Herbies Hideaway A Unique Getaway Just 4 Miles From Rickett's Glen State Park.

Herbies Hideaway, located in Sweet Valley, PA is a beautiful four bedroom home with full kitchen, bath and living room with central heat and air conditioning. It is situated on 22 very private wooded acres overlooking the Huntington Creek. It is ideal for family vacations. You will experience a peaceful and quite atmosphere, no noise, no crowds and no traffic. There is also hunting and fishing near by. We are Pet Friendly. This is a Smoke Free Facility. Our kitchen includes refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffeepot, toaster, cooking utensils, dishes, silverware. One bedroom is equipped with a queen bed the other three have double beds and all have a clock, closet or dresser. The only things you need to bring are your own linens, towels and food. Outside you will find a charcoal grill, fire pit, picnic table, swing set and deck. 2 pets per stay allowed with a $10.00 per pet per night fee. Rates are based on number of guests and amount of days staying. No internet available, cell phone service is not reliable and depends on your carrier. Ricketts Glen State Park is less than 5 miles away. COME AND ENJOY SUMMER IN NORTHEAST PA.

This is a two story above ground building. The living area is located on the second floor therefore you must climb a full flight of stairs to access it. There is a set of steps both on the interior and exterior. The lower area is storage only.

Pleasant stay

Herbie's Hideaway was nice. Host was available if anything came up, helpful with information about local sights. The house was nice, kids enjoyed the creek. Rickett's glen state park was great!

A great family place

My daughter and I had a great birthday trip with my grandsons. It is close to Rickett’s Glen, well furnished with comfy couches and beds and a big round kitchen table. There’s a stream right behind the house and a covered picnic area.

Great Setting on a Creek

The house isn’t fancy, but it was clean and had what we needed. The setting in the woods right on the creek is awesome, and we would definitely return.

Lovely Escape in the Woods!

If you are looking to get away, the is the place to go. Completely remote, but still accessible with a normal vehicle. Herbie's is clean, and exactly as advertised, and Marie is a wonderful host.

Golf trip

Perfect getaway for peace and quiet

This property is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy some peace and quiet. Marie was one of the most responsive hosts I've experienced and was available for any questions we had. Take a walk in the woods, fish from the creek or enjoy the cozy warmth of the fire pit. I would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed my stay there even though it was work related, it was very quiet with a creek viewable from the kitchen window or out on the deck. there were plenty of cooking amenities for indoor or outdoor needs. playground equipment for the kids, a fire pit,and covered picnic area .Would be a great get away for a family given the four bedrooms. state park is nearby for hiking walking etc.

Great remote place

Very clean vintage place. No dust, no cobwebs, no funky smells, has central air, and Dish TV. Set far back from the road - surrounded by woods/creek on all sides. Great place to take dogs. Less than five minute drive to Ricketts Glen. Friendly and responsive host.

Dated hideaway

Marie is the sweetest host! She gave an overview of everything in the house and even looked up local attractions for us. We were looking for a place to unplug and that is exactly what we got. The interior is dated but well kept and like walking back in time. My one complaint would be that only 1 bed was comfortable. Overall a lovely stay!

Perfect hideaway!

We had a great time at Herbie's Hideaway! The dog enjoyed playing in the creek and walking around the property every day. We loved how close Rickett's Glen was and had a great time checking out the waterfalls. The rooms were spacious and the couches were comfortable. Could use more lighting in the bathroom, but that's just a minor request. Marie and Rich were great hosts and easy to communicate with. Looking forward to coming back!

So much fun!

I would say Marie’s house is a rustic cabin. It was very clean and had plenty of room. There is a nice round table in the kitchen and we played games. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the living room. The outside was very beautiful at the house. We had a great time hiking at Ricketts Glen. There is a nice little brewery called Five Mountain in Shickshinny PA. The food there was great and the people were nice. It was a really nice trip. Thank you Marie!

Perfect getaway for our golfing foursome biannual trip

Marie was a perfect host! She met with me promptly at the property and gave me a quick tour of the amenities available and house rules. No issues with our stay and each guest having their own large bedroom worked out perfectly. Being off the grid from cellular access was a concern at first, but was a blessing in disguise as it kept everyone off their phones and interacting with one another like we used to and days back. One in our group had enough signal for an occasional phone call on Verizon.
