About this property
Glamping dome w/hot tub & fire pit
Summary:
Relax in a mountain dome where quiet nights, star‑filled skies and a private hot tub meet modern comforts. Wake to crisp air, step onto the patio, and unwind by the fire pit after a day of trail exploring.
- Sleeps 2 | 1 bedroom | 1 bed | 1 bath
- Private hot tub under starry skies
- King bed w/ climate control & mountain views
- Full kitchen & bathroom for easy meals
- Patio, fire pit & BBQ grill for outdoor fun
- Wifi, TV & Bluetooth sound system
The Space:
Cold mountain air settles as dusk falls, and the sky above the wooded hillside glows with stars. Steam rises gently from the private hot tub while the forest wraps around you, broken only by the soft sounds of nature. Inside the dome, warm light and expansive views create a calm retreat from the world.
Sleeping arrangements
The open, single‑level dome centers on a king bed, offering a comfortable place to rest after a day outdoors. The space sleeps two guests and includes a full bathroom for easy refreshes without leaving the warmth of the dome.
Kitchen & dining
A compact kitchen and dining area let you prepare simple meals, from a quiet breakfast to a warm dinner as temperatures drop. Everything you need for basic cooking is within reach, and the layout keeps everything on one level with no stairs.
Entertainment & connectivity
Unwind with the flat‑screen TV or play music through the Bluetooth sound system. Wifi is provided for streaming or staying connected, though speeds may vary in this remote setting—perfect for a balance of disconnecting and reconnecting.
Outdoor living
Step onto the private patio to take in mountain views and crisp air. A fire pit and BBQ grill invite you to enjoy evenings outdoors, even in cooler weather with the right layers. The hot tub, located on the deck, offers a soothing soak under clear, star‑filled skies.
Setting & surroundings
The dome sits on a wooded mountainside within the Cooper Mountain private retreat. Two other domes are nearby—one about 60 feet away and another farther off—so you may see other guests, but each dome maintains its own outdoor spaces for privacy. A nearby nature preserve provides trails for exploring the landscape.
Good to know
Because the dome is not sealed like a traditional home, occasional insects may drift inside, especially in early spring and summer. Outdoor areas are regularly swept, though leaves, pollen, or natural debris may still be present.
Perfect for
Travelers seeking a peaceful escape, cozy winter evenings, and a close connection to the surrounding landscape without sacrificing comfort.

About the host
Hosted by Tony Cappaert
I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Stargazer in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
