We do not book stays of less than five nights more than 15 days in advance. We are currently booking through August 2025. Minimum stay requirement: two nights.
This one bedroom, one bath apartment is approximately 550 square feet in size and features a second "mini-room" with a built-in twin bed (167" long x 37" wide with built-in twin bed). Wonderfully light and open, it is located just five homes in from South Bayfront and Newport Harbor, and just one block to the island's shops and restaurants. Sophisticated but cozy décor with slip-covered sofa and chairs, natural wood pieces and pretty artwork. Located behind the main house, it has no common, living-space walls with the front house. Upgrades include: beautiful Caeserstone countertops in kitchen and bathroom; all new bathroom with white-tiled shower; outdoor deck with patio furniture and umbrella; private washer and dryer; one queen bed, one twin bed; den with open beamed ceiling. Full kitchen with dishwasher, newer gas range, refrigerator, all small appliances and cookware. Freshly painted white walls; new hardwood laminate floors in bedroom and mini-room; tile everywhere else.
A perfect getaway for a few nights or a week, or for interim housing.
Dear Guests - because of the patio's close proximity with the front house's master bedroom windows, we ask that you not play music or have late-night conversation on the patio.
A few things to note:
- Once you've booked the apartment, we will ask you to send us a copy of each adult's driver's license who will be staying at the property and for you to sign our Short-term Lodging Agreement. These are requirements by the city of Newport Beach.
- For stays longer than one week, we may require a completed rental application and reserve the right to run credit.
- During the summer, we prefer to rent for a minimum of five nights.
- On-site parking is not available. Street parking only.
Supplies Provided: three rolls of toilet paper, one roll of paper towels, beach towels, all lines and bath towels. Basic condiments in kitchen.

My stay at this cottage was the perfect weekend getaway. From the moment I booked, the host was incredibly communicative and welcoming. The location couldn't be better—tucked away just off the main street, making it easy to explore the island on foot. The cottage itself is a dream; I especially loved the private outdoor deck for my morning coffee and the fully equipped kitchen. It felt like a true home away from home. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a charming, relaxing stay on Balboa Island!
My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It was close to downtown, very clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen and plenty of space to relax. We would absolutely stay here again.

This was my second stay here . It’s perfect for me. Clean and comfortable. Restaurants and a market start a block away from the apartment . It’s parking on the street but never had a problem finding a space.
This is a wonderful apartment to stay in. It is well maintained and very clean. The outside patio is wonderful in the evenings! The location is ideal. Very close to Marine Ave. where there is great food and shopping.I highly recommend.

Nice apartment..perfect for 2 plus a little one…second floor walk up so not good for anyone with mobility concerns - apartment patio deck is right next to master of the front house…so we had to really be quiet when talking out there…kitchen very well equipped…perfect location on the island….overall great stay! Would stay again…
Just a great location to walk from, visit nearby city highlights, rent an electric boat, or relax on the patio. The high ceilings and coffee ready to go were appreciated. Owner is great to work with. We can’t wait to get back again!
