This is a lovely place to stay that is right near Portland. We had a large group and the space and property were great. You are 15-20 from downtown and Hanks is around the corner for convenient food. The house is comfortable and the pool is heated! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a Maine getaway

The house was in great condition and we were provided with everything that we would need on our trip. Marilys was extremely helpful in getting things sorted as well as giving recommendations and suggestions for food, activities, etc. for our large group. The location is fantastic and makes getting in and our of downtown very easy.

The house and host were both great. The home is spacious for many adults. The property is beautiful with many great features outside that make it a complete package. Located in a beautiful area and close to downtown. Will rent again, highly reccomend!

Our group and I had the best stay at this property one could ask for! Not only was the house perfect (super clean, spacious, a hot tub and a pool!), but our host Marilys was wonderful. She made everything super easy on our end! She communicated thoroughly, provided a detailed list of what to expect upon arrival, and even provided us with great recommendations of places to go! I cannot recommend this property enough! 10/10!!

Lovely, comfortable home, walk to the beach!

We returned to this roomy, comfortable home for a second stay. It’s a lovely house, with plenty of space for our extended family, a well equipped kitchen, and a beautiful yard. Walking distance to Higgins Beach, or an easy drive to Portland. We had everything we needed and felt well taken care of!

Great House!

Clean, updates, well stocked, and comfortable house that would be great for several couples or a few families. Our host was quick to respond to any questions and supplied us with lots of details about the property and the surrounding area. We would definitely rent again!

Awesome for large group

Stayed here with 17 adults in May 2023. Everything was as advertised and the property was beautiful, well stocked and had plenty of sleeping space. The owners were very communicative, accommodating and flexible. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful!

Our extended family gathered here for Thanksgiving and the house was wonderful. Well laid out floor plan; nice, well stocked kitchen; large table and living room; enough space for us to be together but not on top of each other. We loved the easy walk to Higgins beach, and on site amenities. Hope to return next year!

90th celebration

We had a great 3 night stay. Pickleball was loads of fun. House was very comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. Only a short walk to the beach. When asked questions, the owner was super reponsive and even provided a very thorough welcome package filled with local things to do, places to visit, restaurant ideas, et al. The back deck for dinner was great, but when it rained dinner inside worke!

Fashionable Farmhouse!

This newly renovated farmhouse was the perfect setting for our group of 12 friends celebrating a milestone birthday.! The living room and dining room easily accommodated our large group and the kitchen is very well stocked.!!! The house is beautifully decorated throughout and all the beds are very comfortable. The bed linens and towels are high end and something you don’t find in most rental properties. Marilys the owner/host is great to work with... she is very responsive, efficient and goes out of her way to make sure you have a great stay!

A wonderful Maine vacation home

We stayed at the Higgins Beach home at the end of July 2025. Our group included 14 adults and 7 GC from six months to 11 years old. We also leased the attached apartment. The property was clean, cozy, comfortable and very quiet. When not exploring the surrounding areas, we spent much of our time in the large pool or playing pickle ball. Meals were enjoyed in the dining room or the outside deck. Except for groceries the kitchen was well-stocked with condiments and everything else needed for cooking. The GC kept busy with play sets that were provided. Despite the large group, we never felt crowded. The owner, Marilys, responded to any question quickly and efficiently. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are returning next year.

Absolutely amazing home!

We had the best time staying at this home! There were 15 women that all fit perfectly in the MOST comfortable beds in the coziest home. Marilys was the nicest person to talk to and helped us have the best time possible. I could not recommend this place enough! We are already planning another trip here!

Didn’t want to leave

We had 10 adults in our group for an annual vacation. This property was so charming! Close proximity to all of the things we wanted to experience for our first trip to Maine! It’s important to note that EVERYONE in our group commented on how comfortable and wonderful the beds are! Marilys was thorough in expectations and input…and gave plenty of recommendations for our foodie adventures! If you are looking to visit Portland but don’t want to be downtown and would like to sleep in some of the most comfortable beds you will ever find…stop here!

Holiday at Higgins Beach Farm

The Higgins Beach farm is a big old house on about 5 acres that has been modernized. Our family of 7 adults and 3 grand-kids ranging in age from 8-12 were very comfortable in the space available without using the optional apartment, and the only person in the large five-beds room was our 12 year old granddaughter. The recent addition of a very nice and large swimming pool was very important to our family; since the days were very warm, and we were happy to make only one visit (15 min walk) to the local beach each day. Seven bikes were available for those that wanted to ride to the beach. The family found a number of day trips that they wanted to do in the surrounding community, and several very nice eat-out places were easily identified in the extensive provided by the host. Marilys, the host, was readily available and totally co-operative in dealing with questions that we encountered during our stay. The only thing that would have improved our stay would have been a few umbrellas in the pool area and on the large and otherwise comfortable back deck. The latter was great for star watching at the end of the day.

Excellent spot - wonderful

We had a wonderful week. It was my family and the house was perfect. Very clean and neat and well appointed. We had a blast in the pool and hot tub. Plenty of space and wonderful beds and bedding. We will be back for sure.
