About this property

Cozy Log Cabin in Private Community

Welcome to Almost Perfect!

Almost Perfect is just 5 miles from Blowing Rock in a private log cabin community. The 1.5-acre wooded property borders Price Park and is lush with rhododendrons. Laurel Creek runs through it, and there are many accessible trails to explore. The Blue Ridge Parkway is minutes from the cabin, and the Linn Cove Viaduct and Grandfather Mountain State Park are nearby. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, and Appalachian State University are each about 30 minutes away. Almost Perfect is a prime destination to make your home base while exploring the High Country. There is so much to do nearby! Hiking, skiing, shopping in Blowing Rock, dining at the many fine restaurants, canoeing or kayaking, or the kids simply enjoying the property and Laurel Creek. Expansive mountain views are within an easy drive, but your Almost Perfect Cabin is a place to come home and enjoy the peace and quiet of the woods.

Inside, you will find almost everything you would need for that perfect retreat. The main floor living room boasts vaulted exposed beam ceilings, wood floors, and leather furniture around a stacked stone gas log fireplace and a large Roku TV. The living room opens to a cozy reading nook and dining room. The spacious modern kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. Downstairs is a separate TV viewing area with a large Roku TV and two oversized comfortable armchairs that each convert into a twin bed. The lower-level bunk room includes a Pac-Man arcade game. There are 3 king bedrooms with Roku TVs and in-room bathroom access. The remodeled bathrooms have a spa-like atmosphere. The cabin now offers high-speed internet and a phone for those who need to work while in the mountains, too! Please note that cell reception is not reliable in this area.

Outside, you will find a covered outdoor kitchen with a Weber gas grill for those steaks or BBQ dinners. There is also a fire pit and lounging area where the whole family can gather to enjoy S'mores. A large hot tub on the deck, a sky full of brilliant stars above, a screened porch, and a large deck overlooking the gently babbling creek complete the experience at Almost Perfect.

Almost Perfect Cabin is reached over completely paved and mostly level roads with a wide gravel driveway, making it convenient year-round. 4WD or AWD and tire chains for icy weather are highly encouraged during winter.

Weekend getaway

Great cabin, very cozy, private, great outdoor areas to enjoy, some sheltered. Nice meandering stream right up next to cabin. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Great cabin.

Loved the cabin. Well appointed. If I had to critique, I would say it needs better and stronger lighting inside. Mainly in the living area. But really fun experience and beautiful surroundings

The cabin was lovely, beautiful grounds with a path that leads out to a quaint bridge over the creek. The inside is cozy with plenty of seating. we did not care for the seating on the porch as it is very low and hard to get out of if you are a senior. The only complaint is the master bedroom mattress is very uncomfortable, could use a new one. Otherwise we had a lovely time.

Unacceptable

When we arrived there was a loud noise right at the front porch entry. Turns out is was some kind of motor or pump under the cabin. This was not disclosed to us during the rental process and the cause unable to be determined before we left the property. Needless to say it certainly made our stay at this lovely property less than desirable since the noise was 24/7. Hopefully the problem has been corrected for future renters.
