About this property
Enjoy the Beauty of Acadia National Park! Bicycles are part of your rental!
Please note: Usually, we can only rent Sunday to Sunday for June, July and August mainly due to a shortage of people to clean when the cottage is turned for a new renter. I have just changed that to a 4 night minimum, but please message me before clicking on desired dates, so I can check with my cleaning person to see if the dates work for her. Saturday checkouts are usually not something which we can do. This is because of the cleaning person schedule. That said, if we don’t have a new tenant coming in on the same day, sometimes she can accommodate. Please message me and ask me first. Thank you! All guests must be at least 24 years of age. Enjoy all that Acadia National Park has to offer!! Don't forget that September and October are two of the best months in Acadia as well! No crowds...just beautiful fall weather and gorgeous scenery. We are a short distance to all the natural beauty that is Acadia, and there is no time like the fall for hiking. We are located on what is known on the island of Mount Desert on the 'Quiet Side'. We are away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor.. Relax on our patio and enjoy the garden. The quaint village of Southwest Harbor is nearby. Take the nearby ferries to all the surrounding islands. Some of Acadia's easiest and most beautiful hikes are a short distance away. We have a fully stocked kitchen for those who like to cook. Our cottage is heated to take the chill off a cool autumn evening. So come enjoy your vacation in our garden cottage and enjoy the natural splendor that is Acadia!! Two bikes included with rental. We have Wi-Fi.
Please be aware, that after I have accepted your booking, I will call the phone number you provide to VRBO. We MUST talk on the phone to make your booking official. That way, I can also give you more information about the property to make sure it is what you want. Thank you. Check in time is 4 PM and check out is 10 AM. I apologize for the early checkout but cleaning staff are hard to find and stretched thin, so need the extra time

Wonderful cottageGreat locationComfortable bed and furnitureWell equipped kitchenOnly wish driveway had a turn aroundBacking out on road was a bit hairyOtherwise a great location and place to stay
The property was exactly as pictured. The communication with Leslie was excellent and the check in process was easy. We loved the location out of busy Bar Harbor and enjoyed the lovely outdoor garden area. The fully stocked kitchen was excellent making it easy to cook the wonderful lobsters we bought at Parson’s lobster house.
The cottage was in excellent shape and very well stocked. The location was great for our plans at Acadia National Park and was within 20-30 minutes to Bar Harbor. There were several good restaurants close by with great food and Bass harbor is very close to the cottage. We really enjoyed being away from the busyness of Bar Harbor but having it close enough that you can drive over in 30 minutes with no problem. The instructions to get to the cabin were perfect and just about any question you have will be answered by them so read them carefully. If the question isn’t answered by the instructions there is probably a sticky note well positioned to answer it.
Lovely spot. Leslie was a great host. Internet was a little spotty, but otherwise, no complaints and would recommend!

I’m so glad you liked our place! As for the Internet, it is a bit spotty sometimes but it’s the best we can get at this time. Our Internet company claims they are working on it,
The Garden Cottage was a great place to stay while we checked out Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The house was very comfortable and well supplied. Would recommend.

Thank you Kris! We are so happy when our guests enjoy our place
The cottage was clean, complete, and quiet. We had 3 days of park walking, hiking, and cycling and what a treat to come back to a cozy, quiet and very functional home. We walked out the door to adventures in town and on the Bass Garbor side while easily driving to the other park areas. We would happily seat again!
Very sweet cottage. Perfect location, quiet and easy to get to hiking destinations. Well maintained, quality linens, towels. Comfortable and homey. Owner was communicative and gave great suggestions to us. Highly recommended. Garden was a lovely bonus.

Thank you so much for your feedback. It always makes us happy when people enjoy our little place.
This cottage in Bass Harbor is perfect! Minutes to Acadia park with bikes to ride the carriage trails (make sure your vehicle/rental can fit them, it's a little dangerous to ride on the road). It's quiet and private with a great patio and garden. The kitchen has everything you need, Leslie is a helpful and responsive host!
Loved being on the quiet side of Acadia. Leslie was amazing. So thorough and communicative! She went out of her way to be sure check in went well and we were enjoying our stay. The cottage is cozy and quite comfortable. We would do it again - enjoyed having access to the bikes.
Loved this little cottage! Such a beautiful spot steps from the water. Surrounded by a lovely garden filled with humming birds. Has everthing you could possibly need and more. Communication could not have been better. We really enjoyed our stay. Bikes were a huge bonus! Thank you for sharing your home.
The cottage is very comfortabel and the location is wonderful. A good bed for a good night sleep. Near the water, near nice restaurants and near enough to Arcadia national park and Bar Harbor. A great place to stay.

Thank you Willy!! we are so glad you had a nice time and that you enjoyed our cottage!
The property is quiet and beautifully kept. I loved sitting on the patio and enjoying the sounds of birds and watching the bees pollinate the flowers nearby. It was so peaceful. The house had all things you’d need and was cozy and comfortable. The location was fantastic for beautiful nearby trails and it was the only about 25 minutes to Bar Harbor. We had a wonderful week and loved our visit!

Thank you for your kind review! It always makes us happy when renters enjoy our place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage and greatly appreciated the communication and suggestions from Leslie! We did as much as possible in and around Acadia for this three days we were there. Everything was perfect, and we hope to come back again sometime.
Leslie’s garden cottage was a peaceful and pleasant place to stay while we visited Acadia. We enjoyed spending time in the garden amongst the hummingbirds when we weren’t hiking. Leslie’s check in/out instructions were very clear and she was a text away if we needed anything. There are several ANP trails only minutes away from the cottage, including the Bass Harbor lighthouse which we visited at sunset. The bedroom was cozy and the kitchen was stocked with all the basics. Would recommend!

We loved our stay on the Quiet Side of mount desert island. Beautiful garden makes up for lack of direct lake views but access to hikes, carriage roads and coast is easy to get to.

I am so glad you enjoyed it! Actually, though, your view of the ocean is obscured by the porch of our other house on the property, but if you walk just past that, the harbor is right there, and we have deeded access to the water so that you can put kayaks in right next to our neighbors house. If you would ever like to come back, you are welcome to use our kayaks and put them in right next-door.! Thanks for choosing us!
This was a great experience for us. The location is central to Acadia National Park which was the main reason for our visit. The property is beautiful with a gorgeous outdoor patio; the inside is clean, comfortable, and warm and cozy Fully equipped with everything we needed and much more.

Great property on the quiet side with a lovely patio garden. Easy drive into Southwest Harbor for shopping and restaurants. Upstairs living space with TV a plus.
The house was perfect; adorable, comfy, and very welcoming. Garden was beautifully maintenance and perfect for mornings watching the sunrise with coffee. Leslie was a great host and extremely responsive.

About the host
Hosted by Leslie Lamb
Acadia is our favorite place to be. When we purchased the property, it wasn't so pretty, and we have spent years doing construction and gardening. After much hard work it is a pretty and comfortable cottage. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
we purchased this property, as we knew it had potential for a great little cottage one house in from the water.
What makes this property unique
You will be on the "Quiet Side", away from the crowds in Bar Harbor, but still very near many hikes which are part of Acadia, but are located on our side of the island. We are also only 3 miles from Echo Lake.
