About this property
Lianna Bungalow - One Bedroom Apartment, Sleeps 2
Lianna Bungalow is a self-contained one-bedroom retreat set within a beautifully renovated 1920s Auburn property, behind a classic white picket fence on Frederick Place.
The bungalow is completely independent. It has its own entrance, its own private garden and everything you need for a comfortable stay without sharing any living space.
Inside, two sets of north-facing bifold doors flood the open-plan living and dining area with light and open directly onto the private garden. At 3m, the ceilings give the space a generous, airy feel. Polished concrete floors run throughout, and a combustion heater anchors the living area, set against an ornate red brick feature wall, alongside a reverse-cycle split system and ceiling fans for year-round comfort.
The kitchen is well equipped: induction cooktop, granite benchtops, butler's sink, dishwasher and full cooking facilities. The generous bedroom is divided by plantation shutters for privacy. The bathroom is finished in terrazzo with a frameless glass shower, dual vanity and motion-sensor lighting, and it's fully wheelchair accessible throughout.
The property also has EV charging capacity.
Auburn is a proper Clare Valley town. Taylors Winery is nearby, boutique cellar doors are within minutes, and the Riesling Trail is easily accessible by bike. The town has cafes, a pub, an IGA and a petrol station. Adelaide is 1 hour 20 minutes away. Guests have exclusive, private use of the bungalow for the duration of their stay. The bungalow has its own dedicated entrance, separate from the main cottage. Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out by 10 am, with self-check-in via lockbox. Full arrival instructions are provided before your stay. A shared external laundry and three-car carport are also available.
Lianna Bungalow is managed by Blocks Road. The bungalow is fully self-contained and set up for a private, independent stay. We're available by phone or message throughout your visit if you need local recommendations or any assistance.
Auburn is one of the Clare Valley's most charming towns. A proper country town with an IGA, cafes, a pub, a petrol station and that unhurried pace that makes the region so easy to settle into.

About the host
Hosted by Andrew Quixley
The custodians of this Auburn property renovated the bungalow as part of a broader transformation of the 1920s site, bringing the same attention to detail they applied to the main cottage. Terrazzo floors, plantation shutters, granite benchtops and a red brick feature wall give the bungalow real character without sacrificing practicality. Blocks Road is proud to offer it as a private, self-contained retreat for guests exploring the Clare Valley.
Why they chose this property
Lianna Bungalow stood out for its quality and independence. As a fully self-contained dwelling with its own entrance, private garden and thoughtful finishes (terrazzo bathroom, granite kitchen, combustion heater, north-facing bifold doors), it offers guests a genuinely private retreat rather than just a room. Its position in Auburn, at the gateway to the Clare Valley, makes it a natural fit for the Blocks Road collection.
