We visited this VRBO in June 2025. I had read previous reviews before booking. The condo was clean, supplies were abundant and I loved that I didn’t have to run to the store as soon as we arrived. The condo had everything we needed and we attempted to book for winter months, but they were unavailable. It is a great location and is close to beaches, salt marsh, Linden street and other places we have frequented in previous visits.

Our third annual vacation in Carpinteria ... our favorite Carpinteria VRBO accommodation!
This property is ideal for a vacation in Carpinteria. The condo is well appointed and offers everything one needs. It is very close to the beach, as well as within a comfortable walking distance to restaurants, etc. in downtown Carpinteria.
The property owner/manager was very responsive to a couple of questions we had and available by email, text and phone.
We were very happy with this condo near the beach in Carp. We have stayed in several places throughout the town of Carpinteria and really in enjoyed this one. It was clean, private, parking right by door, and steps from the marsh and our favorite end of the Carpinteria beach. Also, a short walk from all our favorite restaurants. Jay the condo responded right away to a question we had. Perfect place for us. We will stay again.
I had a great time.
This Condo is one of My favourites here in Carpinteria.
Great Location to Everything.
You can hear the Surf at night from Your Bedroom.
Walking to the Farmers Market on Thursdays was so convenient.
Jay was so easy to get ahold of. (properly manager)
The Neighbours were fabulous and treated Me as if We knew each other for ever.
I give this Location a Ten! “10”

Great location, good for couple only
The apartment was about a block and a half from the beach but was small with a loft where the queen size bed was. The apt is loaded with everything you would need but is small. Bathroom is upstairs.
Beach was great but Carp gets lots of overcast in the summer/fall. Bed was a little lumpy (recommend get a new mattress) and after 10 days I did have a hurt back. Small BBQ but no patio. The town is like going back in time. Would come back (especially if they got a new mattress).

About three years ago we put in a new high quality mattress that cost about $800.00 that was not too soft or too hard to accommodate everyone. I called other guest and everyone was happy with the mattress, including the owner. I tried the mattress myself and did not feel any lumpiness. I talked to this person and he told me that his wife was the one who had the problem and she is used to a hard bed, he was fine with the bed.
I feel bad that she had this experience and hope the best for her. We always respond to problems and resolve them quickly. For example: we replaced items usually on the same day a renter calls us, like the bed three years ago, the TV and more. We want to make sure that everyone has a great experience staying at the condo.
Not well maintained (have photos)
Dirty with other people’s grunge ...stove top, pots & pans not properly washed still had food stuck on, BBQ had someone else’s food stuck on it . The hair dryer was rusted and didn’t work . A bunch of miss matched sheets & towels .
No detailed instructions for the (3) TV remotes ..it wouldn’t run twice in (10) days
Very difficult to use the Lockbox ..again not complete instructions ..in the rain at night ..was almost impossible ..took both hands and nowhere to put anything out of the rain.
Management was not easy to work with.
Sorry to have to post this ..but it was probably one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed and I travel a lot.

I have managed this condo for 12 years now and it has always been my number priority to make sure that my guest are happy, always treat them with respect and to make sure the condo is clean and in good working condition. We use a professional cleaning service and I had inspected the unit before her stay and it was clean. If you read my reviews, This renter is the only one that has said so many bad things about me and the condo, so if I am so horrible, why is she the first after 12 years?
Her review is mean spirited and vindictive and this is why: She had difficulty with the coffee maker, heaters, logging into the router from her computer, using the lock box and the TV. She called or texted me each time and I responded to everyone and did so in a respectful and helpful manner. After the 10th day of her stay, she told me that the TV had not been working, if I don't hear anything, then I cannot fix the problem. We set a time and I went to fix the TV, but the first thing that I notice is that she had the lock-box on the stairs and I told her to put it back on the door. The TV cable was disconnected from the box, I fixed the problem and had to show her 5 times how to use the TV and cox cable. All these items are in good working order and no one else has had these problems.
A few days later she called me telling me she had locked herself out, I told her to come and get the key from me, but she instead hired a lock smith, I then told her to only let them pick the lock, but he replaced the dead bolt with a cheap unit and he charged her a substantial fee. Then I get another email saying the TV was not working again and that she in not happy and will write me a bad review. After she checked out, I went and tested the TV and it was working fine. I have had a lot of people stay at the condo, everyone seams to be able to use everything with out any problems, except when something is broken, then I fix or replace it. It just feels like to me that she is mad that she had problems using the TV, etc. and wants to blame that on me and not take responsibly for herself. I think that she is also really unhappy about paying the locksmith and I would be too, but she decided this on her own and it was completely unavoidable.
I am really sorry that you had such a bad time, but I was always there to help you and I even made you a document on how to use the TV and Cox Cable. I wish only the best for you.
My overall experience of the condo and the town Carpinteria was very relaxing. We enjoyed the place because we could walk to shops, beaches and the park. The owner was very kind and quick to respond with questions.
Wonderful place to stay in Carpinteria next to the excellent salt marsh and half a block from the beach. There are lots of opportunities to see bird and animal life. Carp is close to excellent cultural and entertainment opportunities in Santa Barbara and Ventura. It is a very good walking town. We will be back next year. The condo is very nice and comfortable and an excellent home to stay in.
We loved this little condo!! Although it is small, it suited my family of 4 just perfectly! We loved the quick walk to the beach and town. We also loved that we were able to walk 5 minutes to the train station to take the train to Santa Barbara. Carpinteria is such a quaint little beach community it is perfect for a beach get away!! We will definitely be back and will absolutely stay in this condo!!
Condo was as good as expected. Location was very good. Restaurants and shops in a walkable distance and right next to the beach. Communication with Mike Farris was very good. We would definetely come back again!
The unit was clean and steps away from the beach. It had all the necessary amenities for a great stay. I would rent this unit again.

A nice place to stay that is very close to the beach!
We stayed here for a week in early August - family of 4 with two girls (7 & 4).
Size - The place is a little small but still very functional - you can definitely make it work. Very clean, well organized, and pretty much everything you need. The condo is well represented by the description online. We used the kitchen daily and the grill outside came in handy.
Cost - It's one of the cheapest locations that we found online for being that close to the beach. I think it's well worth the cost.
Location - Perfect location. It's a block from the beach and there are public bathrooms at the midpoint. The outdoor showers there weren't working which was a bummer but not a major deal. The condo is on a street that abuts a marsh, so: 1) it's very quiet, unlike the downtown area a few blocks away 2) there are beautiful views, sunsets, trails within a 2 minute walk from the door. As mentioned, it's close enough to downtown - 10 minute walk to restaurants, stores, and a playground. For some reason all of the stores close at like 5:30 which is dumb, but what can you do.
Overall: The place is small but cozy and well worth the money. You wouldn't want to spend the entire day in the place but why are you at the beach if you want to do that anyway. It's perfect for meals, lazy mornings, movie nights, and sleeping - otherwise you're at the beach, downtown, or somewhere else outside. Definitely recommend and will most likely return

Darling place, great location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Sandpiper. The design is fresh and inviting, and the place is only 1 block from the beach. There are some water toys provided, as well as beach chairs, beach towels and umbrellas. The kitchen has everything you'll need to feel right at home. I slept on the sofa bed, and my two kids slept in the cozy loft. It was perfect for our "before school getaway"! I recommend you bring your bikes, park your car, and never drive the whole time you're here. Restaurants and shopping are walking distance from the condo. Mike, the manager, has been wonderful to work with...very friendly and got back to me right away with any questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Besides being convenient to the Carpinteria City Beach, downtown, the Salt Marsh, hiking trail, the condo complex is friendly and Mike is very responsive to your needs.
For a short term (week) or a month or more, cannot beat this property.

GREAT LITTLE CONDO NEAR THE BEACH AND EXTREMELY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE
The condo was impeccably clean, well stocked and just approximately 200 yards from the beach. It was quiet at night and convenient to downtown Carpinteria, and all the surrounding towns. A great little condo in a great little beach town.
