Loved the property. Wish we had known one of the bathrooms shower was under repair. We made due. Overall, really enjoyed the property.

Thank you for 5 stars! We apologize for the shower we had hoped it would be repaired quickly but found out the repair required removal of downstairs ceiling to access the pipes. We hope to get quotes soon but contractors are hard to find quickly!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. Plenty of room for everyone. The lake was crystal clear. Fun had by all ages. The only real downside was traveling multiple times a week to drop off the garbage. It cost money each time and with 18 of us there, we had to make multiple trips. The only other unfortunate thing was one shower was under construction and boarded up and we were not informed of this prior to arriving. We would definitely come stay here again.

That’s so odd no one has ever had to pay to drop off their trash. I’m wondering if you were using our pass which was hanging by the door. I’ll check on this! Sorry about the shower, a recent problem occurred in the pipes which couldn’t be fixed without tearing out the downstairs ceiling. Fixing after Labor Day week. Thanks for the review! Hoping to see you back soon. We’re almost fully booked for next summer so please reserve early !! I’ll look into trash and happy to reimburse. Justine

So much space! We were able to have our big family all together with plenty of room in a well kept vacation home. The lake is crystal clear and we enjoyed swimming, canoeing and paddling every day. The lawn is huge with plenty of sun and shade so everyone was happy. Loved the hammock! Inside worked well for our large group as well. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and serving and there are numerous eating tables inside and out. The family room has comfy couches, a nice tv and a card table to keep everyone busy and happy.

It's our family's 6th time! We treasure our time there.

This home and location is perfect for our large family ages 2-84. We kayak, fish, canoe, swim all day have campfires, make memories is the best way to describe it. We usually stay there twice a year.

House is a treasure in beautiful location

Beautiful house with lovely grounds on very nice lake allowing a lot of fun in the water. Well equipped kitchen for cooking in and spacious dining room. Plenty of spaces inside for group of 12 to spread out or gather together. Good communication with owner. together. Large lawn accommodated games for all ages. Good communication frtreasure.

Amazing Week

My family, ages 14 to 77 spent a week at this exceptional home and memories were made every day. Everything was there that one would want, weather it was for cooking, entertainment or just plain comfort. The house had many different gathering areas, we never felt crowded. Most of our time was spent outdoors playing lawn games or in the crystal clear lake. Thank you for sharing that treasure with us. Hopefully we will return.

A Mansion on the Lake

Everyone in our group of 12 enjoyed their stay. The ages rnged fron 12 to 80. There was fishing from the dock and the provided canoe, kayak, and SUPs. The ducks and beaver swam by everyday. There was lots of swimming. A nightly fire in the big fire pit. A corn hole tournament of the lagrge green space in front of the house. Also room to set set up a badminton net. Only one hot night, otherwise it was open windows every day and night. The whole house fan really worked pulling in the cool air then pullingg it thru the house. A front screen door would have been nice. Dish washing would have been easier if the light over the sink had worked. A suggestion to the owner is to replace all the interior lights with LEDs. The kitchen was well equipped. Interesting to not there was a great microwave oven! However all the dinner and dessert plates were marked non-microwaveable. Either a knife sharpener or a few more "sharp" knives would have been welcome. Visited the Gillette Castle, needed a reservation so did not get inside. Also visited Mystic, if you go be sure to buy an ice cream at the Drawbridge Ice Cream Shop and say hi to Connor. We also made a trip to the beach! One final wish; it would have been nice if the owner provided a guest book to sign and a history of the house. It was pretty amazing.

So glad your family enjoyed our home and yard. Sorry you didn’t notice the 24 place setting of dishes in the dining room and our wedding dishes in the cabinet under the coffee makers in the kitchen. We do have a new knife set, additionally there has always been a sharpener. I don’t like the light over the sink, too bright. I’m always available by txt to help with any questions during your stay. This property was perfect for our extended family of 18, ages 3-70.

We had a wonderful vacation at this property. So much space with room to spare. We never used the 3rd floor since it was just too hot, but we still had plenty of room for 18 of us. Lived the large yard and the waterfront deck (shaded by the trees) was great. Such a quiet, peaceful place. Thank you for sharing this property!

Perfect for our family, we've been coming for 7 year!

Owners always have a surprise for us to enjoy, a popcorn machine one year, new kayak or fire pit etc. Lake is amazing, clean sandy or rocky bottom. Great size yard for family games like Volleyball or bocci. Our kids love it as well as their grandparents.The house is wonderful, always clean with plenty of space. The balconies are perfect getaways for coffee, reading, quiet times with sunrises to live for!

Thanks! We rent weekly only June-August and are not allowed Weddings on site because of strict zoning laws. We have over 250 Feet of lake frontage, swim, float, canoe, kayak standup paddle board all there for your family's use.

Family Reunion in July 2011

We enjoyed this special home in July of 2011, with a family reunion of 18 people of all ages. We were able to bring our small wood runabout to use on the lake and enjoyed tubing and water skiing. There is a wonderful deck by the water which we enjoyed and the swimming was great, the water cool and clear. The home is well appointed and very large, it was very easy to gather together or find a quiet place to enjoy some solitude. There are wonderful porches and patios outside and a great porch swings to enjoy. This is a wonderful place for a family to gather - truly a lovely and peaceful spot with a large yard and great places to play ! The owners cherish this home so be prepared to care for it well if you choose to stay. I promise it is worth it....we had a wonderful time and will have great memories of this family reunion for many years to come.

Amazing Time!!

Thanks for a great week at your home on Basham Lake. We all (three generations: parents, 3 children and spouses and 9 grandchildren) loved our time there and the house and grounds were great! The kids loved the fishing - everyone caught something and our 9 yr old granddaughter caught a 3 pound bass off the dock using worms as bait! We also enjoyed the many attractions in the area including Gillette Castle and Devil's Hopyard Park. Again, thanks for a great week!

WONDERFUL TIME HAD BY ALL!

Our family ages 4 to 78 spent an incredible week at this memorable home on the lake. We enjoyed every minute and no one wanted to leave! We spent time watching our family swim, fish, float, enjoyed dinners on the porch, had stories around the camp fire. One of my favorite spots was watching the sunrise from the balcony enjoying my coffee and paper. We've already booked next year.
