Everything at the home and the area was absolutely beautiful and perfect in every way! Host was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will be looking into staying here or in one of their other properties again soon!
The cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Excellent communication with our host Rene. We would stay there again and highly recommend it to everyone.
We stayed in this property for 7 days and it was amazing! Just a few steps to the lake and the fishing was great. Property is a little older but very clean and fully stocked. It is close enough to Durango and Pagosa Springs for daytrips. Our host Renee met us when we arrived and has been very accomodating and ensured we have everything we needed. Highly recommend Starry Nights cabin!

It was so nice to have your family stay with us at Starry Nights : ) Autumn is a beautiful time and I'm glad you were all able to enjoy it
!
My wife and I with our two children (10 and 6) stayed for a week starting on the Fourth of July. We had an absolute blast and would definitely stay here again. On the holiday and over the weekend the lake traffic picked up a bit and there were quite a few people in the area, but during the week there was hardly anyone on the lake and it was very quiet. The path to the lake is a little steep in the shore is rocky but the water was crystal clear and easy to get in and out of. We had a great time kayaking and fishing from the shore. We went down to the marina and rented paddle boards and let the kids jump on the water trampoline and swim. The grill and bar was a great place to get some food and drinks. Rocky Mountain General store, which is just down the way, has just about everything you need, plus some great elk sausage and ground beef. There are some great hikes just a short drive away overall we had a great time
We had a fun stay in this cabin on the lake. René met us after we checked in, gave us tips on places to go and things to do in the area. The cabin is older and the rustic vibe was nice. It had all the kitchen items we needed, the WiFi worked well. The dresser under the television was beautiful! You can get to the lake either by following the deer trail on the property down to a ladder to the water, or walk past the next cabin to the official "path" (there is a sign). You can't beat the area for hiking and water activities.....we are looking forward to coming back!

Thank you Amy for sharing your stay and that you will be coming back : )
The deck outside was really nice and our favorite place to relax! Access to the lake was good but very steep. It was awesome to hang out there and cool off in the water. The stairs going to second are two feet wide. Very narrow. Couldn’t use the grill because of fire restrictions in the area. Owner communicated very well with us. Beds were comfortable and couch was large and comfy too :).
Great little cabin with a beautiful view. There are a couple of cabins pretty close by which some of them are rentals as well. We stayed a week and unfortunately during the weekend, Saturday night and Sunday as well as the following Friday night there were some pretty loud people in one of the rentals which became really annoying. During the week it was quiet as can be so if that is what you are looking for, definitely book Monday through Thursday. The lake is not crowded at all so perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking. There is a gorgeous hike only 15 minutes away from the cabin with incredible views.
The skies are stunning at night, easy access to the lake and just a wonderful place to relax.

It was such a pleasure to meet you & your family and I hope to see everyone again!
We are so glad you enjoyed all the wild beauty the Weminuche has to offer. Stargazing, hiking, and spending time on the water. These experiences are where the magic of our area shines. : )
I'm truly sorry to hear that your evenings were interrupted by nearby renters. While there is noise to be expected over the weekend during summertime, there are quiet hours. For yourself or any other renters, know that I am available to advocate to other cabin owners. We are a small, tight-knit community and try to support one another.
All my best to you & your wonderful family,
René
Loved being up in the trees! The dual patios were my favorite thing; we all enjoyed the birds at the feeders. Air conditioner downstairs was good. A bit warm upstairs at night but not bad (mid June) with windows and fans. Safe place for the pupper on the enclosed patio. Didn’t really use the kayaks muc h as we planned to but they were fine. The trek to the water is very steep, and the hallways to get upstairs was very narrow - we didn’t expect that but made it work even though we aren’t the slimmest group! Could be dangerous though so be aware and check the property photos. Communication with host was excellent!

Oh, I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and pointing out the stairwell is narrow and it can be steep at points to the lake, all addressed in the description : )
Hope that you will stay with us again!
This was a great property for a weekend with family (including 1 furry friend). We enjoyed the views, access to the lake, and the cozy atmosphere inside the cabin. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy the Vallecito area!
Was a great get away. The house was clean and had extras we didn’t ask for (dog towels, dog treats and bowl, spices in the kitchen, etc). The owner is really nice, offering to bring a replacement coffee grinder when we told her the one there had no blade. Overall, a really fun weekend and great place to stay.
Pretty small. Need to play well together!
No Washer/Dryer.
Fantastic location. Awesome wooden porches.
Real wood in fireplace and outdoor fire pit.!
Very Sweet manager - Rene'
Property extends to the lake.
Everybody loved it.

Craig, thank you for sharing and I'm so glad your family loved their stay...hope to see you all again!
We had a wonderful time. This was truly a home away from home. The attention to detail was amazing from the board games in the cabinet to the coffee in the kitchen. The beds were so comfortable! We had a fantastic stay and only wish that we could have had longer.

Great views of a beautiful lake, the best VRBO host ever...
This was our first time at Lake Vallecito - we loved doing it a Starry Nights cabin! We planned this trip to be a few days hiking Vallecito Creek Trail (excellent), a day of visiting Silverton via train and hiking to Ice Lake (excellent), and the other #3 days relaxing and kayaking/SUP the lake with our dog (excellent). We entertained family friends one evening over a sunset and BBQ'd tri-tip. The amenities provided at the Cabin is one of the best we've ever seen, we brought most of what we needed but the cabin is very well stocked. René is the best Host we've ever experienced by way of her communication and directions, answers for grilling/boating/hiking, and anything about our dog. There was a lighting strike fire during our stay (quickly put out by helicopter) but René was communicating the entire time just in case anything happened. Her information packet is the best information I've seen at any property we've been too. Here are a few tips if you visit this property: Bring your own charcoal if grilling interests you and if you visit Durango or the RR with your dog, don't hesitate to use Healthy Hounds and Fat Cats for boarding or daycare. They were also excellent. Thank you René!

Thank you Steven for all of the information for future Guests! It was a pleasure to meet you both and your pup, I certainly hope that you will visit us again : )
Little cabin has such personality it was like it was telling us a story. The two decks were incredible. The top deck made me feel were in a tree house floating in the clouds with the birds.
The Vallecito area has so many breathtaking hiking trails within minutes of a drive away. You could spend weeks exploring. The kayaks were a blast and so nice to have along with the cabin.
Amazing vacation cabin!! It was perfect for us.
