My husband and I enjoyed this place very much. It was very clean and Jack was a wonderful host. It was so nice to have our coffee in the morning looking out at the harbor and watching the boats. It isn't very big, but it had all we needed for just the two of us. It was very peaceful there and away from the hussle and bussle of Bay Harbor but definitely close enough to go there during the day easily. We brought our small dog and she loved being down by the shore right out the cottage and checking out all the smells of the shells and rocks.
The cottage was cozy and adorable, with an incredible view of the harbor from sunrise to sunset. The location was convenient to great lobster, incredible hikes, and the adorable town of Southwest Harbor. Jack was a super helpful and thoughtful host.
The cottage, with outstanding ocean views from the deck, was a perfect setting for our week-long getaway. Quaint accommodations, perfectly clean and well kept, was lovely. Great home-base for day trips to Acadia and paddling around the harbor. Good restaurants all close by.
The cottage is in a great location, right on the water and close to anything you would like to do at Acadia. Cottage was a great size for a week stay with all the amenities you could need. Jack was a great and communicative host, we would stay again! 20/10
We loved our stay here. The house, while small, was perfect for just the two of us. It was nice to not be in the heart of Bar Harbor and it was a quiet area to return to after hiking, etc in Acadia. We loved it!
The cabin is small, but perfectly appointed- everything you’d need or want, with some really thoughtful touches. It’s right on the harbor, so all harbor and water views, including from the bed in the loft! Quiet, with a lobster pound (restaurant) within walking distance. Host is extremely helpful!
The accommodations matched exactly what we were looking for. The neighborhood and active harbor brought so much ambience to our cottage stay. Our host was outstanding. Thank you.
Charming cottage with beautiful views of the harbor! Great spot to sit on the deck just watching the morning boat traffic with coffee in hand. Cottage was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. 100% would stay here again!
Wonderful location on Bass Harbor! We enjoyed the beautiful view of the harbor, watching the birds and sitting on the deck. Our favorite lobster place was a short walk away.
The cottage was very clean and comfortable and had a nice kitchen. I enjoyed sleeping with the windows in the bedroom open for the cool breeze.
We had a wonderful stay and hope to go back again.

Amy, thanks so much for the wonderful review. Our Up Harbor crew are happy you had such a great stay at the Cottage. Thanks for leaving the place so spiffy clean.
Please come back and visit anytime!
Nice place , just off the beaten path but close to Acadia Park. Clean, comfortable and thoughtfully designed and supplied with all basic needs. Full kitchen with dishes and amenities. Small shower. Great view and location on a working harbor. Owner was very discreet yet available and knowledgeable of local conditions. Would definitely recommend.
We loved this cottage on the water. Great views of the harbor, even in the rain. Cottage was very well stocked and maintained. Jack always available to answer questions. Perfect for 2 people and a dog! And we appreciated being on the quiet side of MDI, yet a short walk from a great lobster place.
We had a great stay over the 4th of July. Every morning we enjoyed coffee on the deck, watching the boats go in and out of the harbor and listening to the birds. The cottage was simply decorated and had a well stocked kitchen and very comfortable bed. We were able to walk the a secluded rocky beach with our beagle and were a short drive from the cute village of southwest harbor. Excellent jumping off point for visiting Acadia and a lovely place to just be. Would recommend!
This was one of the best VRBOs we’ve stayed at in awhile. Pictures do not do this justice - You feel a sense of peace when you walk in. The cottage had a perfect location on the harbor, was very quiet, and everything was well stocked and clean. Jack was very responsive and helpful. The bonus was kayaks to use at the house, which we did frequently. It was an easy 10 minute drive into Southwest Harbor and we split our hikes between there and Northeast Harbor, only 15 more minutes. We’ll definitely come again!
The location cannot be beaten in my mind. Wonderful views of the harbour. Just sitting on the deck watching the sunrise and the boats moving about was magical. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Every need has been anticipated by the owners and all the equipment and materials you could ever want are there. Jack was very welcoming and friendly. If you want a perfect, peaceful getaway look no further. We will be back.

We love great guests!
Stay up,

My husband and I were thrilled when we turned up at this absolutely charming cottage right on the water last Sunday for our week-long vacation. This property hasn’t been on the market long and the photos on the site haven’t been updated to reflect just how lovely and private this place feels even though it’s on a working harbor right next to a boathouse. It’s so quiet here you can hear the quiet: nothing but the sounds of water, gulls, and a few boats coming in and out. You really do feel like you’ve gotten away from it all. And Jack, our contact at the cottage, was terrific. He gave us a warm Maine welcome and plenty of fun anecdotes about the area. The cottage is tiny but it has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Our 16-year-old dog felt right at home, too. We will definitely be back! 10/10
