Location of property to the Big House was perfect. The road to the house definitely needs some grating as there were plenty of potholes to drive though. The house was clean, but the beds were very uncomfortable. Both my husband and I woke up with backaches in the morning. It would be nice to have a hairdryer at the property for guests. The house could use some updating, overall it was a good place to stay for the weekend.

Not what we expected
Inside of house was clean. Owners were kind enough to allow us to check in early and provided us with board games, and communication was very good. Walking distance to the big house, which was nice. The exterior of the house is in very poor shape, and it is difficult to see this on the listing. It is a dirt road that leads to the house, with tons of potholes. There is a large, white gazebo that is in pieces in the front lawn. Had I seen a close-up photo of the front of the house I would not have stayed here. Really uncomfortable beds, and the bed that my son slept in caved in both nights, literally fell to the ground. Paintings were hung sideways, and there was a mirror on the floor in the bedroom, so you could only see the lower portion of yourself. Very poor lighting. We had a tough time getting hot water in the main floor shower. We stayed here during graduation weekend, so we know that prices were inflated everywhere, but this was really not worth what we paid. After our departure, I reached out to the owners to give them feedback. They offered us a free weekend in the future, but honestly, I do not want to stay here again, even if it is free.
Loved the location - we could quickly get to campus (drive or walk 1 mile), and easily walk to excellent nearby grocery store and bakery. Easy access to bedrooms for my elderly parents and large common areas for everyone to hang out. House was clean and comfortable, and appreciate the tea/coffee for us. Host was very responsive.
