Attention, dear long-term tenants: in the WiIntermonaten we give from booking 4 weeks special discounts! From November to February basic price / basic rent from 580 € per month. The Townhouse in the historic center of Tavira was renovated and refurnished by us in 2018 - so you are the first ones interested in this charming house with garden. We hope to offer a new, interesting offer in terms of quality, equipment, service and price! You book well 80 sqm house (6 rooms) with roof terrace and a beautiful garden (plus 80sqm). Total one lives thus on approximately 180 square meters. The house has: 3 bedrooms with good beds and mattresses, 1 new kitchen (2017) with electric stove and a reasonable basic equipment - which was built into the historic kitchen with old azulejos / tiles. Two simple bathrooms with shower and new elements (2017). 1 living room with modern sofa (2018), TV and Wi-Fi. As well as a dining and reading room with comfortable reading chair (new 2018), which adjoins the kitchen.
The house: The Tavira Townhouse are actually two small townhouses, which are connected with each other and which you can use on your own. Viewed from the street, there is a house in front and a house behind the old city wall, which is followed by an imposing medieval tower. The hallway leads THROUGH the old city wall, past the Buddha-bedroom, in the "bungalow" and then on to the garden and the roof terrace. All around you also look at the battlements of the old wall, on ancient stairs that lead into the defense tower. One feels transported to a bygone time. Look forward to this very special atmosphere. Townhouse Tavira is located in the historic old town and has a quiet, green garden with sun and shade spots. On the roof terrace you have again a fantastic view over the old town, on the city wall, the Castelo, the Pousada. It is also just a few meters to the Castelo de Tavira or Jardim Publico. The Strandfähre and Cafes / Retaurantes are within easy walking distance. 1 bedroom in back house with 1,40x2m bed (new 2017) and chest of drawers for your clothes, 1 large bedroom (Buddha) with 1,60x2m bed and comfortable mattress (new 2017) also for spoiled sleeper and guests with back problems and a large closet. This bedroom has no windows and offers great tranquility & sleeping comfort. 1 bedroom with 1.40x2m bed and comfortable mattress (new 2017) also for pampered sleepers and guests with back problems and closet (new 2018), 1 office room with work space and wifi, 1 cozy TV room in the front building with WLan, bookcase and a cozy sofa for watching TV and chilling out.
Garden and terrace are equipped with new garden furniture (2017): 1 seat lounge (4 pers), 3 loungers, 3 outdoor tables in different places (sun & shade), 2 relax chairs, 4-6 simple garden chairs. There are enough sun and shade spots in the garden and on the terrace. An outdoor shower refreshes you in the summer after your beach stay. The garden is typically Portuguese and is not irrigated for ecological reasons. In this respect, the garden is green in winter and dry in summer except for the fruit trees and bushes. The fruit trees (orange, lemon and mandarin) can be harvested by you. A large rosemary bush in the garden corner invites you for a delicious barbecue and cooking. In the middle of the house is on the left side a passage door to our main water tap. This area is only for access to the main water tap and is NOT part of the house and is expressly not rented. We ask for consideration for our neighbor, who lives in this area.
Beach and swimming in Tavira: In the months of May - October a ferry goes directly from Tavira-Old Town (port on the Rio Gilao) to the beach (13min.). A beautiful drive, right through the salt pans (sea salt production), past old shipyards, past the Praia dos Tesos (first bathing beach / city beach), past the ferry dock and harbor Quatro Aguas (where more ferries go all year) on the Ilha de Tavira with its beautiful beaches. There is a wide selection of different restaurants and cafes here. On the beach there are guarded beach sections, which also offer rental of umbrellas & beach chairs and water sports. If you want a bit more peace, along the beach until he has found a lonely place for himself in the dunes. Depending on the wind and weather you can choose between the Atlantic beach or the inner beach (in the lagoon) with very shallow and warm water. If you want to take a long walk on the beach, you have the possibility to walk for several kilometers along the beach. It is best to take an extra bag for all the beautiful shells and snails that you will find on the beach. Water taxis bring you from the city to various interesting beaches that are marked and described on site. Tavira is a contemplative place with (very) a lot of Mediterranean flair. Besides the beach you can discover a beautiful area with a lot of nature. Hiking and cycling are on offer. There is always something going on in Tavira: The range of cultural events is enormous. Markets, exhibitions, fairs have no cheap tourist charm, but present themselves very culturally and proudly. TIP: you also like watching videos on the internet (eg by Maximilian Xavier) about Tavira beach / surrounding area, which describe the area excellently.
After booking you will also receive a tour plan that describes beaches and destinations in and around Tavira. In it, the city beach Praia dos Tesos is mentioned in more detail.
It is a private house. We ask for respectful contact with the neighbors. Please no wild parties. Non-smoking house, please smoke in the garden or on the terrace.
WINTER bookings / 1. December to 28. February: IMPORTANT: Our prices are in winter (1. December 28th February) ALWAYS exclusive electricity costs / electric heating. The rental prices are adjusted accordingly low in winter. There are enough heating options available. We have opted for a separate billing in the heating costs in order to avoid excessive flat-rate calculations and to offer the cheapest possible stay. We will always inform you separately about the reservation if the booking falls into winter time.
Your holiday, our concept: We offer you a large house in a good location, with affordable living concept. For a fair price. For reasons of conviction and ecological reasons we refrain z. For example, on an air conditioner in our homes - after all, you drive for sun and heat in the south. But we offer cooling fans in every room. The rooms are also spacious and comfortably furnished - but not "technically upgraded", because that would drive the rental price. So expect a cozy, clean house, in a good residential area, with plenty of space. Welcome and enjoy beautiful days in the Algarve.

Very relaxing stay at this very eclectic house. All was as described in the house description. Communication with Maya was excellent. The garden area and particularly the upper terrace were great. Loved it. Can recommend wholeheartedly.
If someone asked me to describe Old Town Tavira I would let this house do the talking for me. A beautiful, clean quirky dwelling built through old castle walls. The house itself is traditional and unspoilt , it has everything you need and incredibly comfortable beds. The Garden!!!! Wow. Shelter from the sun under ripe lemon trees or take to the roof terrace for some sun and views of churches, castles and a convent now a hotel. You can reach the river on foot in under 10 mins at a gentle pace and Lidl in same time in opposite direction. Quiet, relaxed, tranquil and unpretentious, I honestly felt like a local while I was there. Our host Maya was incredible from the moment we arrived until the second we left, thank you Maya

Very enjoyable stay at a large traditional but modernised property
Starting with the initial contact, then the booking, the lead up to check in and during the whole stay, the communication with the hosts was first class. The description of the property is very accurate, we were provided in advance with lots of information, ideal especially for those who are new to Tavira. The location is handy for exploring in all directions, close to a wonderful bakery (get there early!) and 10 minutes walk to Lidl. A stroll to Tavira, 5 minutes to restaurants, bars and cafes. The house (actually, 2 joined length-wise) is very spacious and has 3 good sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 relaxation areas. Well-equipped kitchen, good wifi, lots of books, games, CDs, musc player, TV. We did not get to use the garden, due to the weather, but rest assured that it will be wonderful in the sunshne months. Overall, 5 stars. Thank-you Maya and Mike.
The communication with Maya was great and she was very prompt when we reported a faulty kettle. The location is great and the French bakery almost next door is fantastic. The accommodation is fine but we personally would have preferred a bit more finesse. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen equipment was enough. I would have liked to have had proper cushions for the sunbeds on the roof terrace and maybe for the chairs in the garden but the outside space was great. An iron would have been a bonus but in fairness it wasn't included in the equipment list on the booking website so I couldn't expect it. I found the lack of ventilation in the main bedroom an issue despite the fan that gave a gentle breeze. That however is probably a personal thing as my husband had less of a problem with it.

We did some embellishment works the last month and would hope that you apreciate it. As we we allways try to offer a resonable cost performance rate we are not offering luxury but everything you need for a good and comfortable stay in the Tavira Townhouse. About the temperatures we recommend to read out guidance for the summer time to refresh the house. All the best

Tavira Town House
This rental was disasterous.The property was damp, cold, and draughty.Only two of the three bedrooms meet Portuguese 'Alojamento Local' regulations, the central, 'Budda' bedroom having no window. A request for the registration number went unanswered.The rear bedroom, we were told, had a leak which had been fixed prior to our arrival. By day 11 it was producing 1.2 lt of water per 24 hours in the small dehumidifer provided. A black mould had started to grow on the ceiling and over the window and a white fungus was growing on the inside of the external bedroom wall.The owner cleaned these off. We advised we couldnt continue living in the property and would leave after two week. We requested a refund for the time unspent which was not forthcoming. An alternative property many miles from Tavira was eventually offered but was not what we wished. Be warned - this property does not have an oven, or microwave in the cooking department. There are not heaters in all rooms. The electrics are bazaar - every socket has extension cables with additional sockets. The only working bathroom is an external annexe. This has a small fan heater plugged into a socket in the bathroom. ( this is illegal in my country)I could find no smoke or CO detector in the property.From approximately 21st November to the 20 January the rear 'patio' receives no direct sunshine. I believe the property had not been lived in for the previous two months prior to our visit.

Th guest behaved rudely and was unfortunately completely resistant to
advice and very disrespectful. He came to Portugal during a period of
bad weather! During storms and heavy rain, as documented by the weather
services.
The guest's mood was already bad when he arrived.
I offered SERVICE and help in the house several times. Without any
success! The customer did not respond. Rees did not use the heaters (3
fan heaters, 3 oil radiators, a wood stove PLUS an option for a gas
stove) and the dehumidifier in a semi-professional manner. EVEN though
all appliances are present, working AND with presets/markings for
optimum effect. So freezing is completely UNNECESSARY!
There is also a detailed description in the house for heating in winter
in Portugal! Explained in detail! I also pointed this out to the guest.
And I explained everything to him calmly. Even when I was there, I could
NOT convince him to use the appliances properly. He did not allow the
appliances to be preset.
So the guest WILLFULLY caused damage to the house. Because the high
humidity in Portugal/winter is no secret! Without a decent dehumidifier
and a minimum of heating, it is unfortunately (often) NOT possible.
Incidentally, the house was rented out as normal before and after the
guest. The winter here was not ‘ easy’, but other tenants managed well.
I can also say tthat other appliances (TV and
hoover) in the house were also not used properly or were damaged.So the
guest was quite ‘special guest.
Die Ausstattung ist einfach, aber ausreichend und entspricht exakt der Beschreibung. Hervorragend sind die Lage, der kleine Garten mit Zitruspflanzen und die Aussicht auf einen Teil der Altstadt. Wir haben die zwei Wochen im Haus von Maya und Steffen sehr genossen.

Une fin de séjour décevante !
Tout aurait pu être parfait ! La maison est atypique avec du charme à la portugaise bien placé dans Tavira.
Malheureusement, nous n’avons pas été avertie qu’il y aurait des travaux toute la semaine dans la rue voisine grue gros chantier et dans la maison juste à côté vue des ouvriers directement sur la terrasse jardin. Bruit de chantier de 8h à 17h. Nous n’avons pas pu profiter de l’exterieur. Ensuite des élément important qui n’était pas indiqué douche hors service, ni de four ni de micro onde et il y n’a pas de réfrigérateur ! (Nous n’avons rien dit et avons été conciliant)
Retour en France, j ai reçu un message de l’hôte en nous demandant de payer 75€ s’en passer par Abritel car son service de nettoyage lui aurait indiqué qu’ont aurait fait pipi au lit. Bien sûr que ce n’était pas le cas nous n’avons pas d’enfant en bas âge.
Déçu du retour !

Vielen Dank fuer Deine Bewertung. Das Tavira Townhouse liegt im Zentrum von Tavira. Leider haben wir keinen Einfluss auf Arbeiten in der Stadt oder bei unseren Nachbarn. Es tut uns leid, dass Ihr Baulaerm hattet. Alle Gaeste vor und nach Euch haben keinen Baulaerm erlebt. Daran kann man erkennen, dass wir darauf keinen Einfluss haben und wie sporadisch Bauarbeiten sein koennen. Wir hoffen, dass Ihr den wunderbaren Aussenbereich und die Aussendusche dann ab 17 Uhr nach dem Strandaufenthalt geniessen konntet.
WIe in der Anzeige angegeben haben wir eine Dusche im hinteren Badezimmer. Selbstverstaendlich haben wir einen Kuehlschrank in welchem ein kuehler Weisswein auf Euch gewartet hat. EInen Backofen haben wir nicht, dies kann man aber auch der Anzeige entnehmen sowie den Fotos der Kueche, wenn man sich die Muehe machen moechte bei der Buchung. Alle Ausstattungsmerkmale sind aufgelistet. Wir weisen in unserer Anzeige sogar ausdruecklich darauf hin, dass das Tavira Townhouse aus oekologischen Gruenden einfach ausgestattet ist. Auch um unsere guenstigen Preise zu gewahrleisten verzichten wir ausdruecklich auf Luxus.
Unser Reinigungsteam, welches immer im Haus sauber macht, hat uns nach Eurem Aufenhalt darauf hingewiesen, dass es in einem Zimmer nach Urin riecht und die Matratze einen Urin-Flecken trozt Schutzbezug aufweist.
Daraufhin habe ich Euch angeschrieben. Nach Eurer abweisenden Reaktion haben wir aus Kulanz darauf verzichtet Euch die Matratzenreinigung zu berechnen.
Tavira ist ein sehr schöner Ort gewesen und das Ferienhaus hatte eine gute Lage. Auch die französische Bäckerei unterhalb des Hauses war ein Highlight. Leider erschien uns das Interieur des Hauses etwas in die Jahre gekommen zu sein. Eine gemütliche Sitzgelegenheit im Garten wäre schön gewesen.

Vielen Dank für Dein Feedback. Was für eine SItzgelegenheit hat Euch im Garten denn gefehlt? Wir haben eine Lounge Bank. 2 Lounge Sessel, 2 Liegen mit Kissen zum entspannen und noch diverse Sitzmöglichkeiten in Sonne oder Schatten. Was hat Euch gefehlt? Was das Interieur betrifft, ist das Haus ohne neumodische Sachen ausgestattet, um vernünftige Preise weiter gewählleisten zu können. Die starken Preiserhöhungen aller Mitanbieter in der näheren Umgebung wollen wir bewußt nicht mitmachen. Sondern uns ist es wichtig bezahlbaren, gepflegten und großzügigen Wohnraum ( immerhin ca.100m2 Wohnfläche ) zum fairen Preis anzubieten. Das bemühen wir uns auch in unserer Anzeige genauso zu transportieren. Wir hoffen Ihr hattet trotzdem eine schöne Zeit. Danke für Euer Feedback.
Dem Titel "Townhouse mit Garten und Dachterrasse und viel Platz. In der Altstadt!" sollten die Wörter "einzigartig" und "wunderschön" voran gesetzt werden - dann ist die Kurzbeschreibung sehr zutreffend!
Die Unterkunft bietet alles was man braucht und ist durch ihren Aufbau wirklich außergewöhnlich schön. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die malerisch gestaltete Dachterrasse mit dem Duft verströmenden Zitronenbaum und dem herrlichen Ausblick auf Tavira.
Die perfekte Lage ermöglicht eine fußläufige Erkundung der schönen Stadt Tavira und der französische Bäcker nebenan sowie der 500 Meter entfernte Lidl sind ebenfalls sehr urlauberfreundlich gelegen.
Ich spreche eine ganz klare Empfehlung für diese Unterkunft aus und freue mich darauf, weitere Male dort Erholung finden zu dürfen.
This house is a gem. Perfectly located to walk anywhere in Tavira. We thoroughly enjoyed our evenings on the rooftop terrace. The nights are quiet, had lovely breakfasts in the garden. Hope to be back next year. Thanks MAYA.
Das Haus liegt optimal zentral, ist aber trotzdem ruhig. Der französische Bäcker direkt nebenan ist sehr zu empfehlen. Man kann wunderbar auf der Terrasse sitzen, aber auch die Inneneinrichtung ist sehr schön.

This property is eccentric, but utterly delightful, build through the old city wall with a wonderfully secluded garden and terrace at the back. It is a haven of peace but right in the heart of the town. It has all the basics that you need and is very well placed.
The train and bus stations are in easy walking distance, so are many very good restaurants and the excellent French bakery. There are small corner shops nearby and Lidl is a ten minute walk away. The Castle and some of the best churches are in the neighbourhood.
It is very good value.
Das Haus war wie beschrieben und hat unsere Erwartungen voll und ganz erfüllt - hier auch großes Lob an die Vermieter.
Toller Garten und Terrasse. Das Haus ist schicht gehalten, aber ansonsten einzigartig.
Kleine Anmerkung: Das große Schlafzimmer verfügt über keine Fenster. Uns hat es nicht gestört, aber manche können in solchen Räumen nicht schlafen.
Es gibt aber noch zwei weitere Schlafzimmer - so sollte für jeden etwas dabei sein.
Da wir Tavira ins Herz geschlossen haben, kommen wir sicherlich wieder.
A casa tem uma ótima localização, muito perto do centro da cidade. A presença da muralha é uma marca muito curiosa numa propriedade com uma estrutura interessante. Permitiu-nos passar uma ótima semana de férias em Tavira.
Das kleine Haus liegt sehr zentral, es ist alles vor Ort schnell fußläufig erreichbar.
Besonders gefallen hat uns die absolut ruhig gelegene Terasse und das „Außenbad“ sowie die Außendusche.
Tavira ist ein schöner Ort und die endlosen vorgelagerten Strände sind super ,
Die vielen Tipps zur Umgebung seitens der Gastgeber sind wertvoller als ein Reiseführer…

Wir waren 10 Tage im Tavira Townhouse und haben uns total wohl gefühlt!
Die Zimmer und die Küche sind gut ausgestattet und der Außenbereich hat uns begeistert!
Nach einem Tag am Strand oder in der Stadt konnte man sich hier gut zurückziehen und die schöne Aussicht genießen!
Die Außendusche bietet an heißen Tagen eine willkommene Abkühlung.
Nur 2 Häuser weiter ist ein kleiner französischer Bäcker, mit Baguette, Croissant und anderen Leckereien, zu dem wir täglich gegangen sind.
Zu Fuß erreicht man Stadt und Hafen in ca. 10 min.
Die Kommunikation lief problemlos und ich bekam immer schnell eine Antwort und viel Info-Material zum Objekt und der Umgebung.
Wir würden jederzeit wieder buchen, vielen Dank!

Das Haus ist wundervoll, wer wohnt schon in der alten Stadtmauer von Tavira?
Die Beschreibung passt, der Urlaub lässt sich hier sorgenfrei verbringen.
Eine ganz außergewöhnliche Wohnung im Zentrum von Tavira.. viele Restaurants, Geschäfte und die Fähre zum Strand sind fußläufig zu erreichen.
Unser Highlight war der wunderschöne Dachgarten mit Zitronen- und Limettenbaum und Außendusche zur Abkühlung.
Wir waren zu viert dort mit zwei Kindern (7 und 10) und können das Tavira Townhouse nur wärmstens empfehlen!
Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Kurzurlaub und haben uns sofort wie zu Hause gefühlt. Die Abstimmungen mit der Vermieterin haben bestens geklappt. Die Lage ist zentral und ruhig in der kleinen sympathischen Stadt Tavira. Unbedingt die französische Bäckerei in der Nachbarschaft besuchen! Super lecker!
