About this property
180° Ocean View, see wildlife from the Lanai
OCEANFRONT, RIGHT ON THE WATER, spacious 2-bed, 2-bath condo on the 2nd floor just south of Kailua-Kona town. With breathtaking 180-degree Kona coastline and ocean views, watch humpback whales, spinner dolphins, yellow tangs and boats from the waterfront lanai as you sip your morning coffee. Enjoy a beautiful sunset after a day of exploring the island or hanging by the oceanfront pool and hot tub. Conveniently located near downtown restaurants and shops, great snorkeling spots, Honl's beach (surf), Magic Sands beach, and many popular island activities.
Located in one of Kailua Kona's most sought after complexes right on Ali'i Drive, enjoy the ocean breezes and watching sea life right from your lanai, or take a dip in the ocean (jump in off the rocks out front) and then the heated pool and hot tub.
Inside the condo you’ll find an open floor plan bathed in natural light. This condo is the largest of the complex's 2-bedroom floor plans at almost 1000 square feet. Guests will enjoy the roomy and open kitchen/dining/living area with ocean views, but especially love watching dolphins, turtles and other sea creatures just off the lanai.
We've ensured the unit is equipped with everything you need to enjoy a wonderful vacation in paradise, including wifi, a well-stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, new 55-inch TV, and beach gear. This condo is on the 2nd floor, one flight of stairs up (no elevator).
Bedrooms/Bathrooms:
The primary bedroom has a King bed and an ensuite bathroom with a tub. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the guest bath with walk-in shower. Both bedrooms have ample closets and dressers for storage and are cooled by AC (master bedroom) and/or the ocean breezes and fans (2nd bedroom).
Grounds:
The grounds of the complex are lush and well-maintained. The beautiful heated pool and hot tub are centrally located and oceanside. Just behind the pool is a large common area with BBQ's area for grilling. There is also a popular, privately-owned coffee, sandwich and smoothie shop on the property.
Air Conditioning:
There was no air conditioning built into the complex, however there is AC in the master bedroom only. There are ceiling fans in every room and the ocean breezes usually help to keep the unit cool and comfortable. In addition, the mauka (mountainside) breeze typically develops after sunset and helps cool the bedrooms if the windows are open. We may need to charge an extra fee to cover Hawaii's exorbitant electricity costs.
Cancellations and Travel Insurance:
We strongly recommend obtaining travel insurance. We cannot personally take on the role of additional travel insurance if you need to cancel outside of the published refundable cancellation period. If you would like coverage for non-covered reasons such as health or family emergencies, work responsibilities, volcanic eruptions that don't threaten the condo, flight cancellations, worries about air quality, etc., please purchase the appropriate additional coverage.
Don't be alarmed!
There is a monthly practice tsunami warning alarm, typically on the first business day of every month at 11:45 a.m.
What's that sound?
Our complex was built without air conditioning. As a consequence, it is an open windows community. The ocean waves are audible throughout the unit, but less so in the bedrooms. Most find the sound soothing, but if your guests staying in the 2nd bedroom need complete silence when sleeping, this may not be the unit for you. You may also hear the occasional coqui frog after dark. This is an invasive species that is actively exterminated so it is not very common. Additionally, the living portion of the unit faces the ocean to maximize enjoyment of the view, which means the bedrooms are on the same side of the building as the parking. Everyone's windows are often open, so we encourage guests to be quiet when coming and going and even when talking or taking calls in the bedrooms during quiet hours. You will, inevitably, hear some guests move their luggage down the stairs or talk a bit too loudly on their way in/out. We hope the pleasant sounds outweigh the others. Luckily, road noise is not a problem.
Construction:
Construction at the complex or areas surrounding the condo is beyond our control. We do not offer refunds, relocations, or discounts for construction. If there is excessive noise beyond normal working hours (typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), we will attempt to contact the construction site manager regarding working hours.
