About this property
Exquisite Historic Suite Close to Downtown 14-21673
Located within walking distance to downtown Portland and convenient to the Pearl district, this romantic private suite is appointed with all of the luxuries found in a fine hotel. There is also a communal deck with mountain and river views available for your use when the weather permits. A queen sized bed in the main bedroom sleeps two but there is also another queen sized sofa bed in another room along with all the bedding needed. A small kitchenette and a sitting room with a counter for your electronics serves as a breakfast table. Since it was my art studio there are lots of art and interior design books to peruse along with games to use. The suite is accessed by an elevator and it is completely private. #14-21673

Vicki is a fabulous host and the apartment is such a quiet, beautiful space that invites guests to relax and just enjoy their time there. Vicki provides suggestions for restaurants and shopping and the location is perfect! Vicki thinks of all the essentials and non essential items to make the stay perfect. This was our 5th year staying here and it has become an annual place to stay while visiting the area.

Aww. You guys are the best!!! So glad you feel that way! Wish all my guests were like you!
Vicki was so kind even when we had to wake her up early in the morning because we were having trouble with the elevator, which you will not have as long as you read the signs. :-)Such a cool person with great style. We really enjoyed chatting. The property itself was also full of style, and the view was breathtaking! We got bagels from a cute place down the road to have for breakfast in the morning with the splendid view.
Staying here was unexpectedly wonderful. The space is larger than expected, eclectic, comfortable, interesting, unique, and charming. We only stayed one night as we passed through town on personal business, but it was perfect for us. By chance we got to meet Vicki and really enjoyed meeting her and the information she shared as well.

Thank you for your wonderful review. Next time stay longer. Lots to see and do.
Again. Thank you.
My best friend and I stayed here for one night while passing through. Everything exceeded expectations. It was very cozy and it felt like a home away from home. Vicki was also very sweet!
Such a pleasant surprise! Rooms were beautiful & comfortable. Fireplace was a nice touch. Lovely views & very close to downtown museums & restaurants. It was an excellent experience.

I’m happy to hear that. I hope your daughter chooses a college close by so you’ll come again.
The place is cool and unique. Amazing balcony view. The suite is accessed from an elevator which the kids thought was amazing! Best quality sofa bed I’ve ever seen. The main bedroom was so comfortable. There is a curtain to the bedroom but no door to close. I didn’t realize it was a suite on the host’s house and we’d need the host’s physical orientation to the space, but that was a lovely experience. Stayed just one night and it was a great experience.
The perfect stay!! We stayed for Valentine's weekend and this place was so charming and cute. Very on theme, we enjoyed the art work and craftsmanship of the suite. I will be recommending to anyone I know looking for some time in Portland:-)

About the host
Hosted by Vicki deVille
I am a native Portlander and also a property developer/interior designer. I lived in Hawaii for 29 years but have come back to Portland to spend time with aging parents and grandchildren. I have traveled extensively, spending time in more than 80 countries and know what to expect in a fine hotel.
Why they chose this property
This home has a unique sense of character and the location is wonderful. It is an easy stroll to Downtown,, the Saturday Portland State farmers Market, NW 23rd Street and to the Pearl. A $5 taxi ride back up the hill makes it easy for those who don't want to walk back. There is also a bus stop right across the street.
What makes this property unique
This home was built in 1950 by Eric Ladd who re-used pieces of the historic Portland Hotel which was torn down that year and stood where Pioneer Place is now located. I purchased the White Stag Windows from the Rebuilding Center and added to Mr. Ladd's legacy by using them to define the suite you will be staying in.
