Casual and comfortable, lots of space awaits in the Rockmont Beach House. The home offers easy walking distance to everything that York has to offer. Known as The Rockmont, this historic beach home got an entirely new look and feel in 2015. While maintaining some of its classic charm and feel, all of the latest amenities were added to ensure your stay will be a great one. This home is 4 stories high, with a unique roof deck, known to be one of the highest points in York. When not at the beach, enjoy the nearly 1,000 square foot Great Room/Porch that offers lounge space to relax, a 12' farm table for dining, additional table seating, a breakfast bar and comfy rockers. Everyone can relax at the end of the day and enjoy this excellent space with views of the ocean. Above the porch there's a large deck, a private balcony, and the top floor roof deck... plenty of spaces to sit back and relax. The property also accommodates parking spaces for 6 cars on site! There's also an outdoor shower with warm water to wash off after a day at the beach.

Everything inside is updated including the three full bathrooms, and a beautiful kitchen with a new 8' pass-through window from the kitchen to the porch. New stainless steel appliances, many new furnishings, amenities, and more.

Along with the many new features, technology was added to the home as well. It boasts all new heating and air conditioning throughout the home. For entertainment, we have 2 flat screen TV's, DVD players, and whole house speakers with sound on the various roof decks.

Enjoy a prime location, in a classic beach house. There's plenty of room for everyone to enjoy. It's a unique space and is sure to fit the needs of larger groups needing the space, but wanting the comfort and convenience of a great York Beach location.

This home boasts a very flexible floor plan with equally flexible rental options. Rent the core house, which can sleep up to 19 people in 7 bedrooms, or ask about expanding your space to include the attached "Salty Spot at Rockmont" with additional 2 bedrooms a full kitchen, full bathroom, laundry, and a pull out sofa.
It's very versatile. Despite what the calendar may show, we rent 7 night minimums from mid June through August.

We had such a wonderful time at Rockmont. The house is amazing - perfect for a big group. Amazing views and decks, short walk to the beach. The owners were very responsive and made sure our stay was perfect. I’d love to rent this house again in the future!

Girls weekend!

This house is amazing and was a perfect fit for our large group! The location is great and easy walk to Short Sands beach and Long Sands! The decks are beautiful and large enough for everyone to enjoy. We loved the large 3 season room for socializing and playing Bunco!

Beautiful place

Stunning views

We had an incredible week at The Rockmont with our family. The home is impeccably clean and has everything you need for a great week by the beach with a large group. But the enormous living space and multiple decks steal the show. Lots of room for everyone to be comfortable and eat together plus a great deck if you don’t feel like a 5 min walk to the beach and the views from the widows walk can’t be beat, especially for fireworks!

Wonderful property, helpful host

The Rockmont was just the right size for us. We had 12 people, including 2 small children and an infant. There was plenty of space, including the great room where we all gathered in the evenings. There were puzzles and games for the kids (and adults). The kitchen was well equipped, everything we needed. Easy walking distance to the beach & playground (and Funarama!).And let's not forget tremendous views from the decks!

80th birthday party celebration

We were very impressed by the property and its convenience to shops, beach and a fantastic playground. We had four generations of relatives and everyone had a wonderful time. The main room was big enough for everyone to gather and and there were several porches and dens for people to take a break or have a more private conversation. The décor was very tasteful.

The Rockmont is the IDEAL place!!!

Sixteen of us stayed at the Rockmont with 3 friends staying at the Salty Spot. George was kind enough to open up the passage between the two units for ease in going back and forth. This home was WELL EQUIPPED and SO special! One of the BEST experiences we've had and we've been vacationing in Maine yearly since 1999. Highly recommend this home as well as the hosts!!!

Family Week

My family had a great time and the house excided our expectations. We rented both the main house and the annex apt for 10 adults and 6 kids from teens to toddlers and everyone had space to them selves. The great rooms was perfect for our entire crowd to hangout in the evenings and on the days when it was too chilly for the beach. The kitchens were fully equipped with everything we needed to cook dinners for our crew. We all highly recommend this house and would love to stay again on our next visit to Maine.

Amazing Weekend

This property is exquisite! We had family in age from 85 to 17 and we all had a blast. This home had so much space and the attention to details that the owners George and Jeanne put in did not go unnoticed. Their home had everything we needed and more. The decks are spectacular. It is rare to see sunrise and sunset from the same spot. All of us were incredibly impressed. By far one of our best vacations!!!

Incredibly beautiful and comfortable!

There were 13 of us, ages 12 to 80, suitable for all. So much to say about what a wonderful time we had and how impressed everyone was with all the detail of the property. The big surprise was how well stocked the kitchen was with all manner of baking and cooking utensils. No need to drag all that with you from home. Jeanne and George were the ultimate hosts. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Our family group of 16 (8 adults, 8 children) recently stayed at the Rockmont and could not have been more impressed with this beautiful home. It was spacious enough for a large group...we never felt like we were on top of each other or crowded in any way. Every room in the home is gorgeous and comfortable, while the many decks provided amazing spaces to gather, relax and view surises and sunsets. The owners are kind and responsive, and have clearly thought of every small detail to ensure their guests have relaxing, comfortable vacations in their stunning home. Can't say enough about this gem of a rental and truly can't wait to go back!

Amazing House

The pictures don't do this house justice for how beautiful and spacious it is. There is plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably and an awesome great room with couches/tables to hang out in. The views are GORGEOUS!!!! Every window has a nice view. The main deck is large and has a beautiful view but the roof-top deck is breathtaking. It is a short walk down to the beach and restaurants which makes it perfect and convenient to go out and enjoy downtown. The owner was great to work with and very responsive. I highly recommend this house!!

Great experience for everyone

This was a wonderful rental experience. The house was large enough for everyone, very clean, well organized and had an amazing view. The multiple roof decks were great for our larger group to break out into smaller groups and chat. The house was within walking distance to the beach, shopping and the lighthouse. The decor was beautiful but not ideal for younger families. Also lots of stairs. I highly recommend this for groups or families with older. If I was planning another trip to York this would be a top option on my if we needed lots of beds.

Amazing house and perfect for large group

My husband and I were getting married in York and wanted a house big enough for our us, parents, siblings, and their children to all stay together. This property was perfect! The multiple bedrooms with a variety of sleeping arrangements was perfect for families and couples. The house came with everything you needed in terms of the kitchen, entertainment , etc. The location was perfect with beach access steps away and a quick walk to downtown York! Unlike many other houses we looked at in York this home had ample parking. It was a busy weekend for us and the owner was more than accommodating about check-in and check out times. The views from the upper deck and widow's walk were amazing! I'd absolutely recommend renting this house for a large group! We hope to be back.

Gorgeous home for a relaxing beach escape!

Together with my brother, our families brought our parents to their favorite escape, York, Maine to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Family is most special and important to our parents and our stay at the Rockmont brought our family together in a very special way that touched our parents hearts. George and Jeanne's place is very special, beautiful from top to bottom, and had our mom feeling like she was in a perfect dream beach get away. Each room reflects the peacefulness of the beach, ocean and honors the charming character of the home. The ease of a short walking distance to Short Sands beach and Nubble Light House were some additional benefits that our family took advantage of. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay that we are looking forward to more get aways at the Rockmont! Thank you George and Jeanne for making our stay so special and you have built a beautiful home! Bachelor Weekend

George’s house was the most perfect setting for my bachelor weekend with 10 guys from all across the country who had never been to Maine. Walking to amazing seafood, beach life, Ice cream and more. The house was HUGE and very well appointed with great new everything. The decks and views were to die for. All communication was good, and we had no issues. Will definitely be back with the family!

Two Families in Maine

George’s home, The Rockmont, is a truly beautiful property and was the perfect fit for our visit. We had 13 adults from two different families staying the week. It was ideal that all of our different couples could each have their own rooms and that there was a big beautiful three season porch area that we could also all fit into to hang out together. Everything was clean and well labeled and the location close to Short Sands beach was perfect! We also loved all the outdoor spaces. George was easy to communicate with and very helpful when it came to the property and any questions we had. We are already thinking of coming back next year and would highly recommend The Rockmont for your next stay in York!

Large family vacation

Absolutely beautiful and spacious vacation spot. York is a gem of a town and the house is great for large gatherings. 11 adults and 4 kids under three stayed. Still had one bedroom and multiple couches and day beds to spare. The house was incredibly clean and well equipped for all of our needs. The owners were very responsive and respectful! Hope to be back again soon. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Incredible rental - immaculate - great communication

George and Jeanne are proud of their house and they should be. It's perfect for big groups - there are a variety of areas so that everyone's space isn't interfering with everyone else's space. For example, a group of teens could easily find a place to do their thing while other groups do theirs. But for big gatherings, there are two excellent locations. The place was immaculate - can't say enough about it. Don't even hesitate to use this rental.
