There are two small islands to visit for a picnic or a swim, a colony of seals to watch (please try to respect their space and stay back 150 feet) and if your lucky Bald Eagles and Opreys nesting and hunting in the area. Wildlife abounds with eagles, osprey, terns, loons, cormorants and the occasional porpoise over the water and rabbits, deer and once in awhile porcupine or fox visit the property. This side of Mount Desert is often sunny when other parts are fog bound. The water is warmer here and more calm. Perfect for Kayaks and canoes.

What makes this property unique

The Studio is quiet and peaceful, the views are incredible, the building is up-to-date; and is a kyacker / canoeor’s paradise. Seals abound (please respect their privacy and stay 150 feet away from their basking rocks). Eagles, Osprey, Terns, Loons, and Cormorants fish in the area and the occasional pod of porpoise swim by. The views include Blue Hill, Black Island and Oak Point. This side of Mount Desert is often sunny when other areas are fog bound, and the water is warmer. It’s a peaceful getaway 15-20 minutes from the hectic tourist frenzy of Bar Harbor in the summer time. Well behaved flea treated dog welcome.
