Girls’ getaway

The house was a perfect location between the beach and the bay. Everyone had their own private area and then we could all come together to eat and hang out on the beautiful roof top deck. I will definitely be staying here again!

Perfect Rental Home

We are repeat visitors to San Diego, and this home is by far our favorite rental in 20 years. Location, layout of home, roof top deck, and upgraded furnishings. Loved every minute of our stay!

Wonderful place to spend some beach time. The 1st floor was perfect for the older adults who had some trouble getting upstairs. The layout of the house was perfect - 3 floors each with their own beds and bathrooms. The house was equidistant from the beach and bay and close by equipment rental locations. House had its own parking, a big plus.

LOVE the Location!

This was a great place for my family with three teenagers to spend the week. The house was perfectly situated between the bay and ocean. It was an easy and quick walk and was safe and secure. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. The roof top deck had great views and the cool breeze off the ocean was amazing. The parking spots are narrow, and we could not get our full-sized SUV into the stalls, but that was disclosed in the description, so we were not surprised.

Walking distance to bay or ocean. Enjoyed it. A few minor quirks… bottom suite had deadbolt to lock people in? And it took a while to figure out pullout couch. The QR codes didn’t work. But overall, would rent again. Everything nice, clean, and we had a good time.

Great stay

House was amazing and fit our family perfectly! The three levels was awesome; and gave everyone their own private space. The shower handle in the top floor bathroom broke and they were prompt to fix it! 1 minute walk to the bay and close to all necessary food / stores. Neighborhood was peaceful and no major noise. Beds were comfy and perfectly stoked with all bathroom toiletries. Check in was okay, we offered to pay a fee for early check in since we were traveling with an 82 year old and a 4 year old and they wouldn’t allow check in until 4 pm on the dot. So that was a bummer. There is also zero beach gear minus a few towels.

Great home

This house is well maintained by the housekeepers but shows definite wear in the appliances and construction. The beds were comfortable, the linens and house supplies were accomodating, the house was as pictured. The reason I give it 4 stars is because the ac unit on the 3rd floor points down at the stairs instead of at the bunk beds. The 2nd floor living area has no ac I’m that space and it gets really hot. Yes it’s cool outside but some of the windows don’t open and when they do, the direction doesn’t catch the breeze and all you catch is noise from neighbor construction and obnoxious neighbors. It says there’s strict noise rules but we had neighbors that were loud into midnight. There were also ants in the second level.

The gentle ocean breezes that greeted us each morning were a delightful start to our days, and the views of both the ocean and bay from the front door were simply unmatched. The house itself is a marvel of thoughtful design and comfort. Spread across three floors, it offers three separate living spaces, ensuring plenty of privacy and room for relaxation for families or groups. Each floor feels like its own oasis, making the stay incredibly comfortable for everyone. Adding to the convenience are the three bathrooms, which significantly eased the morning and evening routines. What truly set this rental apart was the rooftop deck, complete with a fire pit. It was our favorite spot to gather in the evenings, under the starlit sky, warmed by the fire, witnessing the breathtaking sunsets that only the California coast can offer. The peaceful and quiet neighborhood amplified the relaxing experience, making it easy to unwind and savor our time away from the hustle and bustle. The house is not only nicely appointed but is also in close proximity to some local gems. We started our mornings with a walk to The Mission, where the breakfasts were so delicious they had us coming back every day. For days we felt like staying in, Rosemarie's offered fantastic sliders for take-out, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Mission Beach itself is a lovely area, offering both the vibrant energy of the ocean and the calm serenity of the bay. This vacation rental perfectly encapsulates the best of both worlds, providing an idyllic setting for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of this unique location. To anyone considering a stay here, expect to leave with a heart full of memories and a promise to yourself to return. This isn't just a place to stay; it's a destination that captures the essence of a California beach vacation. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect home base from which to explore and enjoy the wonders of Mission Beach.

Great house and location

For what we loved: We loved the house and setup. We were a little worried about the A/C units in the house and the current setup, but they worked out great and kept all the rooms cool when we wanted it at night. We family room was a great setup as well w/ the main kitchen and entertainment all being on one floor. Outdoor deck and views were great too. What we "didn't love" - We arrived with a couple of "known" problems that were not communicated prior to arrival. The gas fireplace outside on the deck was not operational and parts had already been ordered but we were not aware of that. The washer machine was being worked on prior to arrival because some tools were left by it and washer was running with nothing in it. When we used the washer machine the spin cycle sounded like a helicopter was landing on the roof and the entire unit had attempted to vibrate from the wall making it inoperable. We also realized that there were several towels that were not fresh as if they had been hanging on the wall for a while. We even discovered a spider on one of the towels while drying off from a shower. Full transparency, I provided feedback directly to Vacasa while we were still occupying the house and was provided a small nominal refund for the gas fire place not working. The refund was agreed to prior to discovering that additional issues. All in all though, I would stay at this house again. It's a great house that requires better management of the property. -Chris

Quick 3 day trip

The place was amazing! We have rented many beach houses in the area and this one was so well stocked. It had all the cooking gear that you would need including spices, cooking spray, foil, plastic wrap, baggies, laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. We have never had those items supplied before, so I was very surprised! The house was super clean and very modern. It looks just like the pictures. The downstairs room was like an apartment in itself. It was super nice to spread out and have some space. It was also super great to have 3 bathrooms. Just so you know scan the QR code on the refrigerator for all of the info on the house. We were told the lock on the outside chairs was unable to open and they had a work order in to have someone come and break off the lock. I found the correct code on the QR code! Also not listed anywhere in the property listing, there is a "beach gear" closest on the side of the house. Same code to unlock as the chairs lock. It had chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, a SUP, and sand toys. They also have beach towels inside of the house. The only hiccup we had was with the management company. It was really hard to reach them. The upstairs fire pit would not stay lit so I got a hold of them and they put in a work order. Never heard from them again with an update. :( Also I tried to help the cleaning ladies and I started a load of towels. Luckily I was in the house because the washing machine was making a horrible noise. I went around the corner and water was everywhere. It is a brand new washer so I knew something wasn't hooked up correctly. I called again. They put a work order in for that too. Still no text or calls for an update. About 20 minutes before we were to check out maintenance guys came to fix it. It just would have been nice to have more of an update throughout our time there. I never knew if they were going to come while we were out of the house. Would definitely rent this house again!

The property setup was great for our group of 6 but several bathroom fixtures fell off the walls and made 2 of the three showers unusable the first two days of our stay and one shower unusable the entire stay. The bathroom grout and shower curtains were moldy. The biggest issue was that the gas dryer was unvented. Had we started the dryer before bed, we would have died. The property managers were responsive via text and repairmen were in and out of the house our entire stay. The house was also extremely dusty and the area rugs need to be washed or replaced. It was probably a great property at some point but is in need of fresh paint, floor cleaning, and quality bathroom fixtures.

Location is excellent, 30 seconds to beach or bay. Beach equipment provided, chairs/umbrella and 2 inflatable SUPs. Parking is tight, but manageable, just wouldn't bring a large SUV/truck. Check in/out was easy. Would stay again!

Good but not great

The size and location of this home is fabulous for a family of 6. Plenty of bed and bathroom space in addition to a lovely outdoor space. Access to beach toys and towels was a plus. Parking is a little tricky in the small space, and we found backing in was easiest. Easy walk to coffee, food and the beach. My biggest complaint is that the home just didn’t feel clean. Surfaces were clean but floors were not. The AC units were covered in dust and the filters looked very dirty. Most alarming was that the bottom half of the primary bedroom sheets were covered with sand and hair. I attempted to wash the sheets but the washing machine was broken. I called the management company and was told a new washer was scheduled and would arrive by the end of day. No washer ever came and the management company just kept saying please be patient. By the end of our week, no washer had been delivered (and no message with updates). The laundromat on the corner was also closed so I had no way to wash anything. One of the reasons I had booked the house was because it had a washer and dryer, so this was quite frustrating and management did nothing to help.

Stayed for 5 days it it was great. Lots of space and great rooftop deck with views of the ocean and bay. Very clean and had pretty much all the basics you could need. I will say the parking spot(s) are really small, we had a full size suv due to the size of our group and we could barely squeeze into the center spot on an angle which blocked the other spots. Just something I wish I knew ahead of time, so I wanted to note it.

Great location! Beautiful Property!

We stayed her over the Christmas holiday with 5 adults - my parents (75ish), Daughter (25), Brother (40) & myself (40). Was a great spot with to relax with the family. Home had everything we could need! The only thing that was tricky was parking in the carport. My parents brought their Town & Country Van and it was tricky to maneuver in & out when we needed to leave. It took three of us just to guide it into one of the spots and it was probably the only space it would have fit. That being said I'm sure most people won't have a van or have trouble. The house is beautiful and worth that small hassle.
