Great property, comfortable, spacious and had everything you would need with a welcoming "at-home" family vibe. The location was perfect and we enjoyed hiking by the river. We absolutely loved spending time with family and sharing stories around the fire pit.Lots of welcoming touches inside the house and gathering areas outside.
Five of us stayed 4 nights for our annual guys golf trip. The house was perfect! It was charming, extremely well appointed and stocked! Mary was exceptionally friendly and easy to communicate with. We will be back next year!
Beautiful home and stunning backyard. The house had everything you could possibly need and the host is an absolute delight to communicate with. Thanks Mary for a great weekend!
We absolutely loved our stay here. The house has pretty much everything you need and is very family friendly. The decor is unique and whimsical without being over stimulating. The yard is well stocked for large groups with plenty of tables and seating options, adorable lighting, and a solid fire pit. The host is very thoughtful with what is provided and went above and beyond providing farm fresh eggs, items from her garden, and a snack basket. Would definitely stay here again!

Thank you, Miariam! I’m happy you enjoyed your stay! Welcome back any time!
Mary was a fantastic host. The house is beautiful with the river in the backyard. It was easy to walk down to by the bridge, or through the back yard if you don't mind a little climb. Everything we could need was included. The house was full of games to keep us all occupied during the rain. Parking was easy, plenty of nice little restaurants around.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review, it’s a great house with lots of love inside! Come back again
Absolutely wonderful home. I’ve never used VRBO before, but I certainly will in the future. Home was clean and well maintained. There’s plenty of accessories in the kitchen and bathrooms, and games for all ages in the game room. There are high chairs and step stools for kids. I regret not having time to use the outdoor spaces and relax by the fire pit and stream.

Thanks Chris, maybe you can come back again! You were a wonderful guest Mary
We absolutely loved Mary's River House. We own a rental property in a college town built in 1936 so the 1929 River House provided a familiar vibe for us. The inside of the house was immaculate. The bathrooms, showers and tub with jets were tremendous. One of our favorite things was how well stocked the house was. We've been to several rental houses that had very little kitchen and household items available. Opening drawers and cabinets to find everything you need made it homey. The numerous Kirkland brand items made it feel just like home. Our granddaughter loved the toys available and of course the short walk to explore the river.
Myself and a couple of colleagues stayed here while we were working in Harrisonburg for three weeks. Enjoyed our stay and Mary was great to work with. Much better than staying in a hotel for that amount of time.
The house is so comfortable and relaxing! Everything is fully stocked with everything you need. All the beds are very comfortable and cozy. The owner is accommodating and sweet! We loved our stay and will be back😊
We had a family gathering to visit a niece at JMU! The house was great location to get to Harrisonburg and had plenty of space for 8 adults! Thanks for the fresh eggs (special touch!)

Thank you for the kind review Jeff, it was great to host your family!
This was our second stay at this property. We have rented several houses when visiting our sons who are students at JMU. The house is perfect for our whole family to stay together and enjoy the evenings in the living room watching a movie or the game room playing games. The location is great, backing up to a stream. We also enjoyed the yard and fire pit in our first stay. Great accommodations, comfortable beds and everything we needed to feel at home, including fresh eggs to being home after our stay. Highly recommend!
Great space, large rooms, cold AC in rooms, slightly warm but might have just all the people we had in the downstairs rooms. Lots of seating inside and out, quiet, but very close to groceries etc. I recommend!
We enjoyed our stay, friends celebrating joint birthdays. Relaxing stay with a nice view of the river. Too bad it snowed. It made fishing a little chilly. ;-)
Beds were comfortable! Well stocked kitchen. Great outdoor space. Enjoyed corn hole and horse shoes. Private location! Plenty of parking. And even did a little fishing!
My family and my brother's family all stayed at this property while in town for JMU's homecoming weekend. The property is conveniently located at 20 minutes from JMU. There was plenty of room for both of our families and at least half the cost of renting hotel rooms during homecoming weekend at JMU where hotels jack up their rates. We would definitely stay at this property again!
