the lake from a beach and a large deck with easy chairs. The owners are super nice and responsive. We rented a boat for fishing and had a great time. The cabin was cozy, well equipped, and super clean. We spent a week there to go grouse hunting in the national forest and enjoy the sites. We had a terrific time

I guess we did not pay close enough attention when we read the description. I read that they had sites for motor homes but the pictures looked like they were on one side of the property with the cabins distanced from them. Not the case. Too noisy and crowded. Plus the cabin we had was dirty, small, and dark. On the plus side, the host was as accommodating as she could be under the circumstances.

Thank you for your review. I would however, have to disagree. While we do have campsites on our 15 acre property, they are well way from the cabins. At least 300 feet away.
Small, dark and dirty, in my opinion, are the complete opposite of our cabins. Our cabin are clean, spacious and well lit. Our cabins are more suited for those looking to experience the outdoors and get away from the hotel experience. If you are looking for modern city living and the hotel scene, this definitely wouldn’t be the place for you. I hope you were able to find something more suited to your needs.
Thank you for trying us out.
We snowmobile the u.p. for a few days and stayed at the pictured rocks cabin. The trails are conveniently located north and south of Lake Au Train. The cabin was nice and clean and exceeded our expectations.
We were coming to ski Valley Spur and had our old diabetic dog with us. This was the perfect location and hone for us! Very warm on some of the coldest days of the winter!!! Loved the cool shower stall. Beautiful! We had everything g we needed and were very comfortable . If you want t.v. Channels they have everything !! Great WiFi too. Lovely spot .
The cabin was perfect and Heather, the host made it happen. Any issues were addressed in a timely manner. Just over a mile from UP trail 8. We'll be coming back!!!
This was our first time visiting the UP and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. Heather was not only responsive and helpful, she ended up upgrading us to a bigger cabin. The place was beautiful and clean. The cabin was stocked with paper products, linens, dishes, and silverware. We weren’t able to get on WiFi, but the office there had free dvds to watch. The entire campground was quiet and relaxing. The location makes traveling to all parts of Pictured Rocks quick and easy. Our cabin had a beautiful view of the lake and made us feel like we had the entire campground to ourselves, even though it was fully booked. We were so happy with the service and we cannot wait to return again next year!
