Perfect stay

This is by far the nicest gite we have ever stayed in. It is extremely well equipped and comfortable. It is set in a huge, beautiful shady garden with an amazing swimming pool. The hosts, Sophie and Jean-Claude, were so friendly and helpful, advising us on day trips and the best places to buy seafood. There is a great pizzeria, bakery and grocery store next to the gite. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended

French wild garden

The garden is fantastic! Great big pool. The property is so typical French! In the kitchen you find everything you need: salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, thea, olive oil… The owners are very nice and you can ask them anything. The gardenchairs were less comfortabel but that is the only minus. Very quiet village and ideal startpoint to visit all the islands. Nice and quiet beach at a 3 min drive.

Beautiful house and gite, very wooded setting

We very much enjoyed our stay at la Gloriette. It's a lovely property in a pretty, very quiet village which nevertheless had all local amenites. Rochefort is the nearest big town, and is also lovely, and we were able to hire bikes from there - although they didn't deliver them. La Gloriette is also ideally placed for some beautiful beaches at Port des Barques and Ile Madam - and of course has a large and sunny pool. The property had everything you could need, and Sophie and Jean-Claude were very friendly, welcoming and helpful - but equally kept out of the way. The huge garden is very wooded, providing lots of shade on hot days. Perhaps the only downside was that the garden furniture outside the gite - deck chairs - wasn't terribly comfortable. The pool side recliners were excellent though.

Spendide malgré le temps mitigé

Logement très précisemment décrit et documenté dans l'annonce. Sophie et très accueillante. Elle a même pensé à un bouquet d'accueil sur la table! Merci. Logement indépendant accolé au bâtiment du propriétaire, au centre du village, enmtouré d'un mur d'enceinte, une immense propriété boisée, avec une piscine extérieure. L'intérieur est très bien équipé. La cuisine est complète avec 2 fours, lave-vaisselle, lave/sèche-linge, couverts et services en quantité,.. Deux salles d'eau complètes, y compris étendoirs à linges. Deux spacieuses chambres à coucher avec vue sur le parc arboré. Salon avec un superbe décor coloré. Place de parc à l'intérieur de l'enceinte, mais à l'autre bout du parc. Le village est assez "excentré", à l'écart. L'avantage de cet inconvénient est un calme absolu. Magasins 'alimentation super U et intermarché sur la route menant au village depuis la départementale. La saison se "termine" partout fin septembre/début octobre. Attention aux restaurants fermés. Mais aussi... moins de touriste, moins de circulation, tarif réduit pour 'île de Ré! C'était super, un grand merci!

Sehr schöne Auszeit

Wir genossen sehr die ruhige Lage, den Swimmingpool, und Sophie's Freundlichkeit. Der Ort liegt mitten im Nirgendwo, aber das ist zum Ausspannen genau das Richtige. Er verfügt nur über einen kleinen Supermarkt und eine Bäckerei (auf die Öffnungszeiten aufpassen!). Wir haben auch ein paar Mal Portes-des-Barques (sehr schön) und Rochefort (lohnt sich nicht wirklich) besucht. Ein paar Probleme hatten wir mit Mücken. Vielleicht wären Insektenschutzgaze vor den Fenstern hilfreich.

Zeer vriendelijke host, erg schoon en compleet huis in schitterende tuin met mooi zwembad. Aan alle details is gedacht, fijne keuken, smaakvol ingericht. Host is goed bereikbaar voor informatie of vragen. Genoten!

Urlaub im "Garten Eden"

Diese Ferienwohnung auf zwei Ebenen liegt im hinteren Teil eines großen, alten Landguts mit einem riesigen Garten, der an eine uralte Kirche mit Friedhof grenzt. Der wundervolle Garten voller Schmetterlinge und interessanter Bäume und Sträucher wurde von den Eigentümern, die im vorderen Teil des Landguts wohnen, liebevoll und sehr naturbelassen angelegt. Kernstück des ganzen ist der wundervolle Pool, der den Urlaub sehr versüßt. Die Eigentümer sind sehr umsichtig und um das Wohl ihrer Gäste besorgt. Die Wohnung ist komplett und sehr schön eingerichtet, es fehlt an nichts, weder in der Küche noch in den beiden geschmackvoll eingerichteten Bädern. Fußläufig gibt es einen Bäcker, der vormittags geöffnet hat, einen Mini-Market, eine Pizzeria und ein kleines Restaurant. Urlauber sollten wissen, dass man von hier aus, wenn man Strandurlaub geplant hat, ziemliche Strecken fahren muss, um an wirklich schöne Strände (z.B. La Palmyre) zu gelangen. Touristisch ist diese Region im Vergleich zu anderen Regionen noch recht unerschlossen. Das hat seinen eigenen Charme. Naturliebhaber kommen hier auf ihre Kosten. Inseln wie die Ile Madame, Ile d`Aix und Ile d`Oleron sind für Tagesausflüge zu empfehlen. Auch La Rochelle ist in einer halben Stunde zu erreichen. Tatsächlich kann man aber auch einfach tagelang auf diesem wunderschönen Anwesen verweilen und nichts tun. Wir danken Sophie und Jean-Claude für die schöne Zeit, die wir in ihrem "Garten Eden" hatten.

Nous avons passé 3 semaines merveilleuses dans le gïte de Sophie et Jean Claude, des hötes parfaits, sympathiques, bienveillants et attentionnés sans ëtre envahissants...Le gïte est situé dans une propriété magnifique . Rien ne manquait, y compris la lessive, les produits vaisselle, le papier toilette etc... Nous espérons pouvoir y retourner dès que possible! Merci encore à Sophie et Jean Claude

Charmante maison tout confort

Avons été accueilli par les propriétaires des lieux grâce à des contacts en amont. La maison est spacieuse, bien équipée et agréablement décorer. Linge de maison sur place, un plus en soi! Beaucoup de village et cotes à découvrir aux alentours.

Superbe séjour au calme

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour avec notre bébé de 8mois. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le parc arboré et la piscine, immenses tous les deux. Les commodités sont à deux pas et le logement est très fonctionnel. Enfin et surtout nous avons apprécié l'accueil de Sophie et Jean-Claude, ils savent équilibrer disponibilité, (pour des conseils et des demandes particulières) et discretion . Merci encore

Ein tolles Objekt, sehr sauber, liebevoll eingerichtet mit allen Annehmlichkeiten. Wir haben nichts vermisst. Der Garten sowie der Pool sind herrlich, es lässt sich dort gut erholen. Die Unterkunft liegt nicht weit von sehenswerten Orten (Transporteur, Insel Aix, Rochefort) entfernt. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und achten die Privatsphäre. Schade, dass wir so wenig Französisch sprechen können. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Merveilleux séjour

Je vous recommande sans hésiter ce gîte et ses propriétaires. Charmés par les photos dans un 1er temps, nous avons été totalement convaincus par la réalité. La propriété est parfaite pour trouver du calme au milieu de la verdure. Le gîte est aménagé et décoré avec beaucoup de goût et d’une très grande propreté et d’un grand confort. Par chance nous avons eu une semaine magnifique qui nous a permis de profiter de la piscine. Nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement par la propriétaire. Si nous devions revenir dans cette belle région notre choix est déjà fait.

Un havre de paix

Cette magnifique maison dans un parc avec piscine possède de très beaux arbres. La cuisine est moderne et bien équipée. Le confort des deux chambres spacieuses à l'étage possèdent un grand lit chacune, vous permettant de passer de très bonnes nuits au calme. La propriété très bien situé au cœur du village, vous permet de découvrir la région facilement et le chant des oiseaux du jardin vous accompagne tout au long de votre séjour. J'ai beaucoup aimé ce lieu et j'espère y retourner bientôt ☀️ Merci Sophie !
