If you are looking for a central walkable location to Salona beach with great restaurants between Del Mar and Encinitas, this is the place. The cottage is lovely, clean and quiet. We enjoyed our four-day stay.

We enjoyed having you stay in our Casita. You guys have to be one of our more professional beach goers! You showed up w/some serious gear for committed water front beach day! Love it! Glad everything was close, convenient and to your liking. Please come see us again!
This is a very nice Casita in a quiet area of Solana Beach. The place was clean, within walking distance of the beach, the Coaster station(train), great restaurants and shops and the bed was very comfortable. Nina was very responsive to communication. There is an amazing Thai massage place just 2 blocks away that I highly recommend, as well. I will definitely be back!! Thanks Nina.
Plenty of space for two (indoor and out) and terrific location! We had a very nice stay and love the two pups.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location
The headline issue is the walk-in access. The entrance is a gate in the back corner of an adjacent commercial parking lot. One must scoot by between a parked car and a dumpster, or behind the car, like a foot clearance. Then proceed down a step behind the dumpster. It is lighted by a motion sensitive light, that came on just as I tripped down the step. This place is small. An odd arrangement with the kitchen and bathroom 3 steps above the rest of the place. There is scant room to get around the end of the bed without hooking the ceiling fan controls. I have seen larger bath lavatories on small boats. The house has a generally musty smell. It is well equipped. It was adequate for our needs. It is a nice location. The parking is on street which sometimes means parking on the next block.I have stayed in a number of VRBOs in the area. This one is the one I would be least likely to rent again.

Thank you for your feedback. Casita Sirena is a unique, vintage beach bungalow with a charming, unconventional layout, as reflected in its description and photos. The private entrance and outdoor access are part of the property’s setting, and the motion-activated lighting is provided for guests’ safety. While the casita is cozy, it is thoughtfully equipped and loved by guests for its character and exceptional Solana Beach location. We are proud of our longstanding five-star guest ratings and regret that this particular stay did not meet your personal preferences.
Excellent accommodations for our quick trips up and down the coast as well a our concert at the BellyUp Bar. Fun town...great host!

Thank you for staying with us at our Casita Serena. Hope you were able to enjoy some seaside walks & a cool dip in the pacific. Guests are able to log into their cable, or any steaming app. &/or mirror to the Casitas Smart or Apple T.V.
Thanks again for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon. Nina
Beautiful and secluded retreat a stones throw from the beach
Casita Sirena was lovely; thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. It was peaceful and quiet and ideal for taking a short walk along the beautiful Solan Beach. There are wonderful shops nearby and a great weekend food market. We came for the fantastic Belly Up Tavern, and we weren't disappointed!

Thank you Tamera. We hope to see you again in the near future. Thanks for hopping the pond to have a visit with us! Nina
We loved staying at Casita Serena. We could walk everywhere. We especially loved walking on the beach and to the local restaurants. Everything else was a short drive away. While the casita is not "luxurious" it is comfortable. The owner, Nina, was very nice and easy to interact with. We would definitely return.
Best weekend getaway for an easy convenient San Diego trip. You don't even need a vehicle because you have all you need within half a block. Beach, Restaurant Bars, Cafe, Shopping, exercise... The incredible BellyUp Tavern is a 5 min walk. Solona Beach is a very nice area. Nina has a great setup and was an awesome host.

We are so happy you figured out the lay of the Solana Beach land & caught our great Spring beach weather! Go Aztec's! Nina
The best thing about this little place is that it' s as close as you can get to the ocean! Nina has done a good job of decorating it, but it is a bit strange and makeshift in a layout that doesn't show in photos. A few suggestions : a light by the entry and by the gate also. A couple of plates and bowls. More restaurant suggestions--these details matter. Glad we came!

Sorry you missed the bullitan board of resturant suggestions in town, cabinet of dishes, lightswitch (by the door) for exterior lights, the additional path lighing is solar operated. Maybe youll notice next stay? Nina
The location was perfect to everything in town plus the beach. The place was clean and WiFi worked well. The host helped us with the TV because the source got changed and was very responsive to messages. We did not hang out in back yard but tables did exist. Street parking was free. The eating area had a mini fridge , microwave and toaster oven so if you usually cook during your stays just be aware of that possible limitation. Lots of food and coffee shops near by and the area felt very safe.

Thank you for staying with us during the "Breeders Cup" 2024. Love that you are within walking distance of the Shuttle &/or Track. Hope you Won Big! Come see us again during the DM Summer Race Season or Winter Bing Crosby Season (around the corner).
Very beautiful beach and the location provides great access. Even better beaches are not far away.
Small, comfortable property as advertised. Good businesses nearby for microbrews, food, and shopping. Nice neighborhood and friendly dog on site.
Caveats: No full kitchen. Parking is on the street - seems like it could be difficult if things get busy. Also, entrance through neighboring lot is a little awkward, but it is not an expensive property for the area, so that's understandable.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay in our newly remodeled Casita. Location is everything. Our secluded, more private Solana cliffed beaches are still rather private, yet highly sought after. Most people dont know that "Seaside Reef" is a prominate local surf competion spot. Local pro, Rob Machado & many others can be seen there surfing on any given day. With the train station a block away, no car vacationing is always a nice travel option. Many charming resturants, shopping, biking & preeminent surf spots within hundreds of feet/yards. Fortunatly, in 23 years we've not had problems w/parking (plenty early ams & evenings). We hope to see you as a return guest in the future!
Excellent host! Loved the stay. Location is fantastic, less than 5 min walk to Pacific Ocean and 5 min walk to Belly Up. Many restaurant choices, good siteseeing. Very safe, with hidden entry. Clean and well appointed. Host very communicative and quick to reply about questions. Free street parking. Didn't need car at all over 2.5 day stay. Blinds and exterior lighting could be slightly better, and step at gate should be marked. Will stay again!
First let me say that the owner, Nina, was a breeze to work with and 100% on top of communicating. The casita is located in a great neighborhood with food and drinking options, and it's literally steps to a fantastic family-friendly beach. The interior is decorated in a seaside-themed eclectic arty way that is very welcoming. For two people, it's just a great size. The bed was comfy, the living room area has two big comfy chairs, and the bathroom has great water pressure - pretty much all you could ask for. Wifi works great if you are doing remote work as we did. We will definitely be coming back to this property in the future as it is walkable to the Belly Up Tavern for going to shows. Excellent all around.
