About this property

Mermaid Cove

We are located one mile from the beach. There are many things to do on the island such as restaurants, shops, ice cream and coffee shops, many miles of beach to walk and explore. The apartment is located on the bottom part of our beach house. Private entrance is included. The indoor bathroom does not include a shower but there is an outside shower that feels wonderful, is enclosed, both hot and cold water.
The cove includes a living room area with a TV, kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and toaster oven. All utensils, plates, etc. are included.
The bedroom is spacious with a dresser and a double bed and air conditioning. Very private and quiet.
The bathroom includes a sink and toilet, as mentioned the outside shower is great and is the ultimate in the beach experience.

Quick drive to the beach

Our stay was very cozy and the space was great for the two of us. This space is well located near the bridge in order to get to groceries and restaurants but also just a couple minute drive to the beach which makes for easy trips back and forth if needed.

Nice, cozy, safe place to stay

Came to visit friends in Oak island and stayed here. Close to everything, felt very safe and comfortable. Really only used it to sleep and shower. The shower is outside but I loved it. Hot and cold water right away, very roomy. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Exactly as pictured

Stayed for a 2 day fishing trip with friends. Was 4 minutes from the pier which was perfect. Very clean. Communication with host was awesome. Check in process was simple and easy. Was perfect for 3 fishermen who just wanted a place to stay overnight.

I mean, it'll do. Nothing majorly wrong or fabulous about the place. Only part I really didn't enjoy was the only shower is outdoors and the bedroom window was blocked. A/C worked fine for the place and plenty of privacy.

We love living at the beach on Oak Island. It is a remarkable area with lots to do, or nothing to do at all without the commotion of places like Myrtle Beach. We do a lot of bike riding, walks with our dog, pickleball playing and just hanging out on the porch enjoying the view.

Why they chose this property

Our area is quite without the traffic near the tourist areas. Everything is very close and it is only a mile to the beach!

What makes this property unique

We love the way the apartment is tucked in under the main house. We have a nice sized front yard that is great for cornhole, etc. The outdoor shower is unique and maybe not for everyone but provides a great shower experience without being closed in a bathroom. The shower is enclosed so there is total privacy.
