Family Getaway

The stay here was beyond what we expected. Linda and TJ were amazing to deal with and the house was outstanding. Couldn’t of asked for a better vacation!

Perfect Lake House

House was clean and well stocked to help keep it clean. Perfect and beautiful location on Lake Salem. Plenty of room for everyone and lots of things to do in the home on those rainy days. If ever back in the area, would love to stay there again.

Lovely Home. Best fire pit ever!! Beautiful Lake Front, Wonderful sunrises. Enjoyed watching birds at the feeders, and listening to the loons.

Stunning, Comfortale Lake-front home

We had 3 relaxing nights at this lovely lake front home. The rental was clean and had everything and more to make our visit enjoyable. We took advantage of the kayaks for early morning paddles, played ping pong during the rain, and ended our evening with a fire overlooking the lake. We highly recommend this property as a summer retreat.

Thank you Diana for the great review! We stay in our Lake Salem home often and have to say that we do love a rainy day thrown in with the sunshine. Ping pong, pool, puzzles and games are activities that we don't normally participate in otherwise. That being said, there is something really special about having a lakes front campfire on a crisp evening in Vermont... hearing the loons call and gazing at the brilliant stars! We really appreciate you for taking he time to write a review!

Wonderful!!!!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! We could not have ask for a more magical time on Lake Salem! The weather was perfect and the colors were absolutely breathtaking! Everything we needed was already at the lake house and Linda was great to check with us the day we checked in to make sure we were all settled and everything was as we had expected it to be.

Perfect family vacation!

Many thanks to Linda and TJ for sharing their lakefront home with us! It was the perfect place to spend a week with our adult children - kayaks, SUPs, ping pong, a round "game" table! We truly loved our time there. Exploring a new area of Vermont, daily creemees, sunrise & sunset kayak rides, evening games. We even saw a bald eagle! Many thanks!!

Wonderful vacation!

We had an amazing stay at you home! Everything was thought of by homeowners. the house was beautiful and clean and better than what pictures show! the lake is beautiful and can be seen from living room and kitchen. The kayaks were put to good use! Many good restaurants within short drive. Many great spots to visit-Lake Willoughby, Island Pond, Jay Peak, kayaking on Clyde River was fun! We enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful vacation!

The owner Linda is just lovely - she gave us a gift basket full of pancakes and coffee, let us check in early and leave late and was wonderful with communication for the entire trip! Her house is immaculate, scenic and has plenty of room for activities. Lakefront, fire pit, scenic fall trees, kayaks and even a window view loft space. We loved our time and didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend this wonderful spot for a fall vacation. Thank you Linda and TJ!

Spectacular Cottage on the Lake

This is the 4th time we have had the absolute pleasure of staying in this cottage. It overlooks beautiful (and quiet) Lake Salem. The hosts always go above and beyond. Everything was clean and well-stocked from linens and towels to kayaks and paddleboards. We enjoyed stunning views, fishing, canoeing, stargazing, fire pits, and the hot tub. It was a lovely time with family and friends!

Anniversary Getaway

The house is as pictured. The kitchen is well equipped ,nice living room couches, and good master bedroom bed. We enjoyed kayaking both Salem lake and Little Salem lake and fishing. Which we did catch small mouth bass and pickerel. We saw loons, eagles and large Herons. The sunrises were great too. Thanks

This is a repeat!

It is a do again property. well appointed. close to lots of cool stuff to do such as white water rafting, Jay Peak water park and the lake we thought was great. Only downside was the traffic noise but really you get used to it quite quickly.

Great family vacation spot!

We had a blast at the lake house! The house had everything we needed and the view was absolutely gorgeous! Had just about every meal outside on the deck. Great house for kids. Both our 8 year old and 2 year old were happy. Spent time boating and kayaking on Lake Salem, biking on lake Memphremagog, and visiting area farmers markets and farm stands. The kids loved seeing the elk over at Cow Palace! We even took a day trip to Canada. Overall, a wonderful family vacation!

Beautiful and beyond!!

The lake house was above and beyond what we were expecting. It is a beautiful home in the most gorgeous setting and has everything someone needs for a wonderful vacation. We spent a lot of time fishing on dock and hanging around fire pit. Linda and TJ were exceptional hosts and provided great info for the house, check in, the surrounding area, and check out process. They added special touches that we greatly appreciated (fishing poles and tackle and the anniversary basket). On our next trip to Vermont, we will definitely rent this property again.

Vermont Lake House Surrounded by Brilliant New England Fall Foliage

I stayed at this beautiful lakehouse with my girlfriend and another couple, we fly fished the Clyde River, saw Lake Salem from a canoe, enjoyed a lakeside firepit, it was the ideal fall lake trip. What TJ and Linda have done with this house is rare to find! Its a beautiful home with massive windows facing the lake, and you can tell you're in a home that was thoughtfully put together & taken care of. Thank you for sharing this with us and if you're reading this, you won't find better!

Absolutely Amazing

I started bringing my daughters to Lake Salem 30 years ago and loved it so I decided to relive the memories with my 3 grandchildren . I was lucky to find this beautiful home with such wonderful hosts. I have rented many homes over the years but this by far was one of the most beautiful and well kept homes I have stayed in. The house has every possible accommodation you need and then some. It is exquisitely decorated , charming yet very welcoming and homey feeling ! It is filled with all the comforts of home. The lakefront and view are spectacular. The sunsets while the loons sing to you are memorable! We loved every moment and can’t wait to come back! The hosts Linda and TJ are great!

Perfect Lake House!

This was our 2nd year staying at this lovely lake house. There is absolutely nothing left to be desired when you stay here. Linda and TJ have thought of everything. The house is welcoming and full of every convenience you could ask for. The view from the porch is breathtaking morning, afternoon and evening. We loved taking out the canoe and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the lake. Our children played and swam out to the raft and enjoyed just relaxing on the dock. We hated to leave this year when our week was up and felt the same in 2014. This is just the perfect house for a lakeside vacation. We are already planning a longer stay for summer 2016. After staying here for two summers in a row, one week just isn't enough! The Lynn Family

Memories for life

Staying here was more than imagined. The house is beautiful, very well furnished and stocked with more than needed and tastefully decorated. Working with Linda was such a pleasure as she is kind and flexible. The lake was much bigger than I thought and we really enjoyed swimming, kayaking and fishing. I sat on the dock most mornings and took in the beauty of lake Salem. The surroundings were peaceful, the locals so friendly, and everything we needed close by. We had a great time playing pool with the kids, taking them on the boat and just watching them have the best time. There isn't a single thing I would have changed about our vacation except maybe staying longer as it was so saddening to leave. If you choose this home for your vacation you will NOT be sorry...I have no doubt it will exceed your every expectation as it did ours. Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful place for folks to get away!!!!! Until next year!!

November in Vermont

My husband and I stayed a long weekend at the lake house. I would recommend it to anyone. High-end appliances- quality towels and linens. We actually christened the brand new gas stove in by baking a roasting chicken via beer can method...I came home to telling my husband I want a new gas stove ! The expansive deck was beautiful-I watched every sunrise except on the last morning because a snow storm moved in. Linda prepped a wheel barrel of logs for us to burn in the fire-pit right next to the lake and we took full advantage late one night while star gazing sitting in the Adirondack chairs. There are too many things to mention--all positive. We have rented homes on HomeAway & VRBO for over 15 years now from Florida to California and I must say this is one of my favorites. Linda was a great hostess !

Perfect Getaway!

This property was perfect for our family vacation! The house is beautiful, clean with lots of space for everyone. The lakefront is gorgeous with plenty of great places to gather from sitting on the grass overlooking the lake to the large deck area with an abundance of chairs. The owners Linda & TJ were beyond accommodating. They are very in-tune to what a quests needs are which can be seen from all the fine details they provide for you stay, from all the fun amenities you could possibly need like paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, even a ping-pong/billboard table; to perfectly cut firewood ready to be used in the cozy fire pit right on the edge of the lake. In the house the beds are super comfy, the appliances are clean and up to date. There are so many comfortable places to sit, relax and see the beautiful views of the lake out the large glass pane windows! Our family had a great time in the lake and out, I would highly recommend this property to anyone; for families, groups or even couples looking for a step into nature and fresh water lake life! Beautiful House for our Family Vacation

This house has everything. Everything is well appointed and clean. It overlooks the lake, which is not that busy. The house has all you need. The grill was sparkling clean, there are hooks in the shower to hang bathing suits, and there are lots of towels, several boats with life jackets for everyone, games, etc. The basket of water shoes was handy (recommended for walking in the lake). There were lots of beds. The one in the basement TV room was particularly comfortable! We were there when it was above 90 outside - and the room air conditioners and fans kept things cool. I imagine you don't need them most of the time this far north. There is some great hiking and swimming in the area. The lake is small enough to kayak around - and in the mornings I kayaked right next to a pair of loons. Really lovely. The owners have cleared the growth in the lake in front of their dock - so the water was very clear. The lake is pretty shallow pretty far out, which is great for kids. The only thing that was less than 5 star was that the property is right next to a major road (major for VT) and something about the acoustics of the lake makes it very loud when a car - and particularly a truck - drives by. Inside the house was pretty quiet - but it did reach the deck and yard overlooking the lake.

We stayed at Linda & TJ's gorgeous home the first week in September, and the place is beyond gorgeous. There is ample room for many guests, though it was only my fiance and I this time. The home is so well kept and cared for, there is every amenity in the home you can think of. The downstairs 'playroom' is perfect for just hanging out and watching movies and Netflix, the upstairs loft area is great to sit in and read, enjoying the beautiful views of the lake. The main floor has a wonderful living room, with 2 comfortable reclining coaches. A fireplace, two glass doors leading out to the deck. A kitchen that is updated and full of anything you may need. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed, which you NEVER find on vacation! The owners, TJ & Linda, were beyond accommodating. Due to health issues, we had to postpone our vacation - I had thought it would be a complete loss, since it was one week before we were scheduled to leave. Linda bent over backwards to let us change the dates, and luckily they had availability - but they were both so accommodating to help us, and they 100% did not have to. They knew how much we wanted and needed this vacation, and they did everything they could to make our stay beyond memorable. We will be going back, for sure. I never write reviews, but I wanted to make sure everyone knows not only how great this home is, but also how great Linda and TJ are!

Family Time

We all had a WONDERFUL VACATION from 10 to 75. Loved the lake, the home the area and the owners . Couldn't have been more enjoyable all around !!! Thankful for the washing machine. Great weather, Super wildlife. Having the paddleboards, kayaks, etc at our disposal was a blessing ! Thank you Linda & T.J. for sharing !!!

My husband and I absolutely love this place and spend as much time there as we are able. We have many wonderful family memories with our two boys, now grown and on their own, but still return for family gatherings on Lake Salem. We enjoy sharing our little piece of paradise with others.
