Large yard slopes gently to the water's edge. Dramatic vaulted master bedroom has a 2nd private entrance to bathroom with neo-angle shower. Well-equipped maple kitchen with granite island/bar, dishwasher, full size range, large refrigerator/freezer & microwave Ave. Twin beds in 2nd bedroom can be made into a king-size bed. All linens, dishes and kitchen utensils are provided.

Enjoy spectacular sunsets from the deck, sun room, great room or master bedroom sitting area. Walk to a beaver pond & dam in the woods. Enjoy a separate cozy playhouse/studio getaway. Play horseshoes. Relax on lawn chairs or at the waterfront picnic table. No wood to haul! There is a gas fireplace with thermostatically controlled heat. Canoe and kayak rentals available or bring your own boat...a boat launch is nearby. Ideal for couples or families. looking for a lakeside getaway.

Each Summer Fall and Spring Season has its own rewards:
Relax by the lakeside shaded picnic area, Sunbathe on the float, in the peaceful field, or on the deck.
Snuggle inside the cottage beside the gas fireplace/stove on the comfortable love seat.
Enjoy beautiful spring & fall wildflower walks along the quiet roadside, along wooded paths and streams or on abundant nearby hiking trails.
Paddle along the lakeshore or into pristine rivers with a variety of aquatic & woodland animals.

Excellent location and good accommodations

We loved the location and had a wonderful stay. Master bedroom was fantastic. Mary was quick to respond to our communications. Wish there was a washer and dryer, but that's a rarity in most rentals in the area. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely stay on Biscay Pond

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing stay @ Mary's place on Biscay Pond. We enjoyed kayaking right from the cottage and exploring both ponds. I think our highlight was watching the loons and osprey. The location was close to town, but felt like miles away. A great place to stay while exploring the area.

Perfect lake vacation

We had a fantastic vacation in this beautiful place on peaceful Biscay pond! We rented kayaks and spent a lot of time on the lake watching the loons dive. We also enjoyed the fire pit on cool evenings. Inside the cottage is very comfortable with a well supplied kitchen for cooking.

Simply amazing!

Property was more then we expected! Our trip brought great fishing off the shore, amazing wildlife observation, amazing food, great little shops, and locals who are welcoming. Great location and only a two hour drive to Acadia National park, book your sunrise spot early!

Serenity at the Lake

Clean, organized and beautiful. The owner was so kind over the phone. Even though we had some bad weather, there were also rays of sunshine to get away to the Pemaquid Lighthouse and the Fort William Henry. Delicious lobster and a delicious rest!!

A much needed retreat!

This property offers quiet and solitude while being in close proximity to town and to local attractions such as Boothbay Harbor and Pemaquid Point. The cabin was charming and comfortable, with beautiful views of the lake, to be enjoyed either from the back deck or from the Adirondack chairs at lakeside. Mary was a wonderful host! Thank you for sharing a slice of the lake life with us!

Beautiful Biscay

Mary's place on Biscay Pond is beautiful. The house was clean, nicely appointed for cooking meals together, and very comfortable for the three of us--a lovely place to sit and watch the lake and listen to the birds in the trees. The property's big open lawn area offered plenty of space to play outdoor games or read in the sun. We especially enjoyed taking long paddles up and down the lake, watching the loons, and sailing our small boat from the float.

Great lakefront getaway

Very nice 4 night stay. Definitely has the feel of grandma's old bakehouse, but was perfect for our needs. We cruised the coast everyday and used the cottage as home base. We picked it so my 19 and 20 year old girls had their own beds. My daughters spent the evenings down by the floating dock, while my wife and I sat on the deck with the view of the lake. Overall, exactly as owner describes it and picture are accurate.

Perfect in every way

This was a wonderful place to stay. We are very familiar with this part of Maine, and found this home to be perfectly located to enjoy the peninsula. The house itself is great - very cozy, clean and well equipped and maintained. The location on the lake is fantastic - very beautiful and peaceful. It's also a great place to kayak - we kept our kayaks down on the lawn and entered and exited the lake easily. Mary was a great host - very friendly and engaging. We'll certainly be back.

We enjoyed Mary's camp immensely. Such room with the big MBR and the spaciousness of the yard. We could have played a game of football. The lake is perfect, water temps were ideal. Kitchen had everything (except cheese grater). So much to do, see in area. Must come back. Thanks Mary!

Overlooking quiet, peaceful Biscay Pond with a western view.

Sounds of loons and nighttime owls, even indoors as well as over dinner on the deck. We rented kayaks which we could put in right there and paddle either direction on the beautiful pond, away from tourist sounds. This peninsula, the Pemaquid, is an ideal location, just 1-1/4 hrs from the Portland Airport, and a world apart, in lovely lobster-coves Maine. Mary Berger, your hostess is The Best, and you ‘ll love everything about her and this rental house.

Very pleasant, clean cottage on small pond. Easy access to supplies in town or for outings. We liked the porch and new deck and dock. Good swimming but boats must be rented. No AC but ceiling fans are good. Limited TV channels and no wifi. Owner available if needed and very helpful!

Convenient location and clean comfortable cottage.

Mary's cottage was comfortable, clean and in a quiet setting on the water. We brought our own kayak and paddled the entirety of Biscay Pond as well as the lower portion of Pemaquid Pond (via a passage way at the northern end). We also day tripped (45 min) to Camden for some hiking and exploring there. The peninsula itself offers many "lobstah on the dock" opportunities as you explore the many working harbors. The wonderful Pemaquid lighthouse sits at the far tip with it's great rock outcropping. We had everything we needed to prepare meals, the bed was comfortable and the shower water hot (though low pressure). The heater took the chill off the September evenings. We would certainly consider returning for another stay.

Loved it!

Mary's place was absolutely lovely and we had a great week filled with water play, hiking, and exploring the area. We especially loved the large open lawn for yard games and play with our 5-year-old. The property has a really nice entry point into the lake with a sandy bottom - absolutely ideal for swimming and kayaking! We saw a bald eagle flying overhead one morning while kayaking. Beds are comfy, and the house is perfectly equipped for vacation fun. Kitchen has the basics that you need for cooking and eating. Mary was very helpful but also gave us our space and privacy. Couldn't ask for a better host! If I had any feedback, it would be that the dock was a bit unstable - normally we like to put chairs out on the dock and sit at night, but it pitched back and forth too much for that, and our son was a little worried to walk on it. All in all, we loved Mary's beautiful place and her hospitality. Recommend 5/5.

Fantastic Maine camp in perfect mid-coast location

This camp is well stocked and comfortable with a large yard extending through the trees down to a nice waterfront on Biscay pond. Part of the expansive yard is open with a nice fire pit while another part is shaded with large trees down to the lakeside. The camp itself is very cozy with a nice open kitchen, a front deck great for enjoying the lake view and a nice enclosed side porch with comfortable furnishings. The large master bedroom is stunning with an open beamed cathedral ceiling and a large bank of windows overlooking the lake. The smaller bedroom is cozy and comfortable. The camp sits back from the lake but the lakeside has chairs for sitting and a small dock and float. We were there in the cooler fall so we did not swim, but the lake looks clear and inviting. We love the mid-coast area of Maine and this location is perfect. Near-by Damariscotta has several very good restaurants and shops to explore. It is close to our favorite lobster wharf in Round Pond and an easy drive to other classic Maine coastal locations (i.e. Pemaquid, Boothbay Harbor, etc.) . We return to Maine every year, either summer or fall, and would return here again when we don’t have a larger extended family group with us. And yes, the sunsets across the lake are stunning.

Perfect lake house for a small family

We spent a week here and had a blast! The cabin itself was the quintessential lake house: quaint, mismatched but cozy furniture, immersed in nature, and the perfect homebase for all the area had to offer. There were kayak rentals, ice cream, swimming hole and nature walks in 10 mins. Pemaquid Beach, the Maine Botanical Gardens (our fave) and lighthouse 20 mins away. Boothbay a half hour. Restaurants everywhere. We had everything we needed, and Mary was responsive when we needed to reach out. If you are looking for a fancy lake house, look elsewhere. If you miss going to your grandma’s lake house, and want to create that memory for your own kids, this is for you! There was a toy box full of odds and ends toys that our kids played with all week, and they had a big lawn to run around and, of course, a lake to swim in. “A fun, nice and cozy cottage. I really liked fishing and swimming there, jumping in the lake and swimming and we never wanted to go home.”—6 yr old son “Basically, I loved the whole thing.”—4 yr old so

My parents purchased this gorgeous acreage in 1947. They ran a boys camp here until the 1960's. My husband, sons and I completely renovated our lakefront cottage when it was our summer home. After we built a permanent home and retired here, we began renting our dream cottage. This lakeside property has always been our family's sanctuary. I have served on the Pemaquid Watershed Association & now Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust Board of Directors as well as Bremen Conservation Commission and certainly know this area’s hiking, swimming, boating, fishing and paddling areas. Just ask...

Why they chose this property

We were fortunate to have inherited these peaceful natural shorefront, fields & woodlands. There was no place else on earth we'd rather be!

Waking up each morning to see nature’s beauty on the lake. Hearing the cry of the loons in the spring, summer and fall, swimming in the silky smooth water, boating, kayaking and canoeing on these many miles of waterway. Paddling down the Pemaquid River while watching the birds, fish, painted turtles, gorgeous trees and flowers. Eating breakfast or dinner on the cottage deck. Looking up at abundant stars on a crystal clear night while sitting in the open field. Watching sunsets from the field, deck, master bedroom suite, great room or enclosed porch. Walking or driving down the quiet country Fogler Road with it's canopy of trees. Listening to nature.......
