Leia's Folly, Mid-Century Modern Waterfront Retreat on the water w/kayaks & R2D2

This rustic mid-century modern retreat was once a working barn and then converted into a guest house. The second story deck looking out on the water is the perfect place for morning coffee! Peace and Quiet shifts you into relaxation mode like a Bay Breeze that will blow through your hair or that you can hold in your hand. There is a small beach for getting in the water. There is a fishing pier if you bring your gear. Kayaks are also onsite, based on availability. Please note that WIFI is EXTREMELY spotty and so is cell phone service. This is out in the country. There is a 55" tv and stand full of movies to watch. This property is named Leia's Folly because it is lightly decorated with a Star Wars theme. This is very close to the water and although the tap water is safe to drink, it does have a slight iron smell. The two bedrooms and full bath are located on the first floor with an open floor plan on the second to include kitchen, dining, living and access to the outdoor deck.

Nice cabin right on the water. Bedrooms, full bath and laundry are on the lower level, and living space, powder room and kitchen are on the upper level. Very quiet, beautiful surroundings. Variety of birds, deer and rabbits come around to visit. On 4th of July, neighbors along the river had a nice fireworks display. Cabin includes lots of Star Wars memorabilia and movies to watch on the TV. Kitchen is basic, but what is there is nice. Enjoyed the deck very much. There is a great nice sky, and we enjoyed the meteorite showers some evenings. I would definitely recommend.

Great location and surrounded by nature.

We loved the country setting with Horn Harbor just beyond the creek. Amazing views all around. Really nice kayak launch area—water shoes are a must. Followed the tides/winds and made the most of fair weather days to explore the Bay and inland waterways. Nice stargazing from the deck on clear nights. Upstairs “great room” is very comfortable. The 2nd floor half bath was a nice bonus. Plenty of hot water for showers. Very comfortable queen size bed. Perfect for a couple. You could squeeze in more people, if you’re comfy with that. Could be tricky with very young children/toddlers, as they would need close supervision with the open stairs/hayloft architecture and plethora of Star Wars toys. We saw lots of ospreys, herons, woodpeckers, gulls, groundhog, bunnies and deer. Historic graveyard too. Overall, a very special place for nature and history lovers; and members of the Rebel Alliance (Princess Leia approves).
