About this property

Impressions Cottage - 3BR, Quiet, Cozy, and Newly-Renovated at Acadia's Doorstep

Welcome to Impressions Cottage! As long-time residents and business owners in the Northeast Harbor community, we are thrilled to welcome you to our home. Here, you will be blocks away from the boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, and other amenities on Main Street with Acadia National Park and its 200+ miles of stunning carriage roads, hiking trails, and bike paths just 1.5 miles from our door. Bustling Bar Harbor, whale watching tours, and Cadillac Mountain are just a 20-minute drive away. Mount Desert Island is home to three 18-hole golf courses and endless varieties of watersports. You won't have any trouble filling your time.

The cottage is a recently redecorated space owned by locals that aims to offer you a memorable Downeast experience. Nautical accents and an abundance of natural light, all in a residential setting, will help you ease into vacation mode.
The cottage has a fully-equipped kitchen that includes a five-burner electric stove, full-size oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, full-size refrigerator/freezer, sink, dishes, glasses, mugs, utensils, pots and pans. A separate dining area and comfortable living space makes the cottage a perfect setting for gathering with close friends and family. We encourage you to make use of our gas grill for cooking on the patio.

The cottage has fast wireless broadband internet and a 50” UHD Smart TV so you can use your Netflix login to watch your favorite shows. A gas fireplace and driftwood table (pulled from Some's Sound in the 1970s) accent the space eloquently. As outdoor enthusiasts ourselves, the cottage is also stocked with field guides, maps, and books about the area's natural beauty. Plenty of parking is available in the private driveway and on-street for your convenience.

We offer three bedrooms. The master bedroom features a new king-size, gel foam mattress with luxurious bedding and ample natural light. A second room includes a full-size bed and closet. Our third bedroom includes a bunk bed set with a full and twin-sized bed for all of your group’s needs. The main bathroom includes a tub and stand-up shower, and a second rustic half-bath is available in the basement. There are laundry facilities on-site should your clothes get muddy during a rainy outing in the Park.

Our cleaners are a certified green cleaning company with the International Janitorial Cleaning Services Association. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have added precautionary measures of cleaning and disinfecting with a 10 minute contact time for all surfaces, so you can rest assured that the cottage will be properly sanitized prior to arrival.

Come see for yourself what makes this area so special. We're looking forward to your stay!

**Please note: bookings in July and August are Sunday-Sunday only with a 7 night minimum**

FAQs:

Q: How close is the cottage to Acadia National Park?
A: Great question! Many first-time visitors think that the only way to get into Acadia is through the Park Loop Road in Bar Harbor, but in reality the park is spread out all over Mount Desert Island (and beyond) and is connected via the extensive Carriage Road and trail system. The closest access point (and our favorite) is the Brown Mountain Gatehouse, just 1.5 miles from our doorstep!

Q: How many vehicles can I park?
A: The driveway has a capacity for up to three vehicles.

Q: Is early check-in available?
A: Unfortunately we are unable to offer early check-in as we almost always have a group checking out the same day as the next one arrives. We need the entire time between groups to properly clean and prepare the space for your arrival.

Q: Are pets allowed?
A: No, pets are not allowed at Impressions Cottage.

Q: What if the weather is bad/the Park is crowded? Can I cancel?
A: Our cancellation policy allows for a full refund up to 14 days ahead of arrival and a 50% refund between 7 and 14 days. Just as our guests expect to have their reservations honored, we also rely on consistent bookings to continue operations and do not have the ability to absorb last-minute cancellations as many hotels do. Though we can't control the weather, the Mount Desert Island area has lots of rainy-day activities to keep you entertained any time of the year!

Q: How far away is Bar Harbor, groceries, etc?
A: Distances to local attractions from Impressions Cottage:

Bar Harbor (restaurants, grocery store, hospital, etc.): 11 miles / 20 minutes
Brown Mountain Gatehouse (and entrance to Acadia): 1.5 miles / 4 minutes
Bangor (big-box stores, airport): 51 miles / 1 hour 15 minutes
Downtown Northeast Harbor (restaurants, bars, shops): 0.3 miles / 2 minutes
Ellsworth (shopping, supplies): 20 miles / 31 minutes
EV Charger (Level 2): 0.9 miles / 3 minutes (located at Town Marina)
New England Outdoor Center/Baxter State Park (for white water rafting, moose watching, climbing Mt. Katahdin): 131 miles / 2 hours 30 minutes
Northeast Harbor Fleet: 0.7 miles / 3 minutes
Northeast Harbor Golf Club: 1.3 miles / 4 minutes
Northeast Harbor Swim Club: 0.3 miles / 1 minute
Northeast Harbor Tennis Club: 0.6 miles / 2 minutes
Portland (city & airport): 178 miles / 3 hours

Note: For safety and security, we have motion-activated security cameras on the exterior of the property which will be active during all stays.

So quiet and so comfortable.
Everything you can ask for in a vacation rental and more. The neighborhood is exceptional and a 1/2 mile walk to the downtown shops and marina. Access to popular Bar Harbor and Acadia NP makes this a great base for exploring the Mt Desert Island area.

Great place!
We loved this clean home in a quiet neighborhood, close to every thing we wanted to see, not off the well-worn path. The house was clean and cozy—so good we found it.
