There is something special about staying in a historic village where you can enjoy peaceful walks through the forest, explore the local area, and then return to the comfort of your own retreat.
We enjoy hosting and take pride in providing guests with a clean, comfortable and well-appointed place to stay. We hope our guests enjoy Blackwood as much as we do and have a relaxing and memorable time here.

Why they chose this property

My wife Vera and I first came to Blackwood in 1979 to live and run the historic Blackwood Cobb & Co restaurant. We fell in love with the village, its beautiful forest setting and the wonderful community, and loved every minute of our time here.

Blackwood has a unique charm, surrounded by the Wombat State Forest and the Lerderderg River, with beautiful walks, historic buildings and a relaxed country atmosphere right on your doorstep.

Our long connection with Blackwood is one of the reasons we chose to offer our home as a holiday retreat. We hope our guests enjoy the peace, natural beauty and special character of Blackwood as much as we have over the years.

What makes this property unique

What makes our property truly unique is its history. Built in the 1840s, this beautiful building has been an important part of Blackwood’s history for generations.

It began life as a general store and became a hub for the local community. From the late 1960s, it was transformed into Blackwood’s coffee shop and restaurant, while retaining its wonderful historic Cobb & Co colonial character.

Today, the building has been thoughtfully adapted into a comfortable holiday retreat, while preserving many of the features and charm that reflect its fascinating past.

Staying here is more than simply having somewhere to sleep — it is an opportunity to experience a genuine piece of historic Blackwood, right in the heart of the magical township and surrounded by the beautiful Wombat State Forest.
