This place was pretty perfect. They had everything we needed on-site, and the various floors and decks allowed for privacy whenever needed. Even caught a few largemouth off the dock!Only item of note, was that quite a few primary entrance/exits were not able to be locked, due to the older hardware. Easily fixable. We are looking forward to coming back again!
Host was very responsive and helpful! House is cute and the view is beautiful. But the house has some insulation issues, and very cold rooms even with the heat on. However we all had a fantastic time!

Great piece of property on a nice quiet lake. Options for games (cornhole, volleyball), kayaks and even a pontoon. Plenty of room for 7 adults and 2 teens.
Thank you so much for a fabulous vacation, we all had a great time including the dogs! We loved having the boat all week, the lake was beautiful! Great fishing! House was clean and a great size for our group! Owners are fabulous and easy to work with!
Upon first arrival it was obvious that the lodge was impeccably clean and beautifully equipped from cooks tools to a pack and play. We were able to relax, cook great meals without worry. The layout provided space for our multigenerational group and we liked it so much we booked a stay for next year while we were still there. Thank you!

We had an amazing time. The beds were very comfortable, there was plenty of kitchen space. The patio was nice to hang out at, and the kids especially liked the volleyball court. Great place. The only thing that would make it a little nicer is if we had a little more cabinet space to put our groceries. But that was a minor thing

Clean, comfortable, quiet, well-stocked home with a great view. Plenty of space to gather or be alone. Enjoyed the horseshoes, volleyball, pool table, and pontoon. Owner was great to work with. Rockford is a great town to visit.

Great location, beautiful beach. Small issue with heating, which was promptly taken care of and heat was turned in the same evening. Great parking and lots of room inside the property as well.

The property has many amenities, volleyball, horseshoes, corn hole, fishing, private beach and more. Beautiful roomy rustic home at end of no outlet road, makes for a great place for young children.
A few of us moms and kids just stayed at this cottage and is was beyond perfect! There was plenty of room inside for each group to have their own space/bathroom and the outside was a dream. We spent full days out enjoying the lake , would def recommend and return

Great space for a large group. Plenty of kitchen supplies. There were a lot of toys and games at the house. Outdoor area is great. We didn’t get to spend as much time as we would have liked outside due to rain, but there is plenty of outdoor seating, horse shoe pit, corn hole, water activities, and fire pit. Don’t hesitate to rent this place. It’s great!!
This was an absolutely lovely cabin. Clean. Large. Cozy. Exactly as advertised. Well stocked kitchen. Fireplace. Pool table. Our family was impressed and had a blast! The extra refrigerator came in handy too. Given the chance, will definitely stay here again!

Thank You for being a great guest Susan, we hope to have you back.
We rented the house on Big Crooked Lake for an extended family weekend and everything about it was wonderful. The house is well equipped - from the kitchen to the indoor and outdoor equipment and games. The family spent a couple of days on the lake in the pontoon boat and even ate dinner and watched a sunset from the boat one evening. We also enjoyed campfires on several evenings by the lake. I would recommend this place without hesitation and am considering coming back again next year.

Thank you so much for the kind words! We love hearing stories of family get togethers on the lake. We hope you stay again next year!
Overall, it is a nice property. Main issues where that the doors do not lock downstairs, had multiple breakers trip throughout the house, propane grill has a leak when attached to a full tank, & the indoor fireplace wouldn’t light. Still enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your honest feedback, Brittney. We will address these issues with our staff, and we thank you for the stay!
We were only here 3 nights, but we thoroughly enjoyed it! Our only regret was that we were not able to take advantage of the watercraft due to the time of year. Should be we find ourselves down this way again, we will look this place up first.
One important thing I want to highlight - I have had a terrible back basically since I was 12 years old. The bed upstairs was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on, other than my own!

Thank you for staying with us! We're so glad you enjoyed your time with us.
My husband and I wanted to take his 79 year old mother away for a peaceful weekend. This home was beautiful and the view was amazing! Everything was great with the exception of their being too many stairs for a senior citizen. Additionally, there was not a fully stocked coffee bar, which most rentals have. Because we arrived late, we were unable to enjoy a cup of coffee the first morning there. My husband and I would definitely stay again when we are back in Michigan.

Hi Kathy, we are glad that you enjoyed the home! We agree, there are a lot of stairs! Thankfully we have the basement area with a full kitchen, bathroom and bedroom that requires no stairs to access.
We spent a very wonderful long weekend at this property with our family, celebrating a 70th birthday.
Pros: home was ready early and clean!
Property mgmt responded quickly when we had questions.
Ample room for our group of 12 who stayed and the additional people who came for the party
2 fridges were a plus.
Great views of the lake.
Weather was chilly but the deck warmed up nicely for those who wanted to get outside.
Kitchen appliances were nice and extra stove in basement was great for all the cooking.
Cons: kitchen wasn’t supplied well with lots of gadgets but we always travel prepared.
Basement was very cold, but we used a bedroom space heater we found. There looks like a wall space heater in the basement (kerosene?) but there were not instructions - although to be fair we did not ask about it.
The cons would not keep us from coming back!!
Rockford was a fun side trip and the Honey Creek Inn is a MUST! Good food and very nice staff. Be sure to visit the Rockford cheese shop!

Response from VrboOwner on 15 January 2025
Hi Mary, so great to hear you enjoyed the home with your family! We like to think the kitchen is very well stocked but any feedback is definitely welcome! We wish you would have reached out about the space heater as we could have helped.
Communication was great, and owner/management team were very thoughtful. There is definitely wear showing on some of the furniture and home details. There was a screw popping out of the shower faucet handle assembly in the en-suite. We couldn’t get the oven on the lower level to work, and the oven on the main level had major temp issues, needs calibration badly. Keurig machine was finicky, saying it needs to be descaled. Filter light was blinking on the fridge, and the ice machine didn’t work. The ceiling fan in the kitchen was so filthy, and definitely reachable by the cleaning team. None of these issues warranted us calling the management company, but just wanted to pass along this feedback so it can get resolved for the next renter. I’m sure if we had contacted them they would have tried to assist while we were there.
