- The house had a bud infestation and there were bugs flying around and dead on the floor- The number provided in case of emergencies was not active and went right to voicemail- The host was unresponsive for hours - There were 2 issues with the water1. It turned off and required to a trip to the basement for the circuit breaker. This was not communicated until the following morning at 5am2. The breaker for the hot water turned off and we had no hot water in the house- Outlets in the kitchen did not work

Hi Liza, I'm sorry you had so many issues during your stay. I understand there were lady bugs and we are addressing the seasonal problem so it won't happen again next year. The house notes clearly explain that water pump needs to be switched on. The hot water cannot function unless the water pump is on to feed water into it. My cleaner also would have told you this if you had called her, or if you had simply read the house notes. Again, my apologies.

This beautiful house is clean and comfortable and very well stocked with kitchen utensils, cookware, dishes, flatware, dish soap, hand soaps as well as towels, wash cloths, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. High end appliances throughout. No issues with wi-fi for us, solid connection the whole time. The yard is small but the porch with propane grill and beautiful view was a highlight. Umbrella for table and chairs was not there for us, but I am sure if we reached out to the host about this they would have made it right, as communication was good. Location is fairly central to plenty of hiking (lots nearby) and dining options. C D Lane park about 1 mile down the road is an excellent option for sports activities, swimming and even light hiking, there are grills on site as well; could easily make a day of it. Grocery options are limited/far/expensive, best to plan ahead and bring with you if you plan on cooking. Didn't notice on the listing that the fireplace is off limits to guests. Also there are 2 ring cameras, one facing the driveway and one facing the steps to the front entrance; once you are in the house though, it is private. No trash/recycle pick-up, so you have to take it with you or to the transfer station right off Rte 23 in Windham. All that being said, we had an excellent stay and would rent again if we are in the area.Sorry for the long write-up, but we feel the house and stay deserve better reviews than the other 2.

Beautiful Views, NO INTERNET/PHONE SVC

This place was beautiful, clean, had amazing views. The only problem, NO internet or phone svc AT ALL our whole stay & HOST was NO RESPONSE until her asst msgd us in the am after our check out time. The host turned us down to check in a little early (normal check in is 4pm & ck-out 10am) due to guests coming from out of the country, we weren't looking to pay additional early checkin fees when we were ONLY staying 1 night, knowing it would include full cleaning fee (same as if stayed a week). We just wanted to make sure checkin went smoothly and get settled in to enjoy the few hours we had for the one night. Once we finally got in there was no service to internet or phones and we had to drive miles away to sit on side of road msg'g the host-NO REPLY. Gave up and the rest of the night worried if any emergency happened there was no way to call for help! That was very concerning to all the guests and put a huge responsibility on me not being able to enjoy a drink in case I'd have to drive to make a call. Again, this place was gorgeous but something has to be done about the service in the event of an emergency.

Hi Veronica, the internet was fine. You were using the wrong password. Just to set the record straight, I didn’t “turn you down” on your early check-in request (which was made only a few hours before your check-in instead of 48 hours in advance ). Rather, I let you in almost a full hour early and didn’t ask you to pay the fee. I’m sorry you had problems but I don’t think your review is fair.
