2-bdrm condo in Kona. Quiet garden setting with pool & sunset views.
Welcome to Lani Iki, our Little Heaven. Our lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo is located in Keauhou Resort in a peaceful garden setting with mature fragrant plumerias, gingers and hibiscus. Luxuriate in one of our two salt-water pools or enjoy the sweet Kona sunset from one of our two lanais. In just 5 minutes you can walk to Keauhou Bay and Harbor where you can enjoy water activities such as swimming, fishing and paddling, as well as whale-watching and snorkel tours. Also within a short walking distance is Keauhou Shopping Center, with a well-stocked KTA market, Long's Drugs, cinema, galleries, shops and a variety of good restaurants. A 3-minute drive will bring you to great snorkeling at Kahalu'u Beach Park or golf at Keauhou Country Club. Our condo features a comfortable kitchen/living area with a large flat screen TV, multiple cable channels and Internet. The kitchen is well-stocked with appliances and equipment for your snacks or gourmet meals. The first floor lanai has convenient seating/dining area. The upstairs master bedroom has a king-size bed with individual adjustable Serta mattresses (so comfy), flat-screen TV, nicely furnished lanai with retractable awning and updated en-suite bathroom. You'll awaken to birds singing in the trees outside your doors. The second bedroom (downstairs) has a very comfortable queen Murphy bed, which can be stowed against the wall if you want extra space for yoga or workouts (we have mats and free weights!). Note that the full-size stacking washer/dryer is accessed through this bedroom. There is a single folding futon that can be placed on the floor--suitable for a child. We have newly-installed mini-split A/C units in the living area and master bedroom. The second bedroom (on cooler side of unit) is cooled by ceiling and room fans. We also supply our guests with beach gear (towels, cooler, beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and basic snorkel gear) and pool toys for the kiddies. There is an excellent gas grill available for community use just steps from the unit.

Mahalo nui, Amber. We're glad you love our "Little Heaven" as much as we do. It was wonderful to host you, and we hope you'll return. Aloha no a hui hou (until we meet again). April and 'ohana
We loved the property! It was really well situated close enough to town but also out of the noise. The house was one of the most well-stocked properties we have stayed! Super clean and really great layout for two couples.

Thanks for staying at Lani Iki Jill. We're so happy you made the most of the beach and surrounding area. Keep us in mind for your next trip to Kona, mahalo!
The condo was clean, nice appliances and we’ll appointed kitchen, comfortable beds and sofa. The pool was beautiful and just steps away. The shopping center is a 10 minute walk and has periodic entertainment, good food, movie theater, farmer’s market, grocery, drug store, etc. A 10 minute walk in the other direction gets you to the ocean front for beautiful sunsets. April, the manager, is attentive and returns your emails promptly. I would definitely stay here again.
AC unit would have made it perfect, other than that great location and size of unit. manager communication is on point.

Aloha Stan. Thanks for your nice review. It was a pleasure to host your family. We would love to have A/C but the complex does not allow it due to the noise factor. We find the ceiling fans and portable fans to be quite useful, but we understand that some folks are used to cooler rooms.
This property had more kitchen appliances and stuff to cook with than I do on the mainland! Every spice you can think of, multiple choices of soy sauce, vinegar and other condiments. Very quiet. Nice neighbors. Great pressure in shower. Good location for snorkeling at Kahulu'u. Note: pools are not heated.
Nicely apportioned, comfy place. Wonderful location, too. Good kitchen, with lots of accessories.
2 things I'd add to my wish list for the rental:
1. The downstairs bedroom should be advertised a little clearer, i.e. Murphy bed/laundry room/utility closet.
2. A portable a/c would be a nice addition, especially when the trade winds are still.
Property managers were very accommodating.

Mahalo Judy & Don. We enjoyed having you as guests and we appreciate all your helpful input. We're hoping the resort management will allow a portable A/C unit. Meanwhile, we are keeping cool with window shades and fans! Malama pono (take care) a hui hou (until we meet again).
We had a wonderful, comfortable stay. We only used the AC the first night but glad we had the option as it can get hot on sunny days. We had a pleasant breeze every night with the screen windows open and the fans on. It was very quiet location and enjoyed the lanai every night. Would recommend you review the condiments before going to the store. The refrigerator and cupboards are filled with options. There was basically everything you could think of available in the kitchen. Would book again.
Lani Iki was the perfect place for our family to spend Christmas together! The property is set quiet and well maintained, the unit is well apportioned and has plenty of needed amenities. It is walking distance of 2 Farmers Markets, a major shopping center, and decent dining options.
The property manger/owners seem to have gone out of their way to decorate for the holiday, putting up lights and a tree for us!
The pool was clean, never crowded, and just a bit cold as to be really refreshing once you committed to jumping in. The gas BBQ was nice, looked new (the people that used it before us could have taken 3min to clean it off after they were done using it).
The worst part of the property was leaving once our vacation was over. =)

April, Milt and Christine: Property managers Josh and April are long-time friends and local treasures. They will make sure you are comfortable at Lani Iki and answer any questions you may have about island activities and places to see. April owns a thriving flower shop in Kainaliu and also does wedding and event planning. If you are planning a wedding or event on the Big Island, April is your go-to wahine! Milt and Christine are long-time island residents who left for a few years but found they just couldn't stay away. For many years we hosted guests at our little coffee farm in Captain Cook, overlooking Kealakekua Bay (at Keala Lani and the first Lani Iki). Milt is Hawaiian by birth; his parents and grand-parents grew up on the windward side of the island in Honoka'a. Christine is one of the original California beach babies. as well as a teacher and writer (retired) and mom and grandma. We now divide our time between the Big Island and California's Mendocino coast.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Lani Iki for its charm and peaceful "old Hawai'i" feeling, its proximity to the beautiful bay and harbor, and the awe-inspiring historical significance of the area. As you explore the beautiful, rugged coastline and surrounding area, you'll literally be walking in the footsteps of kings and queens, Hawai'i's honored ali'i.
