Good stay
I would have given this 4 stars but the only other review was 1 star- citing tv channels, which is unfair so I bumped this up to 5. This condo is in a great location for exploring the north shore of Kauai. We were on the island in June and stayed in Kapaa but wanted to be closer to Hanalei this time. The condo is just a few minutes from Hanalei. The condo was clean and had pretty much everything we needed. My only real complaint would be with the air conditioner. I don’t think it’s the appropriate size for the unit and we never felt like it got “cool” in there. Honestly it may have been more of a humidity issue than heat but nevertheless we felt warm in the unit. Unit has a nice shower with great water pressure. Bed was comfortable. Other than that I just have some suggestions for the property owner. Curtain panels would be nice on the windows as some of the blinds don’t work and it gets bright in there early. Also some shades on the kitchen windows for privacy as there is no “bedroom” in this unit. And a filtered water pitcher in the fridge would be nice as well. Check out Hideaways Pizza Pub in Princeville and Wishing Well shave ice in Hanalei. Tunnels beach in Hanalei is an absolutely stunning beach but water kind of rough so we rented some body boards in Hanalei for $6/day. The condo came with 2 beach chairs, a small soft-side cooler and some snorkeling gear. Anything else needed can easily be rented in Hanalei.

There was no t.v. Stations only movie stations. So I could not watch sports or news.
There was also mold in the house. No TV stations only movie stations. So no news or sports. I would not stay there again.

Over all, the property was fine except for the following details. 1) The bedframe protrudes about 6" out from the mattress making it difficult to get in/out of bed without racking one's shins on the edge of the frame. 2) The cookware didn't include a legitimate skillet and the pan that was a "substitute" skillet had a rounded bottom making it almost impossible to get an even heat transfer on the burner top electric stove which is flat. 3) The flat panel smart TV was not connected to the local cable TV system so one could watch only streaming video provided that one is enrolled in streaming services and remembers passwords or uses existing accounts on the TV or sets up their own new account. To be fair, Ryan, our host, jumped through hoops of real fire in an effort to work around the obstacles related to the TV configuration and it is to be to be commended. 4) There were no wash cloths in the bathroom for those of us who don't use loofas and/or body wash implements.

Why they chose this property

Aloha all,
We purchased our first Condo in Princeville as our family home when we first moved to Kauai 6 years ago. We fell in love with the North Shore of Kauai due to its beauty and lushness. The beaches and trails here are like very few other places in the entire world.
We decided to purchase in the beautiful, upscale, Resort and Residential Community of Princeville due to its spectacular living environment for our children. The roughly 2 mile stretch of beautiful Houses, Condos, Hotels, Parks, Golf courses, Mini Hikes, Beaches and Views is hard to beat anywhere in the world. The Community is upkept with the most care and is a magical place to live and visit.

What makes this property unique

Aloha all,
Our Property resides in the heart of the Beautiful Princeville Resort and Residential with walking access to numerous Beaches and Trails, such as, Queen's Bath, Hideaways Beach, Turtle Cove, Hanalei Bay, Anini Beach, and Secret Beach. There is also a 2-mile running trail that runs through the community offering amazing views of the Napali Coast, the Beaches down below and the Makai Golf course as well. The Makai Golf Course is world renown and offers a truly amazing golfing experience.
Princeville Community has a premier location on the North Shore. Princeville shops are within walking distance from the condo and boast an array of shops, food establishments and a grocery store. Princeville is also Located 10 minutes from Kilauea heading back east with is an amazing town and the iconic Kilauea Lighthouse, as well as some amazing beaches, shops, and restaurants. If you travel further north you are only 10 minutes from the historic Hanalei Town and Bay. The town also boasts an array of shops and eateries, but the bay is truly magnificent. Whether you want to surf, sunbath, run, swim, bogie board, or just cruise the pier Hanalei bay has it all and all with one of the most scenic backdrops around. You are ringed by spectacular mountain views and the edges of the Napali Coast. Sunset on the bay should not be missed and one of our favorite past times is bonfires along the bay. A magical experience for any couple or family visiting the island.
The condo is also located only a 30minute drive from the Kalalau Trail! The most iconic hike on the island is located in Haena State Park which requires a permit to enter and is beyond worth it. The Kalalau Trail runs along the breadth of the Napali Coast for 11 Awe-inspiring miles. Most people do not hike the entire trail and make stops at Hanakapia Beach and waterfall before returning. A hike and trip well, well worth it.
Being on the North Shore also allows access to numerous other trails, beaches, and gardens!
