We were here for my son’s graduation celebration and I am so glad we chose this amazing property. The yard was so beautiful with a panoramic view of the harbor. The house was the perfect size for our extended family to be comfortable. The pool was awesome with a flip of a switch firepit where we had lots of laughs. Highly recommend this place!
This home was perfect for our family reunion. It was clean, nicely appointed and spread out with plenty of areas to relax. The pool was wonderful, especially because we had it heated. Being on the water next to the lighthouse made for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The ferry was closed due to choppy water but the drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park was only about an hour away. Nice restaurants nearby. We had a lovely time.

thank you for the great review DeAnne! I loved that you took advantage of so much at the house and nearby! Good for you!
This house was perfect for our family vacation. Very spacious and has amazing views being right on the water. Plenty of outdoor space for our little 6lb chihuahua to run around. 10 minutes away from Winter Harbor and the ferry to take you to Bar Harbor. Less than an hour drive to Acadia National Park. Plenty of restaurants near by. The house had the right amount of privacy without feeling completely cut off from the outside world. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a Maine Vacation. Owner was very nice and she takes very good care of this wonderful property. We're very grateful to be able to stay here. Thank you.

thank you for the lovely review, Jonathan. I hope you will come back!
Our family of 11 (6 adults and 5 kids) stayed for 7 nights while exploring Acadia, and we had a wonderful vacation. The property is absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking harbor views. The home was spotless, check-in was seamless, and the pool was a huge hit with the kids. (We chose not to pay the additional 200/day to heat it, so it was too chilly for most of the adults.)A few things we wish we’d known before booking: a full background check is required to rent (no issue just unexpected), and the listing photos don’t show that every arm chair, couch, and dining chair is covered with heavy protective plastic or vinyl. While I understand wanting to protect the furnishings, it made the home feel less comfortable and welcoming than we expected. Combined with the owner stopping by a few times during our stay to grab items from the garage, it felt more like staying in someone’s personal home than a vacation rental.Of note: the departure instructions appeared to require washing and folding all linens, mopping floors, mowing the lawn, touching up paint, and more. We set alarms for 5am before realizing it was a joke and that all that’s actually required is locking the door. We can laugh about it now, but after a week where the home had not felt laid back and relaxing, the joke didn’t quite land for us.With that said, this is a gorgeous property in a spectacular location. We made incredible family memories here, and I hope this review helps future guests know what to expect.
This home was perfect for our family vacation! Our children and grandchildren joined us and had much fun in the pool, while we enjoyed the peace and quiet the large bay frontage allowed us. Our dog had a wonderful time, the house is very dog friendly and the dogs who like to swim, as ours does, there is a small bay 500 yards away that is safe for them to do so. Awesome place!

HI Malcolm Thanks for the lovely review! This is such a great home for extended family vacations. Happy to host you this summer!
Great home, great host, great home! Super clean and immaculate. I loved the scenery from the primary bedroom and the walk to the rocky beach. I would definitely stay here again!Just be aware, it is close to a part of Acadia National Park (Winter Harbor) not the the main park near Bar Harbor, but it’s beautiful none the less. I would say it’s a 45- 55 drive to Bar Harbor on a typical day. We wish we had more time here!

And don't forget to add GREAT guest to the list! So glad you enjoyed youselves and the quiet side of Acadia. So many people are unaware of it and it is just as spectacular as the Bar Harbor section. Please come again!
This house was beautiful! Spacious yard, right on the ocean. Great location for exploring Acadia National Park. Gorgeous view of the harbor & we had a great time exploring on the rocks when the tide went down. One of the reasons we booked this house was the heated pool, not realizing it was an additional 200/day to heat it. We ended up just swimming in it cold. The ice maker on the fridge didn’t work & the main freezer unexpectedly stopped working mid week after we had bought groceries for there. We let the owner know & they were very responsive to say they were unaware of the issue & would fix it. hopefully the next person won’t have that issue. The owner was exceptionally kind & nice, but we were surprised by multiple visits that were all unannounced. They said they were checking on the pool. One of the days a cleaning person parked in the driveway for hours as she said she was restocking bags for the next group coming or something.(?) None of these were a big deal, just seemed odd & when we have young kids running around & don’t know who these strangers are- it adds some stress. Would have been nice to have communication of any visits prior to people showing up.We booked this for our multi-family trip, & it was wonderful for my elderly mom to have the single level space to flow about the house. Plenty of space. We spent several days exploring Maine, but our favorite day was when we just stayed at the house the entire day- relaxing & watching the harbor.Thank you!
This stay was really amazing. The pool, the views, the ocean air, the extensive and well-maintained lawn provided us with lots to do with four families gathered together ages ranging 3-70. Excellent location for viewing the ocean, crab hunting, flying kites, endless hours at the pool, we hardly wanted to leave the house! But when we did, Schoodic was only 10 minutes away and another small, quaint, and quiet beach about 5 minutes away. There is a great lobster tour only 5 minutes away in Corea that I would highly recommend as well.

Andrea --Sounds like you really took advantage and experienced it all! A great Maine vacation! Glad you enjoyed yourselves!
My family and I traveled with friends to Maine all the way from Texas and New Mexico. This house was the highlight of our trip! Just a beautiful spot. We were very comfortable. The weather was too cool to use the pool, but we still had a great stay here.

Thank you Emily! Isn't it great to be a vacation highlight! We are so pleased your extended family enjoyed this spot.
The location was fantastic, views everywhere you looked.Watched seals ,hunted the rocks for treasures. Visited Scoodic Point several times, tried several hikes.Ferry to Bar Harbor was the easy way to get there.Kids loved having the pool but it was very cold so the adults not so much, pools in New England need to be heated, The property was as described, very clean and well stocked.Definitely a return sometime.

Everything is as advertised. Lots of space inside and out. Furniture covers are a bit annoying since they don’t stay in place. Overall had a great stay!

We loved this house! Very clean and spacious. The pool is huge and was a big hit with our kids! The house came stocked with all the essentials in the kitchen and bathroom (like coffee filters, oil, salt, sugar, shampoo, conditioner, etc) which was perfect on arrival day. We loved the quaint town and remote location. This is a wonderful home, plus check in and check out was a breeze!

This home is very large, well stocked and very well cared for. We thoroughly enjoyed the large yard, patio and pool on the beautiful harbor. When we had a technical issue in the home, the property manager was immediately available to work with us to resolve. The home is fairly remote with the drive to Bar Harbor taking about one hour.

The pictures online don’t do justice to the spaciousness of the house. Wonderful location. Large pool. Only drawback was that the pullout couch mattress is quite uncomfortable, and the showers were tepid, not hot. But we had a great time here.

Thank you for the review, unfortunately the way this guest treated this home was disrespectful. The home was left a disaster. While we don’t require our guests to do laundry, or clean the home before they leave we do expect them to pick up after themselves. There was dog food from one end of the home to the other. They removed all of the protective covers from the furniture and piled them on the dining table. Left bags of trash on the floor instead of taking the trash 15 feet out the door to the dumpster, left a pile of hair floating in the pool to clog the skimmer, used almost every dish in the home leaving them on the counters and in the sink without doing a single load and used our dishes for dog bowls. Further, they would not allow lawn maintenance to be done leaving other guests with less quality than what they received. They broke the pool key off leaving the pool unlocked and unprotected. They rearranged all of the furniture in two of the living rooms and left them for housekeeping to put back. It took housekeeping two days and 15 hours to bring the home back to the condition we require for our guests. Completely appalled at the lack of concern for another person’s property. This is a family home not just an investment. As for the temp of the hot water, it is set at the temperature allowed by local code for rentals.

Thank you Donetta! A nice review from a nice guest. We sure appreciate it!
This property is amazing. It reminds me of the sprawling houses you see of old time stars homes of Beverly Hills. We had our family and our grown kids and our grand kids. We do a one week get together every year and this property made it everyone’s all time favorite place. One day we drove to Acadia Park then to Bar Harbor. But honestly we all wanted to just enjoy the pool, the vast lawn and the fabulous harbor and lighthouse view. I am a morning person and sitting in the back yard and watching the lobster boats with my morning coffee was the best. The late nighters loved having cocktails at the back yard table facing the lighthouse. This place is amazing. The owners were always there ready to answer questions. Great yard for games and children to run.
