About this property

Exotic Spanish Estate Sleeps 10, Saltwater Pool, Gardens, Romantic, Private

The City of Palm Springs ID #1623.

Casa de Monte Vista means "House with the mountain view." Our property sits at the base of a 10,000 ft mountain providing majestic views. We have four individual poolside casitas with private entrances, covered patios, king bed, kitchenette (or full kitchen), tile bathrooms with walk-in showers, wifi and Apple TV. All private Casitas are near the solar-heated warm salt-water pool and spa, lounge and outdoor cafe/bar on 1 acre of botanical garden grounds. We are close to family-friendly activities and nightlife. Located only 6 blocks from downtown Palm Springs, museums, shopping, restaurants and bars, we are a favorite place to stay during the Mid Century Modern Week, Coachella Music Festival and other local events. You may rent any of the four individual casitas at separate rates or the entire estate. Find us for more details.

Nestled in the historic Old Las Palmas area of Palm Springs, we are one of the original properties built in Palm Springs during the late 1920s. Frequented by some of the most legendary luminaries from Hollywood, this Old Spanish Estate evokes the secluded and nostalgic atmosphere that Palm Springs is known for. Once owned by Robert Stack in the 1950-60s, the property was a common gathering place for the Rat Pack during the 60's.

Private and Beautiful getaway

My boyfriend and I rented out the entire property with a few friends and had the best time. We went for New Years eve and unfortunately there was a freeze over/rain that week so we couldn't enjoy the pool and jacuzzi as much as we'd like, but it was still an amazing experience. The owner was very helpful and responsive. The house was fully equipped with outdoor heaters so that we could still enjoy the outside areas. This place is absolutely stunning with great outdoor dining areas. Definitely recommend for a group of couples or friends as each bedroom is separate from the main house. Beautiful piece of property. Great place, would definitely book again for the right occasion!

A great, private getaway

First, I'd give an extra half star if I could. This a great bit of property just off of Palm Canyon Drive in a beautiful neighborhood. the grounds are spacious and well maintained. In particular the pool and Jacuzzi are clean and warm (80 degree pool!). Our hosts, Joe and Diane, were readily available and accommodating while being very hands off and unintrusive. You may not get the bells and whistles of a hotel stay, but you do get an abundance of charm and a sense of privacy missing at any of the larger nearby resorts.

Great place!

This was an amazing place to stay for the 5 days we were in Palm Springs. The owner and staff are fantastic, very helpful and friendly. The Estate was such a wonderful change from staying in a hotel. We stayed in Casa Antigua and had our own kitchen, sitting area, patio and could walk out our door into the pool. Everything was immaculate, inside and out. It was like an oasis from the city but very close to Palm Canyon Drive where there are wonderful restaurants, stores, galleries and even some live entertainment. After staying here I don't want to stay in a hotel again! The decor and grounds are a feast for the senses and the staff and owner are interesting and entertaining hosts who make you feel welcome within minutes. I would highly recommend this place and am looking forward to going back myself. It was a home away from home, except better!

A little slice of heaven

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The pictures don't do it justice! It is close enough to walk downtown, but far enough away that it's quiet and peaceful. Great views of the mountains from the pool. I spent a lot of time sitting poolside and was usually the only person there. The pool is small, but well maintained. The jacuzzi is attached to the pool. The grounds are gorgeous. The owners were extremely nice. Overall, the place has great character, definitely a special place. I would say that this place is perfect if you are looking for a quiet place to get away and relax. I spent a couple days here and felt completely rejuvenated after the trip. I will definitely be back!

Private & tranquil oasis - yet within walking distance to downtown

This property is a hidden treasure tucked behind walls in the beautiful Old Las Palmas neighborhood of Palm Springs. The architecture of the buildings is charming and the manicured grounds are lovely. The casita we stayed in was tastefully appointed with every amenity and french doors opened onto a small private patio with views of the lush landscaped pool area. The owners, Lisa & Joe were pleasant and we enjoyed some interesting conversations with Joe. The caretaker, Johann, was informative and helpful with our stay and offered some ideas on local attractions. What a great getaway - we plan to come back!

Lovely!

This is one of Palm Springs best kept secrets! Such a gorgeous property! So much nicer than a "hotel" atmosphere. The grounds are AMAZING and the decor is just beautiful. Peaceful, immaculate and very comfortable, we were welcomed and both Joe and Lisa went out of their way to make our stay nice. We loved the location and being able to walk to our favorite restaraunts downtown. We will definitely stay here again and look forward to it!

This was our first trip to Palm Springs. We spent 5 nights in the casita. It was a pleasure dealing with Lisa throughout - from the initial phone call to make the booking, subsequent emails, to meeting Lisa herself upon our arrival. Lisa made sure that we had everything we needed. This location is ideal; it is a 10 min walk to the town centre. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained - the casita was spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and we really appreciated having the use of a fridge, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and 2 burner stove so we didn't have to eat every meal out. All in all, a quiet and restful place. We loved it so much that we wouldn't consider going to Palm Springs again unless we could stay here again!
