The house was very nice and perfect for our large family. I was hoping there would be a few more “starter” supplies when we got there. And I had hoped there would be a few beach chairs/toys for us to borrow. But, overall, very nice accommodations and loved being on the beach!

The door to the back deck was very difficult to open, especially being that the first person to open the door was my 7 year old and the handle fell right off. This was the main door we used being that it went right out to the beach. If they replaced the back door I would have no complaints!! We did purchase a couple of skillets and left at the home as we cooked every night and the pots/pans situation was very limited! We had awesome neighbors that also loaned us some of their cookware! Overall though we were very satisfied with our stay and would love to go back tomorrow! 😉

We had a good time and love the area. We like the house but were a little disappointed in a few things - mostly related to housekeeping. We’ve been coming to the area for 10+ years so we have a lot to compare it to. Not a BAD experience but just giving feedback that we notice and consider and wont book your unit again. Most of my family has asthma and there was LOTS of dust - especially in the bathrooms. Lots of dead bugs in all bathrooms when we arrived. All towels had bad stains. Couldnt get all our groceries in the fridge and two of the door shelves were missing. Only about 4 channels on the TV. Couldnt get the outside lights to come on, so called the repairman only to discover that you have to turn a random switch on inside to get the outside switch to work. It wasnt a bad place, but just seemed like it really needed a little xtra TLC.

Reviewer Comments: Our tribe just finished spending a wonderful week at Awbrey House in Gulf Shores! I was thankful for the great directions/details that were provided in advance. We had a question about the pool and also a question about one of the TVs during our stay. Both times, Sunset Properties responded immediately and answered our questions. The pictures really didn't do the property justice. It was actually even nicer than expected! The location was perfect- easy walk to the beach. We were a little worried about the public beach access right next to the house, but it was absolutely no problem. We had plenty of room and never felt crowded on the beach... even over the 4th of July! I always bring my own kitchen items... but one suggestion would be to upgrade the knife set. It was pretty terrible. I would also suggest adding some family style size serving dishes in the kitchen and more prep/mixing bowls. We found a vacuum on the second floor, but a second vacuum on the main floor would be handy.Bonus: the grandkids appreciated the beach items that we found in the outside closet!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Working with Sunset properties was a great experience. I received communication timely, and they responded to me immediately. I received a text with door code, wifi passwords, etc. the day before our arrival, so I didn't need to ask. The big deck, easy walk to the water, and easy location to town (restaurants) were absolutely ideal. There were a couple of very minor issues with ruined skillets (people, please don't use forks with nonstick skillets - even if they aren't yours!) but was assured they would be replaced immediately. The upstairs guest shower was slow, and the kitchen sink was grimy. None of this ruined our trip - or even slowed us down. Thanks for a great experience.

Clean but dated and beware of location

Property was clean and check in was very smooth -- good size and beds were very comfortable -- the house had signs of being a fun cozy place a few years ago but now the property is dated and there are a few key things broken (and not repaired from previous renters) -- fans out, light broken, bulbs burned out, refrig broken, wooden luggage racks cracked and broken -- we called at check-in and we were told repair team would be there but they did not show up -- they came a day and a half later unannounced -- carpet is getting really dirty and worn on stairs and looks older --no umbrella for outside table and it sun facing all day so you cook out there with out shade -- chairs on upper deck from master bedroom are broken and cannot be used -- first floor shower does not drain -- minimal appliances like pots and pans --refrigerator ice maker is broken and makes an ongoing grinding noise -- one coffee maker that was working but it is an old $20 Walmart version -- slow and dirty -- there is another ice maker but it is small and more than 3 or 4 folks can drain it of ice pretty quickly -- this house is down the beach from the busy part of the condos which looked good on map BUT what we could not see is that it is right next to the public ramp for the beach -- lots of folks and noise going back and forth at all times of day and night -- loud music, various forms of language from folks who have been drinking which was very common on that part of the beach AND flashlights were often shined into the house from folks going back and forth after dark at all hours of the night --and trash from them is thrown down into the house area -- few folks did not want to climb stairs to the public ramp so they came across sand and walked under house -- we got a mouth full when we asked them to walk around -- not very private location and need to keep beach stuff locked and secured at all times

The ice maker in the frezer did not work and the small ice maker was not clean. The fan in the master was broken, as were the chairs on the master balcony. This was our second stay and the dish washer was the same last stay. We like the location.
