The stay was fantastic. The drive to get to the house is very remote or primitive so take the note of 4x4 or AWD to heart when booking.

Very nice, secluded property. The terrain was definitely steep but no trouble with 4 wheel drive. Caught some fish, relaxed by the fire, had a great time, the kids really enjoyed the woods and things to do around the area. Thank you for allowing us the stay in your house.

Great location, as long as you follow the directions about needing an AWD vehicle. Great house, very comfortable and well appointed. Great communication and interaction with the hosts. Fully recommend this house if looking for someplace in Hocking Hills!

They’re not joking about needing 4WD! If you get carsick the roads leading up to the area are quite bumpy so I would prepare for that however you would need. Only thing to improve that I can think of is that it was very rainy while we were there and I couldn’t find something to cover the firepit just in case things dried up. That could also be my lack of ability to find things.

We had a wonderful friend’s weekend. The Chestnut was beautiful. We had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. The check in was easy. The house was clean. All of the appliances worked and there were plenty of dishes. We all just loved our time together.

As noted multiple times in the listing and through reminder communications to guests, an All Wheel Drive(AWD) or Four Wheel Drive(4x4/4WD) is REQUIRED in all seasons and weather conditions. While not imposing the driveway is gravel and has a pitch in the middle requiring extra traction. We access the property in A Subaru WRX, Subaru Legacy, Chevy Equinox, Ford Fusion(AWD) and Volvo XC40. Photos of the drive are available on our listing page as is a video for guests to view of a vehicle entering and exiting the property. We are available 24/7 to answer any questions around the property, its amenities and surrounding area!
