The Space:

Cold mountain air settles as dusk drapes the wooded hillside, and the sky ignites with a blanket of stars. Steam curls from the private hot tub while the forest whispers around you, offering a quiet soundtrack to the evening. Inside the glamping dome, soft lighting and expansive windows frame the landscape, creating a calm retreat that feels both open and intimate. You can unwind here without giving up the comforts of home.

Sleeping arrangements

The dome sleeps two guests in a king bed set within an open, single‑level layout. The space is designed for easy access with no stairs and a private entrance.

Bathroom

A full indoor bathroom provides a warm place to refresh after outdoor adventures, complete with standard fixtures.

Kitchen & dining

A compact kitchen and dining area let you prepare simple meals, from a quiet breakfast to a warm dinner. Essentials are provided for cooking and cleaning, and a small table offers a place to enjoy your food.

Entertainment & connectivity

A flat‑screen TV and Bluetooth sound system give you options for music or movies, while Wi‑Fi is available for streaming or staying connected, though speeds may vary in this remote setting.

Outdoor living

Step onto the patio and deck to take in mountain views. A fire pit and BBQ grill invite you to cook and gather outside, and the private hot tub offers a soothing soak under the night sky. Seating areas let you linger while the crisp air settles.

Setting & surroundings

The dome sits on a wooded mountainside within the Cooper Mountain private retreat. Two other domes are nearby, offering a sense of community while each unit retains its own outdoor space for privacy. A nature preserve borders the property, providing trails and quiet spots to explore.

Good to know

Because the dome is not sealed like a traditional home, occasional insects may drift inside, especially in early spring and summer. Leaves, pollen or natural debris may appear on decks and walkways despite regular cleaning. Wi‑Fi can be spotty at times, so consider downloading needed content beforehand.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

Why they chose this property

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Stargazer in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
