We enjoyed our stay. It would have been nice if the lawn had been mowed to make it easier to walk around and enjoy the surroundings. The kitchen was very well equipped. The rooms appear a lot bigger in the pictures than they actually are but were adequate. Overall a 4.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciated our well-stocked kitchen.
We apologize that the lawn hadn't been mowed before your arrival. Recent rain delayed our mowing schedule, and we're sorry this impacted your ability to enjoy the property and made your stay less than ideal.
We appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you back for an even better stay in the future!
We had such a wonderful stay! The house was perfect for our group â plenty of space for me, my boyfriend, our friends, family, and even our pet. It was peaceful, clean, and beautifully set in the country with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. We loved sitting outside, enjoying the quiet, and spending time together. The hosts thought of every detail and made us feel right at home. We canât wait to come back! Perfect space, close to VMI, watched my boy, who plays for Wofford, WIN!
Great location. But house has problems. A dozen or so dead cockroaches in our bedroom. Maybe 20 dead cockroaches on front porch. One not so dead cockroach in upstairs bathroom sink watching me brush my teeth. Charming.Toilets keep running until you jiggle the flush lever.Propane grill was filthy, very rusty and would not ignite.Lighting was poor. DVD player worked but had large humming noise.

We also appreciate you bringing the toilet, grill, lighting, and DVD player issues to our attention, and we'll be addressing each of these with our maintenance team.
Thank you again for your feedbackâit helps us continue improving the guest experience.
We loved the property so much. We came back a second time! Great place to stay if you want comfort and privacy and many places to explore on and off the property. Our kids loved playing in the creek catching crawfish, campfires in the evenings roasting marshmallows by the creek makes for great family memories. We will definitely be back again!

Thanks so much for staying with us and we hope you had a wonderful time at the wedding!!
Our multi generation family stayed 4 nights at this farm house near Lexington. We were in town for a family wedding at Big Spring Farm, about 20 minutes away. Plenty of room to relax on the sectional couch or on the front porch, and play games around the large kitchen table. There is one queen bedroom and a half bath on the main floor. Upstairs there is a queen bedroom with an insuite bathroom, a king bedroom, and a "kid" room with bunkbed and twin with trundle. Also, a bathroom in the upstairs hallway. Each bedroom has its own air-conditioner unit, which we ran nonstop with the 100 heat wave. There's also a window unit in the living room which kept that room cool. The kitchen stayed warm without its own a/c unit. We cooked breakfast every morning, also used the grill one night. The house is very well stocked to cook and even plenty of paper supplies. The only thing I missed was baking sheets. We walked across the street to the creek and firepit area, and walked a small trail along the creek, and our daughter visited the chickens on the back hill and the neighbor horses. We saw dozens of deer, lots of bunnies, and 1 bear. We didn't used the little reading shed, but it would be nice in cooler weather. Very peaceful place to stay! Thank you Tommy for all your help and quick responses

Thank you for writing such a wonderful review! It was a pleasure hosting you and your family while in town :)
Some friends stayed at this house. It was a beautiful property, just an old farmhouse. Great for what it is, and is perfect for a group looking for a somewhat remote farmhouse! Not perfect for our group, but I donât fault anyone but myself.

Thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to leave a review! We're glad your friends enjoyed the property and appreciate your thoughtful feedback. Wishing you all the best in your future travels!
Really enjoyed our stay! Beautiful scenery all around and so peaceful! The rooms had a good amount of space and the kitchen had everything you would need! It is a bit far from everything. We werenât anticipating the long roads to get to places and our GPS kept cutting out which made it difficult to navigate in an area we have never been, but we managed :) Overall it was perfect for our girlâs weekend, spanning 3 generations! Tommy was a great host and when we had questions he was very responsive! If we ever find ourselves in that area again we would definitely book again!
Our Thanksgiving stay was wonderful. We had 9 adults and a 12 year old and we had more than enough space. The farm is amazing and there is a whole mountain right outside the front door! Wow! The creek was a lovely bonus. As remote.as we were the wifi was perfect and the home was equipped with everything we needed and more, even a few things for our dog. I didnt need.to communicate with the host during our stay but communication prior to our stay was.quick and positive. Thank you for allowing us into your comfy cozy home.
Perfect location to unwind and unplug for the family. Kids played outside the entire time there without even asking for their electronics. It was amazing.
5 stars plus. Perfect for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving together. The home was very comfortable and very well appointed. The surrounding property was picturesque. I absolutely loved having hiking right out the back door. Loved this property and being able to bring our corgi was a huge bonus. and will return.

It was a pleasure to host you and your family for Thanksgiving, and so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us! We look forward to having you back in the future :)
Super cool place to rent for a long weekend. We enjoyed it so much we added a day before and after. House had all kinds of supplies and tools. My 11 year old step-son wanted and did play in the creek all day! The creek front was awesome, no one complained and everyone had such a wonderful time in the peace and beauty of the countryside! Definitely recommend... đ

Thanks so much for staying with us! We love hanging at the creek during the summer months with kayaks and floats. Hope to see you again!
We had a horse show at the Virginia Horse Center and had party members coming in from Iowa to attend. This lovely home gave each of us a comfortable room to sleep in after each long day. The kitchen was well laid out for food prep. Being able to sit outside to enjoy the rain was wonderful. The road to and from the home was twisty turny, so driving slow and alert is a must. Cell signal was spotty but the WiFi in the house was perfect.
All in all, we hope they are available for next years show.

Pleasure having you stay with us, and so glad to hear you enjoyed the home! We look forward to hosting you next year when visiting the Virginia Horse Center.
We loved the peace and quiet and complete break from our daily routine. The creek was an absolute hit / it drizzled and we spent hours down there fishing and chilling. Our dog was in heaven. Nothing could have been more perfect for our family. We regrouped and enjoyed the down time, and just loved the setting and the rustic charm of the old farmhouse. We star gazed at night on the deep and comfy front porch while preparing our supper on the grill. Magical. Thank you for tending to all our needs. Awesome. Iâm

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Family getaway for a wedding.
Beautiful property and farmhouse. Not very clean. There were mice droppings in drawers and on floors. The outside porch had been dirty as well as the chairs and fire pit by the stream. The fire pit was unusable. The reading shed was dirty as well with drink bottles left from other visitors. The communication with the owner was excellent with running out of drinking water and his prompt reply. The price was a bit steep considering the uncleanliness and unusable fire pit and reading cabin.

Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting the beauty of our farmhouse and property. Weâre truly sorry your experience didnât reflect the high standards we aim to uphold. Cleanliness is something we take seriously, and weâve already had a thorough conversation with our housekeeping team to ensure this doesnât happen again. Weâve also fully replaced the fire pit and deep cleaned the porch, seating areas, and the reading shed to restore the peaceful, relaxing spaces our guests deserve.
Weâre grateful you mentioned the prompt communicationâguest care is very important to us, and weâre always just a message away if something isnât right during a stay. Your comments have helped us make immediate improvements, and we hope youâll consider visiting again to experience the updates firsthand.
Warmly,
Tommy
This is the second time Iâve rented this place. The first time was for a family vacation. It met all of our needs. We were able to have a beautiful house with a full kitchen as well as grounds for camping and spending time by the water. Recently, I use this spot as a retreat center for my book writing project. It was absolutely phenomenal.
The kitchen was fully stocked. I made all of my meals on site. The host provided everything I needed and was very attentive to any incidentals that came up.
Personally, I appreciate it being 25 minutes away from Lexington. It allowed me to fully focus on my task at hand.
The host provided information regarding area hikes, and places of interest where I could further enhance my experience. I will revisit this place many times.

We enjoyed this property so much!!!
Itâs a short drive to VMI, yet far away enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country site.
The farmhouse was very clean with all amenities at your fingertips. It was plentiful stocked with everything youâd possibly need. Plenty towels, clean bed linens and having the washer/dryer was a definite plus.
The kitchen was stocked well beyond expectations. The smart tvâs throughout the house were a lifesaver for our young adults, and made a traditional movie night an absolute success.
You can explore the property and best of all was having the fire down by the creek and enjoying a starry, crisp fall night.
The little cottage out back makes a great spot for your morning cup of tea with a great book.
The host was prompt in responding to any of our questions and kept us well informed regarding our reservation and check in instructions. And when we decided last minute to extend 1 additional night they made the transaction super smooth.
We will definitely back.

We are so glad to hear you and family enjoyed the farm and surrounding area. The creek is one of our places to hang out both during the day and night, and what really attracted us to the property, along with all the great outdoor space. We look forward to hosting you when back visiting VMI.
We were planning our almost 4 year old granddaughter's first camping trip, and decided it would be best to camp right near a cabin or house just in case she did not like being in a tent and also in case of inclement weather.
We picked this property because of the creek! My granddaughter loves splashing in creeks!
Thomas and Dave said we could pitch our tents down by the creek.
It was perfect!
When we arrived, we found that all of the grass in the field by the creek was freshly mowed, perfect for pitching our tents and enjoying the creek! There is also a âbeachâ area right there, with a picnic table, fire pit, and plenty of chairs. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our time there!
The house was also perfect! Plenty of space for all of us, bedroom wise, as well as in the kitchen and living room. We had some rainy weather over the few days we were there, and spent a fair amount of time in that living room hanging out and even watching a movie:)
The front porch was another place we spent many sweet moments together! It was spacious and comfortable! (And covered enough for us to sit outside even in the rain.)
The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed (the best stocked kitchen I have ever stayed in)!
Thomas was quick to respond to any online messages, and Dave lives just down the road, so is accessible if needed.
We all loved our time there and will be back!
