This private one bedroom casita rests on a large, gated property off Historic Old Santa Fe Trail. The open floor plan features a spacious carpeted king bedroom with two doors leading to the exterior, a living room with french doors that lead to the portal, a full chef's kitchen with a gas stove, a full bath, a dining area, concrete floors, fabulous art, a washer/dryer and a private patio and yard with sunset views. While surrounded by the peaceful and vast New Mexico landscape, you are only a picturesque walk to Canyon Road, downtown and the historic Plaza for food, shopping, galleries, music & all the culture Santa Fe has to offer!

About the Sunset Casita:

The property has been well maintained by our family for 3 generations, since 1929. This contemporary, open floor plan, free standing structure has an interior that is decorated with a mix of historic elegance and modern luxury with walls covered in original artwork. The many windows and skylight create a light and airy atmosphere. The four exterior doors lead to the private patio/yard for your exclusive use, to enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

The interior is complete with concrete floors, a very spacious living room with a day bed/couch, a sizeable bedroom with a king size mattress with high thread count sheets, a European trustero style closet, set of drawers, a full bath, and a well-equipped kitchen suitable for fine cooking.

The kitchen includes a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, gas stove, dishwasher, a large assortment of pots, pans and cookware, chef quality knives, beautiful dinner and glass ware, Keurig, French Press and Italian espresso coffee makers. The wooden dining table seats 4-6 comfortably, and there is another small table for two and a counter with stools.

This modern casita is equipped with high-speed Internet, and a Smart TV in the living room. All windows have silver blinds and some curtains for those restful times when you need it dark and cozy.

The patio includes a traditional portal with a covered full-size dining table to seat 6, a small outdoor couch and chairs and a BBQ grill. The portal has pull down shades for shade from the sun or protection from light rain. The patio has beautiful sunset views!

Every time you drive through the gate, it feels like you are way out in the New Mexican landscape, but you are right in town. We think you will love it and understand why New Mexico is called the Land of Enchantment when you experience the unique, rustic beauty of the high desert, it's cobalt skies and extraordinary sunsets, while staying in this wonderful casita.

Lovely casita
A beautiful casita in a wonderful location. The property manager was always on top of everything and handled a couple of requests immediately. Definitely a place we will return to next time we go to Santa Fe.

Our family has roots in Santa Fe going back to the 1800's, much of it spent on this incredible family property. We are avid travelers; we especially love Italy, the Pacific Northwest, Latin America, NYC and Africa, and have ranged as far from home as Antarctica… but we always love to come home to New Mexico. I am an artist and jeweler and we are closely involved in the Santa Fe Arts community, and always happy to share our knowledge and lifelong experience with the area to help you enjoy your stay.

Why they chose this property

Our property is perfectly located to enjoy all that Santa Fe has to offer, yet very private and peaceful. Our family has lived in the main house (built in 1929) for generations and meticulously cared for the property, including the casita. It is a great place to get a sense of Santa Fe's history & geography. We have easy scenic access to the mountains, so it's an excellent base for exploring the town or the wilderness.

What makes this property unique

Every time you drive through the gate, it feels like you are way out in the New Mexican landscape. As you leave the property you realize you are just up from the plaza, around the corner from the museums and canyon road or poised to head up into the mountains!
