Relaxing waterfront cabin on premier Balsam Lake. Just over an hour from the twin cities metro and feet away from the largest lake in the area. (2,054 acres), which is teeming with fish to satisfy the most avid of anglers. The unique shoreline stretches 65 miles and the lake is dotted with picturesque islands and bays. The local Marina (Sunnyside Marine) has boats, pontoons, and other water toys to rent for water fun! There are 2 restaurants that you can access by boat, from the lake.

The renowned tourist destination of the Village of Balsam Lake, features fine dining, casual eateries, a brewery, a museum, a public beach. and over 50 businesses providing a vast array of services. There are several golf courses within minutes, and 1 within walking distance.

In addition to all the cabin's amenities and sleeping for up to 8, ( 4 in the cabin and 4 in the bunkhouse) enjoy a flat grassy lawn for yard games, a fire pit perfect for those moon lit nights, and a dock that provides a place to bring your boat, fantastic swimming and fishing. Sit back and unwind on the spacious deck while grilling your favorite BBQ meals. Take in the sights of water life, listen to the beautiful call of the loons. while relaxing just feet away from the water.
You're renting one side of a waterfront twin home. You have your own entrance, dock, deck, grill and your side of the large grassy flat yard and living space. There are 2 parking spots available for you.

Take a short road trip to enjoy fun activities in St. Croix Falls, Taylors Falls, Turtle Lake Casino, Wild Mountain, Wineries,Trollhaugen and the Gandy Dancer trail, all about 30 minutes from your vacation get-away cabin.

The cabin was everything we hoped for...very clean nicely equipped and amazing view unto Balsam Lake. Our host was so .prompt with communication and very accommodating to our needs! We would definitely stay here again!!

Very nice cabin and great location on the lake. The dock is very nice to have and dock your boat at. The bunkhouse was part of the rental and is great for older kids to have a place to hangout and sleep away from the main building. The air conditioning was very nice because it was a very hot summer weekend and helped to cut the heat for sleeping.

This location is excellent, right on the lake! The deck was very nice, as is the bunkroom. The bedrooms and bathroom are small, but functional. We were in town for a family wedding, so we didn’t spend a lot of time at the cabin. It appeared to be well outfitted and the AC worked well to cool the place at night. It was a bit loud when it turned off and on. Overall, we were happy with our stay and especially the communication from the owner.

Little family get away

The property was very clean and the perfect size for our family of 4 . The kids loved the bunk house ! The lake was beautiful and clean - great swimming right off the dock . We did lots of swimming l, tubing, and fishing !

Great Stay!

This location on Balsam Lake was great. The host was very good at communication. Cabin is right in the lake. Has a nice dock for a boat. And this Cabin is 5 minutes from downtown Balsam that has great bars, restaurants and a newer brewery. My wife and twin 13 year old kids had a great time. The cabin is well equipped with dishes and cooking utensils. We will stay again!

Girls get away weekendLocation, location, location!!! This is it. Good driving distance to towns, hiking trails, pAddleboat excursion. The vacation rental has a nice grassy flat yard and a grassy area that sits right next to balsam Lake. Even though we did not have boat or fishing activity… It was gorgeous to sit outside on the porch swing and enjoy the lake activity. It is a cozy cabin, but adequate. The host has utilized every inch. Love the exposed wood ceiling, beds were comfortable and each bedroom had a dresser shelving and closet space. The kitchen had all the cooking essentials which we appreciated as 90% of the meals were made at the cabin. The kitchen is small, but we made do. The dining table provides wonderful lake views.There was adequate living room furniture. Outdoor furniture on deck was nice with outdoor accent lighting. We played many games out there. The gas grill was great for grilling. Check out Instructions are a breeze. The host was wonderful and easy to work with though we did not have issues. We reached out to him for recommendations and he always responded quickly. would definitely return to cabin and this beautiful area. So much to explore and trails not hiked yet Thanks for opening your cabin to us South Dakota flatlanders!!! Enjoyed trees and lakes, although there was plenty of soybean and corn fields to remind us of home.

Our family of 6 enjoyed our stay at Cottage East on Balsam Lake. The cabin and property were clean and well stocked with amenities. Lake views were charming with the bench on the end of the dock. Water levels may be a bit shallow and weedy for those considering swimming, but certainly doable.Only one downside was the A/C unit in the bunkhouse could not keep up with the sweltering heatwave. We could only utilize the bunkhouse one night while we were there. We were able to make sleeping arrangements in the cabin with the pull-out couch, but just wanted to caution in case of hot weather if expectation is to utilize the bunkhouse as a sleeping necessity. Hopefully it will not often be an issue, with very few weeks in 90 weather as a general weather pattern for Balsam Lake!The window A/C unit in the main cabin was able to keep things nice and cool, with plenty of fans for air circulation.All-in-all, our family had a nice stay!

Long weekend getaway

Cottage east was great. Great for our family, kids enjoyed the bunkhouse, we enjoyed paddle boating, swimming off the dock, fishing off the dock and exploring balsam Lake. The yard is great for outdoor games. we will definitely visit again. Thank you for sharing your place!
