Summary:
Only 5 minutes from downtown Chattanooga, Gabriele offers a private hot tub, a furnished back deck, a covered front deck with a charcoal grill, and a private fire pit. It can comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests, with a main bedroom and sleeping loft.
The Space:
Wauhatchie Woodlands is a family-owned collection of quaint, tiny-home, rustic-comfort log cabins on a 14-acre wooded property surrounded by National Park land. This natural setting is nested less than a mile from the city with quick access to downtown Chattanooga, Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, and the surrounding area.
Named after Frank & Nicole's Italian host-son, Gabriele (Gabe for short) is equipped with everything you could ever need to make the most of your time in Chattanooga.
Gabriele is one of our delightful rustic cabins. During your stay, you’ll enjoy a private hot tub, furnished back deck, covered front with charcoal grill, shared fire pit, and an incredibly memorable, charming space surrounded by nature.
Gabriele can comfortably sleep up to 4 guests between the main bedroom and sleeping loft. The cabin is equipped with a full kitchen, smart TV, private washer dryer combo, & more.
Starting from the back, you’ll find the fully furnished deck, surrounded by decades-old trees, there awaits a space of pure relaxation, your private hot tub, with easy access to the main bedroom. Just off the deck is the shared fire pit and picnic pavilion, perfect for fireside chats and evening s'mores. Firewood can be purchased on-property.
Inside, the main bedroom hosts a queen bed, closets for hanging clothes, lots of drawer storage, and a Smart TV. Just outside the bedroom is your dedicated washer and dryer combo unit on one side and the full bathroom with bathtub on the other.
A step further we enter the kitchen, fully stocked for cooking/dining with an electric range, microwave, stove, full-size fridge, dishwasher, and all the dishes you need to whip up a vacation feast. The living room and kitchen feature an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings with the main TV across from the sofa.
Up the staircase is the sleeping loft equipped with two twin beds. Kids will love having their own space. For grownups, clearance in the loft is low, just 4' - it’s perfect for sleeping, just watch your head when you get up.
Gabe's covered front porch with dining set is the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee, or grilling out on your dedicated charcoal grill (guests must provide their own charcoal).

This was just as described and just what we needed for a short getaway now too far from home. Loved the cabin and how secluded you feel yet close to everything! The cabin has everything you need. We definitely plan to visit again!

Love to hear that Sheila. We look forward to your next visit.
There were a few quirks that made it 4 stars instead of 5, however, overall it is a nice facility!

Fantastic! Perfect spot for our family of 4. The kids loved the upstairs loft and hot tub. The home was clean, comfortable and has everything needed for a stay in Chatt. 5 minutes from Ruby Falls and Main St with lots of food and brewery options. The setting was everything, carefully tucked away in the woods. We loved it!!

This cozy cabin is the perfect spot for a retreat. It’s quiet and secluded, but just moments from downtown Chattanooga and many attractions. The cabin was very clean and well-stocked. We enjoyed using the charcoal grill and the hot tub. It was a great place to relax and unwind in the evenings after exploring the area during the day. Definitely would stay here again.

Beautiful scenery and I loved the rustic vibe. We felt like we were in the forest, but were, in reality minutes away from everything we needed. It’s a good central location to explore Chattanooga. We were no more than 30 minutes away from pretty much everything we wanted to explore.
Cute tiny house in quiet tiny house community. Close to grocery store and area attractions. My kids loved the hot tub, fire pit, and the community cat (Arthur, they named it).
This was the PERFECT little get away! The cabin was beautiful. Staff was amazing— communication was great— check in/out was super smooth! Everything about it was perfect! The location was very convenient. We will definitely be coming back next year! I 100% recommend!

We loved our stay at Gabriel’s cabin! It is modern, cozy, and has everything you would need all while being only 10-15 minutes away from numerous coffee shops and great restaurants. We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, yet had everything we could want a short drive away. The hot tub was also a great perk for the more chilly evenings! We will definitely be back!

Thank you for the 5-star review, George! We are glad you still enjoyed you time with us while dealing with bees and train noise. We thank you for working with us to get the issue resolved, and hope you made use of the noise machine and ear plugs we provide for each cabin. We appreciate you being our guest and hope you will join us here in Chattanooga again soon!
We did enjoy our stay. We were busy the whole time that we only got to use the hot tub the last night we where there.
Being that close to the railroad tracts was not noticeable inside the cabin, we would sit on the deck and could hear them. The only time it got loud was when the Engine car was going by.
we cook a lot of our own meals, so we could have used some larger pots. But that was not a problem for us, and no need to bother anyone.
I am a coffee-holic, so the small coffee pot was running nonstop... LOL!!!
The staff we seen were very friendly and helpful!
Very clean. Peaceful and great place to stay!! I’ll definitely be back!!

About the host
Hosted by Timberroot Rustic Retreats
I have loved world travels my entire life; though as father of 8 kids, our movements have been more limited of late. I am an entrepreneur and business owner, lover of history, plants, nature, my faith, philosophy, and my family. We love Chattanooga for too many reasons to list, but also cherish variety and the beauty so many places in the world have to offer.
As hosts, you will find us responsive and accommodating and eager to share the treasures of our town and learn the treasures of your own. We know the trails, many waterfalls, parks, restaurants, and attractions of Chattanooga quite well and are willing to be a resource for our guests, offering an intimate knowledge of the area.
As a traveler, on business I tend to work, read and rest if I can, and prefer to travel with associates or family when I can. As a vacationer, I am eager to share and celebrate the diversity of creation and humanity with my family and to give them an explorers heart, a warmth for difference, and a bit of zeal for travel too. I prefer National Parks to cities, but cities carry their own attraction. I prefer mountains to beaches, forests to fields, and local to corporate or suburban.
Why they chose this property
This was an old trailer park. We saw great potential for it, as a gem of a natural setting so incredibly close to the city. We offer a natural escape right on Lookout by the beautiful city of Chattanooga with unique and modern rustic comfort for the perfect mountain side stay.
