I’m glad it worked out great for your family. Best of luck to your daughter at CMU!!! Come back to see us again. :)
We stayed for most of the month of June. The home is in a great location with quick drives to trails or stores. Grand Mesa is about an hour away. Katie is quick to respond to any issues or concerns and you can tell that she cares and wants to make sure you have a great stay. We were able to bring our dog and she provided food and water bowls and a dog bed. That was so nice! She also provided coffee and snack items so that you had time to get to the store if you arrived late. There are great places to sit outside, even a porch that had to have been built solely to watch the sunrise each morning. Thank you for the great stay!

We arranged to stay at the house for a couple days on our way back home from a girls trip. The house itself is accommodating and has everything you could need. The top floor is really an apartment on its own so it worked well for us having separate space. The location is convenient and close to Grand Mesa for hiking and Grand Junction for restaurants. We would have enjoyed our stay if it wasn't for the Elm Beetles. Our host warned us about the beetles in our welcome email providing the door code the day we were to arrive. When we got to the home, they were everywhere. I am a horse person and not afraid of bugs. We tried to deal with hundreds of dead bugs both outside on the porch, in the window sills, bathtub, shower, and on the floor of the house. Most of the bugs were dead, but there were some still crawling around. Unfortunately, a couple were crawling on me in bed when I was trying to sleep and that was it for me. We left the next morning and let the host know. She apologized for the bugs and said they were going to have exterminators back? She did offer to come over and vacuum up the bugs but we honestly didn't want to deal with it. No refund was offered for our last night. If it weren't for the bugs the place would have been fine. We didn't appreciate being told the morning of our arrival about the bugs. We would have appreciated advanced notice of this issue and a choice of cancelling with no penalty but we just got a "sorry".

Hi Kerry,
I apologize for the inconvenience of the elm beetles. I sent a message the day before you had arrived to inform you of elm beetles and apologize I had not informed you sooner. They honestly just started appearing more rapidly over the week and I clean them up immediately. We have not had issues with them as much in the past. I was in the home the morning you arrived and removed the elm beetles from the window seal and door areas. Also swept the porch to make sure it was clean. I apologize if more showed up.
I did not realize they were as bad as you mentioned during your stay. I would have gladly addressed the issue and offered a refund if I knew it was this bad.
I apologize for not offering a refund for leaving early. From the email you sent I did not realize how dissatisfied your were. It seemed like a more positive email other than the elm beetles. I am happy to offer a refund and will actually initiate that immediately.
Again I apologize for the inconvenience.

About the host
Hosted by Katie A Kleager
Katie enjoys trail running and hiking with our Labrador retrievers, spending time with friends and family and watching sports events. Katie loves sharing this special family home to honor her grandparents and parents and their love for horses and country life.
Why they chose this property
Katie's grandparents move to GJ in 1958 and built the home next door at 449 W. Scenic. The family added Blushing Katie in 1989. Katie enjoys the beautiful views of Colorado National Monument and the multitude of trails less than 5 min from the house. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly
What makes this property unique
The property originally was a peach orchard that was transformed into training ground for race horses. Today goats and chickens occupy the pasture in the back of the house. We hope to soon plant peach trees once again. Its a fun quiet place to enjoy a little country life with modern amenities.
