The “Solaris” guest house is a high-tech concrete geodesic dome, part of a two-dome structure. The hosts/owners live in the main dome and offer a private front dome for vacation rental with private entry and parking for up to two vehicles. The downstairs includes a modern living room with a 65-inch TV, Bluetooth stereo, and an electric fireplace. A dining room with seating for up to six and a fully equipped kitchenette with a microwave, 2-burner electric induction stove, large sink, coffee maker, toaster, and a full-size refrigerator.
It can sleep up to six guests on three queen beds (two bedrooms upstairs with one queen each and one queen sofa bed downstairs). Each room has a dresser, office desk, chair, lamp, nightstand with lamp and phone charging station, luggage rack, wall TV, and a small hanging closet.
Located in the heart of Bonita Springs, less than ten minutes from shopping, movie theaters, and beaches.Close to FGCU and RSW (fort Myers airport).

This VRBO is immaculate! A very unique place to stay and very comfortable! Captain Bob was amazing and very quick to respond with an answer when we had a question. Was a great place to stay and close to FGCU while my younger son and I were visiting my oldest for family weekend! The area of VRBO was a little dark in the neighborhood, but absolutely extremely safe! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was such a unique home and Captain Bob’s story is incredible!

Host was easy to reach, communication was great. The home was very cool looking and very clean. Bathroom was spacious and all beds were comfortable. The neighborhood is extremely quiet at all times. We were there for a girls flag football tournement but other than that, not a whole lot to do other than shopping in town. It was perfect for our stay though :) We did ride down to Naples to visit Tin City and 5th Ave shops which is a beautiful area and Pinchers restaurant had amazing fresh seafood! A huge Bass Pro shop is about a 25 min drive from the house and worth visiting, it's HUGE! Thank you for our wonderful stay at your property, it was definitely a unique one of kind experience!

Captain Bob was very attentive during our stay. Communicated and helped out with any concerns. This was very close to our family so worked perfectly. Would use this location again! Felt safe on property as well.

This place was perfect for a Girls Getaway! There were 4 of us - one local so we had an auto and the others flew. Everything we wanted to do was within a half hour or less - lots of options for fun! The Dome Home was a great experience and Captain Bob was right there if we needed anything. A wonderful experience and so thankful for the great stay! Would definitely stay again!

Interesting Biulding and Very Pleasant Place to Stay

Our host, Capt. Bob provided excellent directions to arri e at the Solaris Guest Dome and information on how the appliances, lights, and utilities worked. He was very responsive to email questions, and is a most engaging host when we met him. We hope that we might come back to stay here on another trip to Bonita Springs.

Captain Bob was a warm and welcoming host. The location was very convenient to beaches and shopping centers. The dining area and living room were spacious and comfortable. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, which we appreciated as we stayed over the New Year holiday.

I am a retired Maritime Sea Captain turned writer, who has lived in South Florida for most of my life.
My wife and I are traveling and trying to make the best of our "quality time remaining" and are offering our "Dome guest house" to help pay for it. We try to make our guests as welcome as we like to be, as we enjoy other people's vacation rentals.

Why they chose this property

We live in a perfect place! Right in the middle of several sprouting cities. To our North, we have Estero, Ft. Myers, and Cape Coral. To our South, beautiful Naples. Our community of "El Dorado Acres" is a quiet retreat set amidst several affluent communities near the end of "Coconut Road", a coconut tree-lined approach terminating at the Hyatt Regency hotel.
We are close to several beaches, golf courses, spas, and shopping.

If you choose to visit with us, you will be staying in a state-of-the-art"Geodesic Dome"
designed and built by me to withstand Florida's hurricanes. Its spherical shape and concrete construction are designed to stand strong in the face of category 5 hurricanes.
The two-dome complex's modern design, super insulation, and ventilation system make it a comfortable stay any time of the year.
