About this property
3-bedroom pool house on manatee-filled canal. BYOB: Bring your own boat
Discover the beauty of Saint James City from this modern, updated 3-bedroom house in the Manatee Bay subdivision. Inside you'll find tile floors throughout the three bedrooms, two bathrooms, large living room, and a formal dining room. The hub of activity is a recently renovated kitchen with all new appliances, tons of storage, an eating area, and a wall of doors that open to the lanai.
Once outside, you'll find more seating which faces the heated pool and canal. You can put your boat in via the private boat ramp when you arrive and use the covered dock and lift to keep your boat secure during your stay. If you don't have a boat, abundant fish can be caught or observed from the yard and dock. Catch a keeper? Use the dockside cleaning station to prepare your fish, then throw it on the grill once you're inside the protected lanai.
There's plenty of parking, including space for your boat trailer and/or RV across the street in the dedicated parking area. Ride about 100 feet to the island multi-use path and ride your bike down to Froggy's for a beer or Phuzzy's for some stone crab. You can ride almost the entire 17-miles from south to north on this path.
For those that aren't familiar with Pine Island, it's one of the last remaining areas of Florida that retains the "old Florida" character and CHARACTERS. You'll meet people, "mild to wild", from artists to bikers, and with opinions you'll agree and disagree with. And you'll have fun along the way. Nature trails are abundant as are wildlife such as eagles, gopher tortoises, manatees. We even have a one-finned dolphin named "uno".
In the summer, Pine Island is a mango wonderland with more varieties than you can imagine growing and being sold on the island. During the winter, the population increases and traffic slows a bit, but it's nothing compared to the overrun tourist centers you've been to before. There are festivals and markets weekly and many outdoor activities for the whole family. The one thing you won't find are beaches, but we have some great ferries that will drop you on white sand beaches that are private, quiet, and just a stone's throw away from Bokeelia (the north end of the island).
Whether you rent for a month or the whole season, lawn and garden service is included and a bi-weekly cleaning service can be added for a fee. Internet, water, and electricity are included in the price quoted by Vrbo.
