Before You Book
To help ensure our home is the right fit for your vacation, we'd like to share a few details about the property and its natural surroundings.
* Lakefront & Wooded Setting: The Shack at Sugar Creek is nestled in a peaceful, heavily wooded area directly on Lake Oconee. One of the things guests love most is the opportunity to enjoy nature, wildlife, and the tranquility of the lake.
* Outdoor Elements: Because the home is surrounded by trees and water, outdoor spaces such as the dock, screened porch, fire pit area, kayaks, and canoe may occasionally have pollen, leaves, spider webs, insects, or other natural debris despite regular maintenance and cleaning.
* Lake Conditions: The property is located in a natural cove. Floating vegetation, pollen, driftwood, and other lake debris may occasionally move into the cove due to weather, wind, and water currents. These conditions can change daily and are part of the natural lake environment.
* Wildlife & Insects: As with most lakefront homes, guests may occasionally encounter deer, spiders, insects, birds, and other wildlife. The home is professionally maintained and regularly serviced for pest control; however, it is impossible to eliminate all insects in a natural outdoor setting.
* Watercraft: Complimentary use of the canoe and kayaks is provided for guests to enjoy the lake. While we routinely inspect and maintain them, they are stored outdoors and may occasionally require a quick rinse before use.
If you're looking for a peaceful lake retreat surrounded by nature, boating, fishing, wildlife, and beautiful sunsets, we think you'll love The Shack at Sugar Creek.
Security
For the safety and security of our guests and property, two outdoor security cameras are mounted on a tree in the backyard. The cameras monitor the driveway entrance and backyard area leading toward the lake. There are no cameras inside the home.
Come experience the slower pace, peaceful surroundings, and natural beauty of The Shack at Sugar Creek. Whether you're boating, fishing, paddling, or simply relaxing on the porch, you'll find everything you need for a memorable Lake Oconee getaway.

We had an awesome weekend at this house! The scenery was gorgeous, and the house was perfect—super clean, plenty of space for all of us, and really family-friendly. Simple rules, no stress—just a great time! Also great communication with owners.
I was very disappointed with the cleanness of the home. The screened in porch area was not clean it was very dusty and dirty with spider webs, and the fire pit area wasn't clean. The towels in the bathrooms were stained and didn't appear to be fresh. There were tiny bugs in the bathroom corners that we had to sweep up. In the master bathroom on the 1st floor there was a dead wasp on the top window curtain. The home needs a thorough cleaning inside and outside.
My grand daughter loved the dock and the wide open space to play outside. We celebrated my daughter’s 30th birthday and your place worked out great for everyone. We brought our fishing boat the dock was great! We loved it!!

So glad you and your family enjoyed our place. You’re welcome anytime.
Really enjoyed how nice the house was, used the grill, made smores at the fire pit, upon arrival it looked like it had been a while since anyone had stayed there, overall very happy with the house, the price was great, would definitely rent again
We enjoyed our stay at the Lakehouse. Accommodations were clean and comfortable with nice finishing touches. The screened back porch was a cool hangout spot. We would definitely stay here again.
Perfect property for quick get away. Boat ramp (literally) 2 blocks away! Shallow water but perfect for pontoons and jet skis. The walk to the dock is effortless; not a steep leg burn :)
this is lovely house for a family - and the location on an inlet was perfect. Jason and Stacee were great communicators, including offering suggestions for favorite restaurants in the area and boat rentals. Would definitely stay here again
