About this property

Comfortable Home On 3 Private Wooded Acres In The Heart Of Mount Desert Island

We built our home in 2004, cut from over 3 acres of woods in the heart of Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. It sits 1 mile north of Somes Sound, and is within easy reach of hiking, biking, carriage roads, boat tours, and all of the shopping and restaurants to be found in the several quaint towns on the island.

We created our space to gather and connect with family and friends, and hope that you enjoy it, too.

Our home sleeps eight easily. The master bedroom has a king bed and is located on the main floor. Two bedrooms and a full bathroom are on the 2nd floor. The kitchen is fully-appointed to help you create memorable meals; dine inside on our farmhouse table, or eat on the deck. We also maintain a lovely kitchen garden, and welcome guests to pick what they need to round out their meals - it would be a shame for fresh produce to go to waste! After a busy day of adventuring in the park, relax in the deep jacuzzi master tub, or sit by the Solo Stove fire pit and cook S'mores.
We have Free WiFi high-speed internet with Smart TVs located on the main floor and another in the basement room

Wonderful stay! Enjoyed the inside and outside of this lovely home. Badminton on the lawn, lunch on the deck, puzzles, games, books, wii in a homey, house in the woods. Even the driveway, amongst the fall foliage, was picturesque. Kitchen, laundry and bedrooms perfect for a long, family stay.

This property’s pictures do not quite capture the amazing setting provided. The combination of hot tub and fire pit were perfect for a Fall visit. The hot tub is set in its own wooded oasis yet right by the house… truly peaceful! Owners were ultra-responsive and a pleasure to interact with. This spot and offering could not have been better!

This property is excellent! One of the nicest places I have stayed. Beautiful house, well taken care of, very clean, well stocked. Linens, bedding, kitchen fully stocked.And the owner Kirk was so nice. We had a light out by the porch and he fixed it immediately. He helped us with the dishwasher. And he was very friendly and helpful.He even suggested a route we could drive and it was so scenic. We got some great pictures. You won’t want to leave!

Everything about this home was great. Very clean upon check-in, check-in instructions were clear. Plenty of room for you family. All appliances worked well. Strong WiFi. A Peaceful and Private Oasis

My daughter and I visited Maine for the first time and stayed at Fern Haven. All the charming touches made us feel right at home. It was wonderful to come back after a long day of exploring and relax in the hot tub. The location is perfect as Acadia National State Park and Bar Harbor are minutes away. So many fun shops and restaurants nearby. The house is filled with books, games, puzzles etc which are perfect for a rainy day.
