Kitchen is well equipped with most all that you would need to prepare for meals with the family. There is a gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, Keurig, utensils, dishes, cups and a good amount of counter space!
Clothes washer and dryer are in the hallway and available for your use.
Patio has a gas grill, table and chairs for enjoying those quiet evenings outside enjoying the Black Hills.
The back yard is spacious enough for a family football game! There is a very small pond in the back yard. NO FISH though ... the pond has proved to be too shallow for winter life!

If Trailside doesn't meet your needs exactly take a look at Cozy Creekside Cottage. Creekside is a little smaller but still well stocked and just walking distance from the amenities of Custer City. The VRBO listing number for Creekside is 1160594.

Home away from home
We enjoyed our stay here so much that we changed our ideal vacation days next year to accommodate what they have open. Great communication, clean, stocked with the basics and more! Outdoor patio with a gas fire pit for the evening was so relaxing. Truly a home away from home for us!

Great spot!
We thoroughly enjoyed this roomy cabin! Space for so many people - great for families and bigger groups. Well-stocked kitchen and adorably decorated. Conveniently close to the town of Custer, but far enough away to be a more quiet, private setting. We will be back!

Great for families
This was our second time renting tranquil trailside, our stay was just as great as the first time. House is clean, beds are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/griddles/coffee makers/toaster/waffle maker/sheet pans ect.) Backyard is plenty big for outdoor play (we brought our own outdoor games), back patio is a great spot for eating and relaxing. Plenty of towels, toilet paper, paper towels and soaps to get you started. House is outside of town, but close enough for a quick run in if needed. Close to all attractions. Owners take a lot of pride in this house and are wonderful hosts. Would rent again if in the area.

Black Hills Getaway
Very cute house. Ideal location to setup base camp and explore the Black Hills. Can’t beat the view off the back porch!! Drinking a cup of coffee and watching the Deer play across the meadow. What a wonderful home. Definitely recommend staying here. We will be back!

A few years ago my wife and I needed to get away ... just a little breather from the big city. Custer was only 6hrs away so we loaded up the truck and headed up. We were enjoying a relaxing ride on the 1880 train (scenic train ride out of Hill City) when we saw the sign of a house for sale. Just for grins, giggles and dreams we looked up the listing and thought it affordable. We had a 4 day trip planned and it turned into 6 and a contract with a realtor. (Just have to put in a plug here for the most loveable realtor in Custer, Anne Fuchs) Well we loved the place so much we purchased a place for us and a place for others to come and hopefully fall in love with the Black Hills just like we did.

Why they chose this property

Tranquil Trailside is close to Custer, only 5 miles, on a paved road, and only a hundred yards from the famous and historic Mickelson Trail.

What makes this property unique

Trail access is right out the back yard.
