Acorn Hill is the perfect home to unplug and enjoy the unparalleled beauty of the Shenandoah Valley and the nearby Shenandoah River. Acorn Hill is located in a quiet neighborhood and is walking distance to the Shenandoah River Outfitters where you can enjoy canoeing, tubing, and fishing. In addition to water sports, the nearby town of Luray, VA (home of the famous Luray Caverns), along with a variety of shops and restaurants, are 20 minutes away. If visiting Shenandoah NP, the Thornton Gap entrance is a beautiful 25-30 minute drive away.
We’re pet friendly (dogs only), so feel free to bring your furry friend along for your stay!

Please note, Acorn Hill is not located in a secluded area, there are other homes in the area however most are other rentals and the neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful!!

The cabin was a great little getaway for us on our second wedding anniversary. Next year will do it again at another location. we like our fall getaways. Cabin was quite quaint and communication with the host was pretty good too.. enjoyed our stay.

An awesome trip and cozy spot to get away. Short drive to the caverns and very friendly and welcoming host on call at a moments notice 10/10 would stay again!

Dog Friendly Cabin

We brought 2 dogs with us for a weekend getaway filled with hiking, Cavern tours, and winery visits. The place was exactly as pictured and the host was very friendly and helpful!

Relaxing stay

We hadn’t been on vacation in years, and Acorn Hill was exactly what we needed! Quiet, secluded, clean and so incredibly peaceful. We will definitely be back!

A very nice place to escape from the city. The river is within walking distance and there are loads of great hiking trails nearby.

A lovely space!

This little cabin was the perfect size for me and my five friends for a weekend in the mountains! So close to Luray Caverns and the town! Not to mention the view from the deck was gorgeous. I would absolutely stay here again if I were going to stay in Shenandoah

A little getaway

We booked this house as a 3 day getaway from our hectic lives. The property was well appointed and we had a lovely time. Would definitely recommend Acorn Hill as a great place to relax.

Great Getaway

My Family really loved having this home as a base to explore the area. The furnishings are comfortable and well cared for. The home was spotless and the area was very quiet/peaceful. We enjoyed making smores in the fire pit out back. I highly recommend this home.

Cute cabin with the mountain view

Check in process was easy, the house came with everything we needed including little things, and it’s quiet and peaceful with a great view in the back! The drive to places is over 20 minutes but that is mentioned in the bio and as long as you are okay with traveling some, it’s a great place to be! Would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend or full of adventure!

Omgee , where do I begin?, Our stay here at the Vista Grande was everything that we had hope it would be and more. Although, we had a last minute change everything was still amazing and Ms Becky and David was very helpful from the beginning to the end and even after we left it felt like we left our family home. They are just simply the best host ever and make you feel like you’re a part of their family while just being guest. We will definetly have to revisit them again. The house was well stocked in every room with whatever you needed. It really was home away from home. It has some of the best views of the mountains (picture perfect ) just looking out from the balcony’s. I love , love, love this place. Thanks again., you guys rock !

Very Nice cottage/Excellent stay

Our stay was fabulous! David and Becky made the check in process very easy and were very good with communication and very informative with everything we needed to know. The house was very clean and they provided things for the pets. We only needed to use the sheets to cover the couches and a couple of poo bags. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. Our daughter really enjoyed the tub both nights. There were 4 adults, two toddlers and two dogs and it was roomy for all of us. The kids had plenty of room to play. The shower had excellent water pressure and the water was nice and hot. We mainly cooked there and ate there and they had everything we needed, plenty of pots and pans, etc. We would gladly stay there again next time we come that way.

Nice mountain view!

This property was very clean and the hosts were very attentive and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay. There were a couple of houses nearby but you never really noticed them. Beautiful scenic drive from Luray and we could see the mountains well because the trees didn't have any of their leaves. Nice touches like the Keurig and shampoo and conditioner if you needed it. Would definitely stay again!

Nice spot for a weekend getaway

My husband and I stayed at Acorn Hill for a long weekend with our dog. We had a great time! It's plenty of space for two people (with bedroom space for more) and was nice and clean. We particularly enjoyed using the fire pit out back. It is a bit of a drive to get into town (about 20 mins) or into the National Park for hiking (30-45 mins), but a great spot if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Definitely recommend driving a car with 4 wheek drive to get up the road, but as long as you have that (which we did), you'll be good to go.

Family holiday wedding

My husband, my in laws, daughter and fiance met here to attend a wedding the day after Thanksgiving. The quiet seclusion is just what we needed. The views are great. The cabin is comfortable and has almost everything except a washer and dryer. We did however find a laundromat. I would stay again. My mother in law was a first time vrbo user and now I think she's hooked. The week was perfect in every way.

We enjoy time with family, love being grandparents and although we do enjoy traveling, living near the beautiful Shenandoah River and among the beauty of the George Washington National forest makes every day feel like a vacation!
