About this property
Coastguards Cottage, Sea Views, Coast Path Location & 3 Minutes to the Beach
Offering some of the most spectacular views in Gorran Haven, this historic Coastguard Cottage sits just three minutes’ walk from the sandy beach and village centre. With two king‑size bedrooms (or one king and two small singles), private parking and direct access to the South West Coast Path, it’s the perfect base for families, couples and walkers.
Set in the heart of this 13th‑century fishing village, the cottage overlooks a cluster of traditional fishermen’s homes, a safe golden‑sand beach and the historic quay — famous for its high‑tide quay jumping. Within a short stroll you’ll find a friendly village shop, a tented al fresco bar, fish and chips, a hotel bar and a beachside café.
Both of Gorran Haven’s beaches are dog‑friendly and among the safest in Cornwall. The bustling harbour town of Mevagissey is just 11 minutes’ drive away for shops, restaurants and local ales.
Inside the Cottage
Ground Floor A light‑filled open‑plan living and kitchen space features two large sash windows framing the coastline. The sitting area has a log burner for cosy evenings, while the well‑equipped kitchen includes a Stoves range cooker and dining space for six.
Just off the kitchen is a wet room and cloakroom — ideal for rinsing off sandy feet after a day on the beach.
First Floor
Bedroom 3 (walk‑through room): A single cabin bed suitable for a child, plus a small workspace. This room also works well for a travel cot.
Bedroom 1 (master): Accessed through the walk‑through room. King‑size bed, TV, large wardrobe and stunning sea views.
Bedroom 2: A small, peaceful room overlooking the garden. Can be arranged as a king‑size bed or two small singles (2ft 6”). Includes a blackout blind and small wardrobe.
Bathroom: Freestanding bath and coastal styling.
