Family Mini trip

Great getaway in Luray

This was my second stay at Forest Glen. It's the perfect place to enjoy nature. The home was very clean and the porch was perfect for enjoying the fresh air. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Relaxing time in the mountains

The property had everything we needed. We really enjoyed time on the deck. We were so relaxed we never even turned on the TV, but it was great to know it was available, plus a great selection of DVDs, and some good books.

Family Getaway

We had a lovely time at their cabin. We would recommend it for families looking for a stay in the country. They were very quick to communicate with us. I do suggest that pet parents read the pet policy in detail as it is more restrictive than most.

Great Central location with Off the Grid Feel

Clean, Quiet, Comfortable, and not too far off the beaten track to enjoy Luray and Shenandoah National Park. If it's water activities on the river you're looking for, Forest Glenn Cabin is perfectly situated. We also hiked the Kennedy Peak Loop with a trail head that's only 20 minutes away on Fort Valley Rd. Offering breathtaking views, we had the trail to ourselves. David and Becky are very hospitable hosts.

Comfortable and Economical Choice

We enjoyed our stay at Forest Glen. The cabin was clean and comfortable. It is a nice flat lot so works great for kids. The front deck is awesome and we appreciated having two bathrooms. It is a ways from town, which was fine for us. The only downside was there is no view really. However, it is a quite area with plenty of trees. The owners were very easy to work with.

Cozy Cabin Nestled in the Mountains

The cabin was comfortable with great views! Location was great for exploring the area. The small town of Luray just down the mountain plenty of restaurants and shops. The cabin itself has very comfortable beds and furniture. Enjoyed the decks. Kitchen is a bit tight but well equipped for making meals. We took our trip in March to escape the snowy dreary days in central New York. Couldn't have picked a better time to visit the weather was great! Enjoyed several wineries, breweries and distilleries. Drove to the top of skyline drive...spectacular views!

Fun Place to Stay for Excursions to Luray

Forest Glen fits nicely in the neighborhood even though neighbors are closer than expected based on pictures and the description. The house has plenty of towels, books, games, and DVDs. The supply of spices and aluminum foil was a pleasant surprise. The refrigerator and oven were clean and functioned properly. The hosts, David and Becky, were wonderful. Access to the property may be challenging in winter weather due to the steep road leading to the house, but, overall, Forest Glen is a nice place to stay.

Great Rental!

The rental is in great shape! It smelled clean when we came in, so that was a great sign! It was well stocked with all the kitchen tools you need. The furniture is comfortable to sit and sleep on. The grill set was great, so we could cookout. Also, there is a great stock of pamphlets for local attractions! It was within 30 mins of Walmart and restaurants downtown which isn’t too bad of a drive. The negative was that the road getting up to the cabin was rough! It is gravel with lots of big holes, so make sure to bring 4 wheel drive! Also it is about 45 from the actual Shenandoah hikes, but there are plenty of local hikes you can do instead!

Fun getaway

We really enjoyed the cabin itself. Close to Luray and close to SNP. We saw a bear on our way to the cabin the first day. Very exciting for us. Haha We enjoyed the deck. The cabin had all the essential components for cooking there and that's mostly what we did. Beds were extremely comfortable.

Great weekend get away

We came to the cabin for a fall break get away. We needed WiFi access for our daughter to be able to complete homework, but wanted a relaxing stay in the mountains… and we had just that! Cabin was perfect - very clean and had all the amenities we needed. We loved that we could bring our dog as well. He loved looking out the large windows and sliding glass door. Hosts were absolutely amazing in terms of communication!! We lab to come back again. 🙂

Wonderful getaway!

Our stay here was wonderful! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It's located in a nice neighborhood and is fairly close to the local spots. The property itself is really nice with lawn space all around and a trail going into the woods from the back. My dog really enjoyed running around in the woods!

We enjoy time with family, love being grandparents and although we do enjoy traveling, living near the beautiful Shenandoah River and among the beauty of the George Washington National forest makes every day feel like a vacation!
