This is a gorgeous property on the shore of Westport Pond where eagles, osprey, loons, herons, ducks, geese and white tailed deer can be seen out every window. The Westport Pond is an amazing bird, fish and wildlife sanctuary. This is one of the most tranquil and convenient locations you will find.

A special feature of this location is its appeal to Bird Watchers. We include a Haiku Box which details an ongoing list of all species heard each day. One of the most peaceful places we've ever been. The cottage was lovely and felt bigger than the pictures led us to believe. The hammock was a favorite in our group and the salt-water hottub was perfect, with views of the gorgeous pond and surrounding forest.

This village retreat is everything it is advertised to be! It is clean, quiet, and very comfortable. I was in the area for a work trip, but in the evenings it felt like I was on vacation. From the hot tub I watched deer and hummingbirds, and ate my meals in the screened in porch. The location is serene and private, while also close to all amenities in Westport. You will love staying at Marty and Sandy’s, who are nearby and quick to respond to any questions!

Very relaxing!! A pleasant bird sanctuary; I saw bald eagles, golden eagles, northern harrier, blue herons, geese, gulls, gray catbird, goldfinches, red wing blackbirds, cardinals and others I don't recognise. In the creek you'll see many little fishes. Across, we saw deers. Lots of space in the cottage; you don't feel cramped. The king bed mattress is very comfortable. The sunroom type porch is pleasant; great space to take your coffee in the morning and watch the bird show. The friendly host responds quickly to any concerns. We had a really relaxing and pleasant stay. Thanks Marty.

Marty and Sandy have deep roots in Westport and the surrounding Rideau Lakes region living here full time and raising our family since 1989. We built this home on the original footprint of the "Tooley House" which was built in 1862. We now live a new home on this same property and are now able to share it's beauty with others. This a place that reflects the way we live: connected to nature, to community, and to the rhythms of this remarkable corner of Ontario. Marty is a local musician and municipal councillor. Sandy is an active yoga and mindfulness teacher and environmentalist.
